Question - TE25 - background audio No.39601
tiepolo  2003-10-25 20:34:18 ( ID:4uyocpn/.qo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello

I am new to TMPGEnc.
I would like to know if it's possible to add background music to an mpeg file
without deleting the existing audio on the file.

thanks very much

ashy  2003-10-26 13:25:30 ( ID:n2grn9uovqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You need an audio editor not TMPG to do this.

Question - TE25 - Frame Rate No.39594
Sakuya  2003-10-25 10:12:13 ( ID:6y4cusar5hr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

My source AVI file is 23.976fps. I converted a portion of it to MPEG at the same frame rate. It played fine on the computer. But on my DVD player, the audio is jerky. Why is that? What would be the consequences if I converted it to MPEG at 29.97fps? Will there be jerky audio or anything?

ashy  2003-10-25 10:15:57 ( ID:n2grn9uovqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Which MPEG format MPEG1 or MPEG2, what bitrate did you use?

Sakuya  2003-10-26 01:45:00 ( ID:6y4cusar5hr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am making an XVCD. I used MPEG1 with a bitrate of 2520 kbits/sec. Weird? It works out beautifully on my player.

Minion  2003-10-26 21:20:25 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It could be because your Bitrate is Far to high for VCD and if your Player Only supports VCD it Probably only has a 1x or 2x speed drive in it which might be a Little slow for reading the High Bitrates you are useing....Cheers

Sakuya  2003-10-27 01:55:04 ( ID:6y4cusar5hr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I converted it to 29.97fps at the same bitrate and it played fine! Yay!

ashy  2003-10-27 17:52:21 ( ID:n2grn9uovqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

>I converted it to 29.97fps at the same bitrate and it played fine! Yay!

I doubt it plays fine, you can't frame rate convert with TMPG, you will get jerky playback. Sort of like little stutters on moving objects.

Sakuya  2003-10-28 03:48:35 ( ID:6y4cusar5hr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

But it does plays fine. Everything looks wonderful and no jerky playback.

Hi, I am new to this program and would like to ask a question. When I run this program, and input all that is needed "P3Package.dll" pops out ! What shouuld I do ?

Thanks

DAVID SCOFIELD  2003-10-25 07:30:27 ( ID:sycjrxovoko )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Go to this ...http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/archive/t112177.html..I had the same problem and did what they said and it fixed it.

ashy  2003-10-25 10:14:00 ( ID:n2grn9uovqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Stop trying to run TMPG from the zip.
You need to extract 'ALL' of the files first for it to work, that is what they are there for.

Question - TE25 - get error when trying to run tmpgenc No.39587
DOMINATOR  2003-10-24 14:44:48 ( ID:a6hyap1bbm6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

it used to work ive even restored pc to a time it was working but still same prob
im running win xp athlon barton 2.5 1 gig pc2700 333 ddr mem 120 gig hd

Minion  2003-10-24 21:52:12 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The "NTdll.dll" error usually only pops up when encodeing Xvid files, If this is the case the Best solution is to Install the "FFDShow Decoder" and configure it to decode XviD files and if you have the XviD codec and don"t need it for compression then I would get rid of it...This should hopefully get rid of your Problem...

DOMINATOR  2003-10-25 11:03:16 ( ID:a6hyap1bbm6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, Have you Maybe tried to Frameserve the File to Tmpgenc useing Virtual-Dub??? and when encodeing Mpeg2 to mpeg1 or mpeg2 in tmpgenc I find it is Better to use DVD2AVI to Frameserve the Mpeg video to Tmpgenc cuz it is faster and you rarely ever get any errors....Cheers

Question - TE25 - 32 Hz DV capture No.39584
sergio  2003-10-24 13:37:52 ( ID:b6wece6rtb. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi all,

I'm capturing analog video (VHS) from a DV media converter and its audio output is 32kHz. When I use TMPGEnc to encode the captured AVI file to MPEG2-DVD the resulting video has a sound with distortion. Is there any setting in TMPGEnc to do this convertion (32->48kHz) without problems?

Thanks in advance,

sergio

ashy  2003-10-24 17:28:28 ( ID:n2grn9uovqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes, go to the audio settings in the Enviromental settings and set the sample rate converter to high quality.

Question - TDA1 - Latest DVD Author installed ezSP_Px.exe in my tasklist? No.48821
deskgrunt  2003-10-24 01:06:31 ( ID:4niysfrh8vw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It seems that latest DVD Author installed the app ezSP_Px.exe in my tasklist to load at startup.

Anyone know what it is and if it's safe to remove?
I don't use the DVD writing tool and I think it has something to do with that...

I prefer to have as few programs possible to run in the background while capturing video...

HAHA  2003-11-05 08:03:19 ( ID:uexq2jhhhql )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This is just a burning relatif engine. If you remove it, it may some trouble with TMPGEnc DVD Author's writing tool.

Question - TE25 - cannot open or unsupported No.39581
al78  2003-10-23 19:36:19 ( ID:jk2ucmclmtf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi

Another question about the "cannot open and unsupported file".
I checked everything what you write about that topic, but nothing helped me.
I raised the priority, load down a new codec, but still the same error.
I can watch the film on evry player i have, no problem.
Also, i never had problems with encoding videos, but from one day on, this error
comes evrytime.
Please help me, I am really out of order.
THX

Minion  2003-10-23 22:26:04 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Have you tried Installing "FFDShow Decoder" and configure it to decode the format that your AVI file is in?? But if that don"t work I guess you can try Frameserveing the File to Tmpgenc useing Virtual-Dub or AVISynth but this is a Little advanced....

ashy  2003-10-24 17:30:30 ( ID:n2grn9uovqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What format is the file in, is it AVI, WMV, MPEG1, MPEG2, ASF... which?

Question - TDA1 - Not full movie No.48818
sion3000  2003-10-23 14:46:20 ( ID:8yfrh0k0y/a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have converted 2 or 3 movies using Tmpgenc Dvd author and 2day i tried 2convert another 1. But when i was checking the movie when it had finished authoring it i noticed that it had only converted 500mb of the film instead of 4.1gb (im doing this exactly the same way as i did the other ones) the format of the movie im authoring is 720 x 567 (mpeg2 format) and plays fine. Could there be a problem with the mpg ? Ive tried re-converting it from the oringinal avi many times but still it hits a problem in extactly the same place.

Could anyone sugest why this is not working ?

HAHA  2003-11-05 08:07:51 ( ID:uexq2jhhhql )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Question - TE25 - Difference CQ and CQ_VBR No.39580
yeppie  2003-10-23 10:07:03 ( ID:ih0d2stpmwc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

What's the difference between CQ and CQ_VBR?

I noticed that the Q-level of CQ_VBR encoded files
is horizontal on "1".
With CQ the Q-level looks like "the rocky mountains".

When encoding in MPEG1 the Q-value of CQ_VBR must be half
of that of the CQ mode to get approx. the same file size.

What is the Q-level of a MPEG1/2 file anyway? Is it better to have
a higher or a lower Q-level in the encoded file?

Cheers,

Hendrik

Question - TDA1 - Remove Play All Button No.48815
peterv  2003-10-23 03:22:52 ( ID:hczhhoiwjxh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there any way to remove the "Play All" button in a menu? I want to create just a main menu with 2 tracks and be able to select either track 1 or track 2. I could live with just making the play all button invisible and pushing it to the edge of the screen, but then Track 1 isn't highlighted and I have to use the remote to move over to Track 1 or 2. Is there a way to select which button is the first button?

Thanks

B_Racer  2003-10-23 23:04:14 ( ID:dxp41zyyfu. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Unfortunatly, you can't remove this Button. All you can do is to resize it an set it into the Overscan-Area. But the Button will stay selectable, so that's not an really good Idea.

peterv  2003-10-24 01:12:11 ( ID:oycyzbxb0cc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanks, I've tried that, and it is still selectable, but it's also the selected button so there's no highlight on the screen, which means on a settop player you need to press buttons before you see a highlight.

Request - TE25 - Using tmpgenc to make a Video CD No.39577
jeoj  2003-10-22 23:18:36 ( ID:mztxizgsg.a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am a newbie, I have made a movie using movie maker in WinXP and would like to burn it as a VCD movie on CD-R disc to give to friends. How would I use tmpgenc to do this?

I did try using Nero5.5 on my liteon CD-RW but it would not work

thank you

Minion  2003-10-23 01:22:12 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Tmpgenc will Encode your AVI file to Mpeg1 VCD format then you have to use something like Nero to Just burn the Mpeg file to CD-R in VCD Format...If you Allready Tried to do this with Tmpgenc would have allready figured it out..When you start Tmpgenc the "Wizard" will pop up and Guide you through setting up your File to be encoded to Mpeg-1 VCD, There insn"t really anything I can explain here that the Wizard doesn"t allready explain, so Just try it and if you have a Problem Post what the Problem is.......

PS: you will have to put most movies on 2 CD-R"s in VCD format...

ashy  2003-10-23 19:32:24 ( ID:n2grn9uovqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

>I am a newbie, I have made a movie using movie maker in WinXP and would like to burn it as a VCD movie on CD-R disc to give to friends.

Movie maker doesn't create the correct format for VCD it only craetes WMV files.
You need to re-encode it first with TMPG using the VCD template then burn it with Nero as a VCD not a data disk.

Question - TE25 - m2vs stutter on playback No.39575
chris  2003-10-22 19:53:21 ( ID:pujrqcibhvh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am having a small problem whith the m2v playback after encoding an xvid movie, the picture quality is fine, the sound is great, but when the picture is moving it pause's every second like its sticking , ive have tried HQ motion search, 2 pass vbr,CQ br, but none of the change's i made seemed resolve the problem . can anyone help??

Minion  2003-10-22 21:41:13 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What it sounds like to me is that you encoded the AVI file to a mpeg file with a Different Frame rate...You have to encode your AVI file to Mpeg useing the same Frame rate as the Source AVI file so if your AVI file is 25fps you have to encode it as 25fps and 29.97fps has to be encode as 29.97fps ECT...Check that your AVI file and Mpeg file have the same frame rate....Cheers
