Question - Bad line on bottom of video No.58200
elfy3d  2008-04-01 11:25:19 ( ID:faamnnbmi0r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

After I convert any uncompressed avi to a mpeg. I get a bad line on the very bottom of the video, like static but only one line. And I've tried different videos to make sure it wasn't the source. Is there a setting I'm missing?
If some one can help me out that would be great, I need to get this video out.

elfy3d  2008-04-01 12:10:50 ( ID:faamnnbmi0r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

the line is caused by changing the setting from interlaced to progressive. But my source files are not interlaced and/or do not use fields.
If I use interlace my video quality seems to get worse.

M Lisett  2008-06-20 04:28:58 ( ID:medjp4.yoma )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

why is the file uncompressed avi as that muct be like 400gb if froma tc capture.

MarkN  2008-03-24 22:05:13 ( ID:x/hrcjvv15n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, i'm tyring to use TMPGEnc xpress 4.0 to convert my AVCHD files (.mts)

I've read numerous places that the Codecs installed by power dvd 7 trail enable TMPGEnc to view these files and transcode them. Unfortunately i'm only able to hear audio and no video. Any guidance on configuring TMPGEnc to work properly with AVCHD files (.mts) would be great.

Thanks!

tkrave  2008-05-05 22:15:59 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

AVCHD is not supported as far as I know.

huy  2008-06-07 05:39:04 ( ID:txq5tgsiqqn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

for avc or vc1 files download the free program called tsmuxer and convert the file to m2ts. That converted file will then be able to be imported to Tmpgenc

Question - Edit DivX but not transcode keeping same settings. Possible? No.58195
Dean  2008-03-19 20:09:30 ( ID:6cwjtvbbie. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is it possible to edit DivX encoded files just to cut out sections & then splice it back and save it into a new file without having to transcode the entire file again?

Will Author 3.0 or TMPG XP do this??? Current version of Author says it uses "smart encoding"... "Perform precise frame cut-edits with Smart Rendering"

Thanks for your help!

Dean

Geowharton  2008-04-13 23:20:07 ( ID:7rkyoga0jww )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have don that with Author 3.0. The files were not re-encoded. The transcode took a few minutes for an hour or more worth of video.

-I note that it was Divx encoded by TMPGEnc 4.0.

sharrukin  2008-03-14 18:44:31 ( ID:15tcworzbbf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i have version 4.4.1.237 of tmpg. when the app starts, i get error message-pthreadGC2.dll not found, try re-install. after re-install, the problem remains. where can i find this dll?

Monkeytree  2008-06-02 14:54:41 ( ID:qal8zulw8u2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

hi there, ive had the same problem with version 3, try the following weblink

files.filefront.com/pthreadGC2dll/;7674775;/fileinfo.html

once downloaded, put the file into the following folders

c:\windows
c:\windows\system32

and also into installation directory of TMPGEnc 4, where the .exe file resides

once the .dll file is in place, the error message will disappear.

Father Christmass  2008-06-30 17:04:52 ( ID:vlkkisxlwl2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

My message disappeared when I copied the file to c:\windows\system32
the file is here: http://files.my-dll.com/mydll-pthreadgc2.dll.zip

I have the same problem on WinXP SP2...
Hope someone replies with an answer..

Regretfully, we haven't heard one reply from anybody including TMPGEnc Support.
Therefore I uninstalled mine and shall pursue other options.

Question - Color Change in encoded video No.58185
dave gonzales  Home )  2008-02-07 01:11:46 ( ID:guce2pr3be2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

We are using 4.0 to encode our videos to HD wmv videos for web. We start with a .mov file created in Final Cut Pro on a Mac and after the video is encoded it ends up being noticably lighter than the original footage. Is there any reason that this is occuring that I am missing?

Thanks for your help.

Dave G

M Lisett  2008-06-20 04:34:07 ( ID:medjp4.yoma )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have this feeling you viewed the end item via quicktime, if so DONT as for some stupid reason it lightens any video, try viewing it via vlc player or medeia classic player etc.

Question - Sharpen Edge Filter No.58183
Peter Able  2008-01-03 20:33:31 ( ID:2lnq5esol3h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've just upgraded to TE40 and am really missing the TE25 Sharpen Edge Filter.

Why has this been dropped, is it available as an add-on, or when will it be available? Neither of TE40's sharpen filters come any where near to being as useful as TE25's Sharpen Edge.

Peter

M Lisett  2008-06-20 04:36:29 ( ID:medjp4.yoma )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

try looking at the contour filter, its basically yhr same thing, plus there are other filters hidden just press the add button which will bring up another window for the filters

Bug report - Canon AVCHD No.58181
Cory Wandling  2007-12-31 03:47:55 ( ID:8hsmlj8bdmo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have a Canon HG10 which uses AVCHD encoding. I can load the clip but TMPENC crashes (ie application disappears) when I go from "Source" and click the "Format" button.

Do you support AVCHD encoding?

lonestarshack  2008-04-16 02:01:00 ( ID:lkjtolmrayc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I own an HG10 myself and are currently using 4.0 Express. Load up the K-Lite Codec pack and you should be able to drop the mts files straight in.

Question - Purchase 4.0? No.58177
twrch  2007-12-19 17:06:24 ( ID:whpupfabsij )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am a NewTek SpeedEdit user. NewTek has an AVI wrapper that works with your TMPGEnc 2.5 version. I am interested in buying the 4.0 version but want to be able to run the 2.5 version also. Does a single license for 4.0 cover 2.5 as well?

fuzz54  2007-12-28 18:57:04 ( ID:cosz3zgbt2l )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You could try downloading the trial of the TMPGEnc software to see if the AVI wrapper will play nice with version 4.0 as well as 2.5.

Geowharton  2008-04-13 23:41:15 ( ID:7rkyoga0jww )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Having 4.0 will not disable 2.5. I have liscenses to both. The 4.0 liscense was an upgrade. 2.5 did not stop working.

tkrave  2008-05-05 22:18:50 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

XPress 4.0 and 2.5 are considered two separate products. If you want to use both, you will have to purchase both products.

Also, purchasing 4.0 Xpress does not entitle you to 3.0 XPress.

Question - video upside down No.58175
selrahc  2007-09-28 17:19:26 ( ID:4nykaikjz1k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

After encoding video is upside down,  is there any way to correct this problem?

nTekka  2007-10-04 02:10:50 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are you using AVI and ffdshow? It has a flip video option... Anyway you can flip it back to normal with TXP4's "Picture rotation" filter... you won't see it on the default list so click on Edit filter list to add it.

Question - MKV to WMV video stutter issue No.58167
anonymous  2007-09-24 04:48:03 ( ID:rdktyssjq.h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i am having just a slight issue with the program. after converting a .mkv file (which contains 720p content), the newly created .wmv file has an issue with the video stuttering for the first ~5 minutes of playback. after that the stutter goes away and the rest of the video is perfect. i have racked my brain and tried many different settings, none of which have solved the issue.

the source mkv file plays perfectly from start to finish, so it's not a problem with it. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

nTekka  2007-09-25 00:11:47 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What codec pack are you using to decode MKV? try going into TXP4 Options > Preferences > file input > disable AVI file reader and enable directshow.

Its a big resolution, might want to try different codec and see if that will fix it.

anonymous  2007-09-26 09:17:53 ( ID:bs0adc83yzw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i'm using the Combined Community Codec Pack. also using avisynth for the video stream. for audio, i've extracted the 5.1 sound track from the mkv file and it is loaded separately in tmpgenc 4.0.

as i said, it only does it for the first few minutes, after that, it's perfect.

nTekka  2007-09-27 01:00:46 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try uninstalling CCCP and install just Matroska pack for MKV support, see if that will work. Also might want to try K-Lite Pro.

anonymous  2007-09-28 18:01:26 ( ID:dtwwzv8mnbr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

just for added info, when i don't use avisynth and let tmpg read the mkv file directly for the video then the stutter occurs for the full length of the video.

i'll try what you suggested.

anonymous  2007-09-28 22:37:16 ( ID:6edxhzkivtn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

tried your recommendations. neither worked. still have the stutter. any other ideas?

Wolfman  2007-12-21 20:48:46 ( ID:hky5lfjqfeg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can look at this tutorial for more info:
Read this tutorial first:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=611163
The answer lies in using AVISYNTH scripts. (*.avs)

They don't show you the script in the tutorial, so create a script that looks like this: (use Notepad, etc to make movie.avs)

DirectShowSource("F:\TestStreams\movie_to_convert.mkv",fps=23.976, audio=false)

Make sure that your fps is accurate!
Use the full path to the mkv file.
When you open this with Xpress it will pull up the video only. Then you just add your audio back in by opening the audio file. If you have a DTS track, you can still select it, you just have to choose "Show all files" first.
The audio and video may be slightly different lengths, but this is usually OK.

I suggest loading k-lite codec packs first because it comes with the right stuff, including avisynth.

Good luck!

FYI, I run Xpress on a Intel Quad core using this method and with DirectShow it uses all 4 CPUs to 100%. I have it overclocked to 3.3Ghz with a 366Mhz FSB and it has not "fried" to quote an earlier post after. Runs at 60C. Intel Rocks!

Hal Jordan  2008-06-02 07:11:21 ( ID:8ryaptdijel )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try setting the frames in to 29.97 regardless of what it deaults to (probably 23), and then make the output progressive. Stutter should vanish.

Great blog. I really liked it. I have also created a lens in same niche. This is my first time, hope u guys like it. Here’s a brief intro: In your search for some top gambling strategies you’ve probably come across various systems, but the bottom line is - the odds are stacked in the casino’s favour. The only real system that overcomes this is card counting at blackjack, which is illegal. However things have now changed…For nearly 10 years a group of serious businessmen in a dedicated research laboratory did in depth research into highly advanced mind power techniques, including some incredible top gambling strategies. http://casinoonesite.com
