I am importing SRT format subtitles that are in Spanish. They are exported from my Final Cut Pro 10.5.1 timeline. When I import them into Authoring Works 6, odd characters are substituted throughout. This is happening in on import, as the SRT files do not contain these odd characters, and the subtitles look fine in Final Cut Pro. I have also tried this with SRT caption files I received directly from 3Play Media and the same thing happens. Is there anyway to correct or prevent this? Here is an example of what I get:
I am on Windows and see the same thing for the Swedish language. To fix it i open it in Notepad and then go to File > Save As. In the Save As dialog i change the Encoding option from UTF-8 to ANSI and click Save to overwrite and save the file.
There must be a simple text editor on the Mac as well. If not, try SubtitleEdit, it can change the Encoding as well.
I converted a video i captured and edited in m2ts and want to code for apple TV 4. When i go to play apple TV said its not compatable but will play on old apple TV 2 (Anyone have recommended output settings.

I suggest instead trying Corel VideoStudio Pro
That one should still have the ability do capturing of analogue video, if it can find the capturing drivers for your camcorder.
You can download the studio from Corel's site and try it out for 30 days, so that at least gives the ability to test if it works.
Does anyone know how to achieve Colour Correction changes in a clip? In Premiere it has keyframes from which to change colours exposure contrast etc. The only way I can achieve this (as a newby to TVMW7) is to split the clips and change the colour in the section that needs it but then there is no phased-in element

I just installed Authoring Works 5 to my brand-new PC w/ Window 10
But, under "Cut and Chapter Edit" for each title source, "play" function doesn't work (only FWD/RWD works). Whenever I click "play" it freeze and have to terminate program.
If any suggestion to how to fix this problem, pls kindly advise.
Hi, recently I got my new PC build and installed my old copy of TAW5 and noticed it never used the CUDA cores for rendering, I enabled cuda in the properties of TAW5 and all but CPU 100% all the time, do I have to setup CUDA on my video card or something? I have all driver updates, making BLU RAY disc from HD Avi files. Thanks!
I see that a chapter can have a font and font size change, but is there an APPLY TO ALL chapters option...with 20-30 chaptersits very time consuming changing individually
