How do I keep the suited audio source untouched? like if I wanne keep a suited mvid with flac format.

possible? and if not, is the best approach then just to choose Linear PCM (1536) if I dont wanne loose any audio quality?

tkrave  2012-07-03 07:32:51 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can try demuxing the file into separate audio and video files, then convert your video stream to the desired format. After that, mux the new video stream with the old audio stream.

Assume there is a simple way for the TMPGenc system to take screenshots of a possible encode result, so I cant compare the result against other encodes of the same vid.

like a place where I put in some frame-numbers, so it takes screenshots of that frame(s) and save it?

tkrave  2012-07-03 07:31:23 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

After you load a clip, right-click the preview screen and there's an option to save the current frame as an image.
I think if you double-click the timecode area, you can input a specific timecode or frame number.

I have upgraded to TAW 5 from 4 can I use my old templates or those are incompatible?

tkrave  2012-06-26 02:31:22 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I think if you find the template file in the templates folder, you can rename the extension to .taw5mt, then load it into TAW5 and it should work.

sverkalo  2012-06-26 03:09:58 ( ID:qscnbd2cioj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have just delete them...

sverkalo  2012-06-26 03:25:49 ( ID:qscnbd2cioj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are there going to be more free templates as with TAW4?
Because I bought a template and now it's useless.

tkrave  2012-06-26 04:09:48 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes, some are out already. If you bought a TAW4 premium template pack, you can download the TAW5 version for free as long as you still have your TAW4 template serial number.

http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/taw5_template.html

Also, if you have a TAW4 project that used a template that's also available for TAW5, it should be able to load.

sverkalo  2012-06-26 08:20:33 ( ID:qscnbd2cioj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanks the problem is that I have had the Premium 2 so this doesn't qualify for the 1 that's only available for TAW5

marose1  2012-11-28 12:02:06 ( ID:bwzg5wxnhbm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just upgraded from TAW4 to TAW5. Following the advice of tkrave, I copied my custom menu templates from the TAW4 Templates folder into the TAW5 Templates Folder (Folders are under "My Documents") I then renamed the file extension of each of the templates from .TAW4MT to .TAW5MT I then went into TAW5 and was still unable to locate my custom menu templates, even when using the browse feature to go to the TAW5 templates folder.

Am I doing something wrong or are the files incompatible with TAW5?

marose1  2012-11-28 22:04:00 ( ID:bwzg5wxnhbm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I discovered my mistake. I renamed the TAW4 custom menu file extensions from .tda4mt to .tda5mt I should have renamed them from .tda4mt to .taw5mt After doing this and placing the renamed files in the TAW5 template folder (My Documents/tmpgenc Authoring Works 5/Template), my TAW4 custom menu templates worked in TAW5.

Question - TAW4 - clip total bit rate too high No.66346
kkingccrimson  2012-06-25 06:19:07 ( ID:z2gxdntoxer )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When I click on start output,it tells me that the the clip total bit rate(which is 9948) is too high for a DVD-video.
Is it possible to make the bit rate smaller,so that I can get it to fit on a DVD?

tkrave  2012-06-26 04:15:51 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can change the bitrate for each track.
Go to the Source stage and click on the "Settings" button for the track with the high bitrate.
Go to the Video tab and change the Encoder mode to "Re-encode all videos as below".
Change the max bitrate and bitrate as necessary.

Question - TAW4 - Latest version will not install No.66344
Herb Swift  2012-06-25 02:56:58 ( ID:xtviamxxxxj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I cannot seem to complete installation of the latest version of Authoring Works:

TAW4_Retail_4.1.4.51_setup_en.exe

Each time I try, the installation ends with this message:

Error 1326.Error getting file Security:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\TMPGEnc\TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4\GetLastError: 5

I've tried disabling my AV software and setting compatibility options, which I have never had to do before, but no success. This is the first time ever, in several years of ownership, that I've had an issue installing TMPGEnc software.

Anybody else having this problem?

Herb Swift  2012-06-25 03:05:57 ( ID:xtviamxxxxj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Disregard. On a whim, I navigated to the folder in the error message and found that all of my TMPGEnc products' folders (except Instant Show Presenter for some reason), had little locks on their icons. I checked the security settings and found that only my user ID was allowed to write to the folder. I changed this to Everyone and the software installed. =D

Now I just need to figure out what changed the security settings. >-(

Question - TME3 - importing wtv files No.66342
db1065  2012-06-24 04:48:27 ( ID:pfjksacqr2c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just loaded the trial version, and am very satisfied with its performance exept for one minor item. According to the specs, the software should be able to import wtv files, but it won't. It is not a major issue, as I can load the converted dvr-ms file. Before purchasing the retail version I would like to know if this is just a feature not available in the trial version? Also, before installing the retail version, should the trial version be uninstalled?

spiral  2012-07-05 18:25:58 ( ID:uexq2jhhhql )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

This depends on your .wtv video stream, if it has an MP4 AVC video stream is not possible to import since MPEG Editor 3 can only import based MPEG-2 video stream files, so you may need to import .wtv files only containing such video stream.

Also check about other points mentioned here:
http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tme3_operation.html#6
WTV file importation is possible on the computer used to record the file, or on computer able to create this type of file. Recordings copy-protected by a DRM scheme cannot be imported. Only WTV files containing MPEG-2 video and MP2 audio can be imported.

Question - TAW5 BBS - How In The World To Make This File BluRay Compliant?!?! No.66341
bmccollum  2012-06-23 14:22:24 ( ID:g01ylggvbdo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have 2 years worth of video shot with a Samsung high def video camera.

The video clips I'm trying to assemble within TAW5 literally result in TAW5 telling me it'll take 50-60 hours in order to re-encode everything.

I've included MediaInfo data from a short clip (below). I know that the Level of Main@L4.2 can't be higher than Main@L4.1. I have software that states it has successfully converted this clip to Main@L4.1. I know the audio format of AAC isn't BluRay compatible. When I demux the video file to separate video/audio files and just try to use the demuxed video file that's had its level changed down to Main@L4.1, TAW5 *still* informs me that it has to do a full re-encoding of the file.

At my wits end. I have tons of video footage from the past 2 years and don't feel in any way or shape or fashion that I can *easily* get it into TAW5 in order to create a BluRay without 50-60 hours of re-encoding or "full rendering" of a bunch of files that, in my opinion, seem to be converted in such a way that they're not BluRay compliant.

Here's the MediaInfo info. below. Any help / direction / recommendations at all are greatly appreciated.

Is that media info for the video that's been converted to level 4.1? Because it still shows level 4.2.

Maybe you should just bite the bullet and start re-encoding with TAW5 or whatever else you're using. You'd probably be done by now if you started a week ago.
Start small if you don't want to wait the entire 60 hours; just re-encode a few files at a time and don't make a menu. You can then import the outputted files into a new project, and they should smart render since they'll be Blu-ray/AVCHD compliant.

Blizzard  2012-06-26 11:55:11 ( ID:8l//1xjzpnf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are you sure it stays showing 60 hours ? Mine starts showing 60 hours too as the ETA, but then within 20 minute it is down to 6 hours.

Here's info. on a short video using MediaInfo. TAW5 insists on doing a full re-encoding of this video.

Question - TAW5 BBS - How to Use FFMPEG to Convert Video/Audio No.66338
bmccollum  2012-06-22 05:08:20 ( ID:lxrpqd7tfsc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have a file from my high def camcorder that's not BluRay compliant. The level of the recorded video is "Main@L5.1" and I need to convert it to "Main@L4.1".

I believe this can be done with the free FFMPEG utility.

Additionally, the audio is recorded using AAC. I believe I need to convert this to A3C.

Can I use FFMPEG and do the video conversion and audio conversion with a single command line or will the video level conversion be one command line and the audio conversion from AAC to A3C be a separate command line.

Thanks for any direction, examples, etc.

I have batches that I want to run from the command line, how do I do it?

For example: I have a batch My-MP4-Video.tvmw5

would I use a command line like this to start the batch encoder:

c:\>TMPGEncVMW5BatchTask.exe My-MP4-Video.tvmw5

or

c:\>TMPGEncVMW5BatchTask.exe My-MP4-Video.tvmw5 START

Thank you!

Also, I need to start this from the command line!

Question - TE30 - TMPGEnc 3 on Windows7 No.66335
happyman  2012-06-21 17:08:53 ( ID:kxsis6cspun )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Has anyone got TMPGEnc 3 working on Windows7 64bit? I just bought a new PC, and installed the software, but it doesn't recognise the drive? I've tried swapping in my old DVD writer, but it still isn't recognised.

Is there a patch or something that will make it work with Win7?

Thanks
