I use AW4 to make Blu-ray videos. The MPEG-2 I am importing into AW4 is 23 GB. The Blu-ray capacity is 25 GB. Why does my clip in AW4 always show FR-full render, meaning when I go to burn the disk, AW4 re-encodes my entire MPEG-2 which takes 7 hours? I want my clip to indicate SR-Smart render.
Now I'm not absolutely sure but a 25gb blu-ray disc may only have 22.5gb (or there abouts)space available for recording because of the 'overhead' reserved. Try one with less data
I love the ability to add text based subtitles with the subtitle filter. I would be great if I could also add graphic file based subtitles too. Some languages (Farsi, Arabic, Hindi) have character sets that keep their formating better when saved as graphic files. This would be helpful for logos and titles created in photo editing software too.
Hi. I'm using Win XP to "Cut-edit" clips in a project file that was save in Windows 7. Unfortunately I got this error message on some clips, and I'm unable to edit them. How to solve this issue? Please advise. Thank you.
Error message: "An error occurred while structuring the clip edit window. Refer to the details below. Invalid bitmap image"
Can anyone tell me the steps necessary to install my Canopus codecs into TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress? I'm pretty sure the Codecs are on my computer(since I edit with Canopus Edius) but I don't know how to add them to the codec list in TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress. Thanks for your help!
They should show up automatically if you installed them on your computer.
Check Options-->Preferences-->Input/output format list-->AVI settings
If it doesn't show up in that list, then there may be a problem with the codec installation or some sort of conflict.
Is there a good place to download the codecs? Maybe I can try it on my comp to see if they work.
Hi everyone.
I have a little problem with the program and it's that i don't know how to make the playback goes to the top menu after it plays de header track
p.d. i tried with the menu wizard, and the result still the same!, also try with the autoring 3 and there was no big diference
i'm thinking that is a trouble with the program itself,
plis someone can help me?? i will really apreciate it
thanks..
Some programs MUST be installed on a computer which has Internet capabilities. Some others can get a License # from the company using another computer and then install the program on their editing computer (which has NO internet capabilities.
So - can TMPG Xpress be installed and a license number applied on an editing computer that has NO internet capabilities?
Many thanks,
Alan
Yes and no. Yes, you can install it on a computer with no internet, but you will need to connect to the internet every time it needs to validate the license, which it does periodically. It might be once a month, or once every two weeks...I can't really tell what the pattern is. Once it validates, you can disconnect and still use the program.
Im curious to know if anyone else has experienced this issue, and more importantly, if there is a fix for this glitch.
My signal runs from Mini DV to Sony MC 10 DVD burner.
Once I finalaize that disc and and run it through the softwre to create an mpeg 1, I find there are dropouts of audio. They are not long, by any means, just split second drops, but very noticeable.
The mini dv and dvd play fine on their own with no issues.
I've tried three different kinds of discs, but no success.
I jotted down some times when this occured during the playback of one of the the mpeg 1 files; you can see it doesnt appear to be completely random, but still, I have no clue what the problem may be.

Any ideas?
We use TMPGEnc daily and love it. It's the best encoder we have. By far the most important thing we need in the future is more speed! We could use something that's 100 times faster.
Actual CUDA encoding would be top priority for us. Using it for filtering is useless to us as we rarely use filtering.
Using CUDA for MPEG and WMV encoding would be just fantastic. And it would be nice if it worked on the GTX 4XX series :)
CUDA doesn't even make sense for filtering unless you have a very slow processor....which you wont if you have a GTX480 in your machine. My 6 core 3.2Ghz Phenom II with CUDA diabled is twice as fast at encoding with filtering compared to using CUDA with my 9800GT and the same processor. It's hugely inefficient. Even my 2 core 3.1ghz Phenom II was slightly faster with CUDA disabled. Forget about it when I clock my 6 core machine up to 4.0ghz.
I'm using the latest TMPGEnc on a WinXP32 system. I recently added a GTX 470 and now when I load TMPGEnc it crashes badly when loading the cuda.dll file. I don't have cuda activated in the program but it still crashes.
I'm using the 175.75 drivers but I've tried others and none work.
