I get the error below when trying to install the software. At my work we started doing web cast and I recommended this software and it kinda back-lashed we financed having this ordered so I can make DVD for people with out internet so they do not miss presentation of new upcoming policies and such. But the error is below any help would be great also I have tried compatibility mode. So you know we just switched to Windows 7 Enterprise x64. I did test on my machine at home to get the work done but it runs Windows 7 Home Starter and a net book is no way to do this as it takes forever.
"This version TAW4_Retail_4.0.7.32_setup_en.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
Not really sure why it wouldn't work. I haven't tried it on Windows 7 x64 myself, but I think other forum users have been able to install it without issue.
So you've tried it with and without compatibility mode and no change?
I'm wondering if the fact that it's the Enterprise edition is part of the problem.
Are you running in administrator mode?
Maybe it's also a bad download of the installer. Try to redownload it.
Just downloaded the AW4 and can't seem to find a way to import a previously written Video_ts file. I am trying to create a dvd that will play as letterbox 4:3 in standard tV and 16:9 full screen on capable mopnitors. I don't see a way to set the 16:9 switch and have made the adjustment using the Infedit program.
How do you bring a previouls created dvd file back into AW4. The Disk writing tool only gives me the option to make a disc image and the other menu tabs fail to function.
First of all: VIDEO_TS is not a disc image, it is a folder containing DVD files.
You import the VIDEO_TS folder to AW4 by selecting to import "From a DVD, ...", and then you chose "From a folder", and then you selct the VIDEO_TS folder. When that is done, you go to the Menu tab, and there you specify the aspect ratio of the menu, either 4:3 or 16:9.
I have TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4.0.7.32 and am running it on Vista x64. The company says it cannot guarantee that it will work on x64 but it's been working fine for the past six months except until today when, after I input all of my project settings and loaded a video file I got an error message that said" Could not find a usable media writer drive. You cannot use the media writer function"
The first thing I did was check in device manager to see if my two LG DVD burners are ok and they are, then I did some test burns on my other burning software and they worked fine, so it has to be in the program, however I uninstalled, then reinstalled it and I got the same thing.
Also I know it's not the media because it will not even start the transcoding phase and you don't even need a disc in at that point to see if it's working or not.
I assuming that all of a sudden it has decided it will not work with the two LG burners so it would be real easy to just go ahead and by two newer models, but that's almost a shame because the LG's have just worked flawlessly, however I really like this program so I might just go ahead and get two new ones. Also I did try updating the firmware on them but that didn't help. I'm stunped!
If cd/dvd drive is not detected in winXP (x64) and you cannot start the service "B's Recorder GOLD Library General Service" which can be found by clicking
START then RUN and typing services.msc.
Open regedit in the RUN window (proceed with caution).
Goto HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\bgsvcgen
open ImagePath key and change the path from "C:\WINDOWS\system32\bgsvcgen.exe" to "C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\bgsvcgen.exe"
this worked for me. Effect is immediate. After this mod i was able to start the service which allowed the writing drive to be recognized by TMPGEncAW4.
Before this step "B's Recorder GOLD Library General Service" would not start.
I am using TMPGENC Authoring Works 4 with my new HD Camcorder. My question is this- I have put multiple clips into one track. Will the track settings override the clip settings, or vice versa? The settings I am wondering about are the video settings: progressive, frame rate, etc.
I just want to know which ones to change. I remember when I used to use TMPGEnc I would do progressive and 23.976 (Internally 29) but I only see that setting as an option in the track setting and not the clip settings.
Ultimately, it will use the track settings since those are the settings it will use to encode to DVD/BD-compliant video, but it will use the clip settings as the basis.
Think of the clip settings as what the video actually is, and think of the track settings as what it's going to be (a DVD/BD).
For example, if your clip is set at 16:9 but your track setting is set at 4:3, it will not squash the video but will instead add black bars to the top and bottom, keeping the 16:9 aspect ratio.
In general, I only change the clip settings if I know for a fact that they're wrong.
What codec is your video using? Is it ffdshow?
GSpot is just a tool to tell you what codec the video is using; it will not fix your problems.
If your codec is ffdshow, open the ffdshow video decoder configuration (Start menu-->All Programs-->ffdshow-->video decoder configuration). You should see a list of video formats. Under the column for "Decoder" right-click anywhere and select one or both of the options ("Set all stable formats to libavcodec" or Set all supported formats to Xvid"). Click OK to close the window and see if the file can be opened in Authoring Works.
I am trying to make a DVD from an mp4 video. In the video there are several scenes inside a pitch black tunnel, but in the DVD output all these black scenes have been transformed to grey/white. How do I get TMPGEnc Authoring Works to not convert black to white, but let black be black in the output?
TAW4 will not import my DVD-RAM into the source wizard. Why not? I select the drive and folder (DVD_RTAV)that contain the .ifo .vro and .bup files. but it won't import them. my drives support DVD-RAM, so that's not the problem.
I have a bunch of high-definition files that I'd like to edit. The proxy files are invaluable. I'd like to queue up creation of the proxy files, so that I don't have to add a file, wait for the proxy to be generated, add another file, wait again, ...
Instead, I'd like to add 20 files at once & come back the next day to have all the proxy files created.
Thanks!
This is possible. Just select multiple files when you are adding clips instead of just one file at a time.
You can either drag and drop multiple clips, or ctrl+click multiple files in the file selector.
I want to create a menu for a movie.
The movie is in Japanese. The subtitles are in English.
I have both files in the same folder.
One folder is the movie (AVI)and the other folder is the subtitle file(.srt).
When I go to select the subtitle to add to the project,TMPGenc won't open it..something or other about it not being a valid format..?
How can I get this on to DVD with the subtitles?
Go to the Subtitles tab in the Clip Editor as shown in the picture, activate a subtitle stream by checking the box in the Subtitles list, then click on the "Edit menu" button and select "Import". You can then select your .srt file and all the subtitles should show up.
Now I have a new problem.I can get the subtitles to appear when I do as you instructed above, but when I choose to go the clip editor,so that I can create chapters, the subtitles are gone..??
>The subtitles won't show up in the cut-edit window, but don't worry they're there.
>
>You'll be able to see them in the Simulation Stage.
>how come I can see the subtitles in the simulation stage but whenever the output stage starts I can't see the subtitles anymore even in the output file?
please help me. :(
By default, the subtitles are "off". You'll have to go to your DVD's subtitles menu page and select the subtitle you want to use, just like a store-bought DVD.
I am doing my first multi-track project on TMPGEnc. I have two, approx 2 hour AVI's thatI'm hoping somehow to get on the same disc. But how do I get them appear on the same page? Also, I only want to use one menu page, not two?
To make things easy, you can select how many thumbnails you want on a menu page and then it will only show layouts with that amount of thumbnails. Then just choose the one appropriate for you.
Layout "#02 4:3/16:9(D)" is text only. See pic: http://i47.tinypic.com/vo1uuq.png
