Question - TE40 - TMPGenc Xpress 4.7 No.59112
Judy  2009-11-02 14:43:56 ( ID:1jzoinphdjo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi
I have TMPGenc Xpress 4.7 and when Add file a message come up sayinf that it can only play the part. I have Window Vista and the .AVI files play on my VLC player no problems. Can some tell me what is the problem. Thanks

tkrave  2009-11-02 17:52:35 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Does it play in Windows Media Player? That's a somewhat more accurate gauge to see if it'll work in 4.0 XPress or not.

Judy  2009-11-03 15:16:44 ( ID:1jzoinphdjo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

No it can not play on Window Media

tkrave  2009-11-03 18:19:06 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try to check what codec the video uses. You can check the codec information in VLC by going to the Tools menu and selecting Codec Information. You can also use programs like GSpot to find out the codec information. It's possible that the video is playable with one of VLC's codecs, but you don't have the actual codec installed, which is why it won't play in Windows Media Player and 4.0 XPress.

After you've found which codec the video uses, find it on the internet, download it and install it. Then see if your video plays in Windows Media Player and 4.0 XPress.

Question - TAW4 - Support for .mtv files No.62324
vanpsmtg  2009-11-01 15:58:26 ( ID:befkjjdhcnk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Will there be support for .wtv video files in future releases. The wtv file is the defalt format used in recorded videos in Windows 7 Media Center. I would like to be able to burn some recorded TV programs to DVD without having to go through the process of first converting them to dvr-ms and then to avi to get them to work in Authoring Works 4.
Thanks

vanpsmtg  2009-11-02 17:52:44 ( ID:befkjjdhcnk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

In case tgere is anyone out there with the same issue, I have found a simple solution. There is a free app called WTV Converter that converts WTV files to a DVR-MS file that Aythoring Works 4 can import. It takes a long time to load but once it does it can be edited just fine.
It can be downloaded at:
http://forums.vso-software.fr/convert-wtv-to-dvd-new-mce-windows-7-video-format-t9479.html

I am attemting to make an iPhone/iTouch comaptible video.

The video looks good but I get a "pulsing effect", about once per second.
It only happens when I use the 2-pass VBR setting...

could be the added frame into the video, so the repeat few frames per second could give the pulsing effect.

>could be the added frame into the video, so the repeat few frames per second could give the pulsing effect.

What added frame? Could you be more specific?

TIA

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-10-31 00:26:35 ( ID:/mc2urzlila )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

if you have an original video which is different to the frame rate you have encoded to it will either reduce the frames per second or add them.

diaphote  2009-11-06 19:42:18 ( ID:/9my1dyax76 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This is probably what's known as 'key-pop'. In format settings, under AVC change the GOP length from the default 33 frames to something longer -- 150 frames. If the effect is still there, at least it will occur at 5 second intervals instead of every 33 frames.

Question - TE40 - How can i watermark videos With text thats slanted No.59100
thrillz  2009-10-27 18:02:45 ( ID:vx1zs2/ah9k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i notice Videocharge studio has great watermark features for videos

I want to add text slanted on my videos on tmpgenc. but they only have vertical and horizontal styles no slanted. any1 know how i can make watermark text slanted

tkrave  2009-10-27 22:27:46 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Not possible. There's no true watermark option in 4.0 XPress; you can only use the subtitle function which is quite limited as I'm sure you've found out. It would be nice if you could use an image as a watermark, but a watermark feature just doesn't exist right now. It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to implement since the trial version adds a watermark to all encoded video.
I've requested this before so hopefully they're listening.

well ive also asked them to do several things like enable logo/subtitle blurring, just like edit studio but with function like msu filter. and the moron came back with "oh there is" it turned out that it blurred the whole damned screen lol.

would also be nice if they added filters like with adobe primer pro where you can tilt and re do angels and then with sony vegas where it allows the rotation dn crop

Question - TAW4 - Error message after starting burn No.62318
janlafata  2009-10-27 00:31:01 ( ID:fvoxm4xv6h. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have isn't Basic x64 and TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4.02.14. It has worked flawless for me for the last few months, until now. All of a sudden after I set up my options in "Output" which included having the writer settings at maximum, when I click start, it runs for a few seconds then I get an error message that says "Access is denied (error code 0x80070005)"

Luckily I poked around and discovered that, by setting my writer settings from Maximum to 16, that it would work, but lately even doing that gets an error message, but I've found that by hitting start again everything works fine and my burn gets done.

I don't know why this is happening now after all of these months. I haven't changed anything in Windows that I think would affect DVD burning. I did Google this and may people say the error means that the files are in use by another program, but I don't see how that could be it.

Also I did try updating to version 4.4.24 but for some reason I could not get it to run. I also though that maybe I need a firmware upgrade on my two DVD burners but firmware is hard to find for the LG brand.

I suppose a registry entry or two may have gotten deleted and I could always do a reinstall.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-10-27 09:06:13 ( ID:k35eburmzjh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

this error is really strange becuase it to do with space on your hdd, and its tupid becuase this error only goes away when you have a good 100gb if using a 750gb drive.

well thats how ive dealt with it after getting rid of files.

janlafata  2009-10-27 18:14:31 ( ID:fvoxm4xv6h. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

So your saying you think I don't have enough free hard drive space and that the error will go away if I have 100 GB's free? I don't know if that's possible to do. Currently I have about 30 GB's free on a 75 GB partition.

The thing is, it ran fine for quite a while with that configuration. I'm more inclined to believe that it could be a missing registry entry or something, I will probably just end up reinstalling.

One other thing...I read where that error can also be related to more than one program using a file at the same time and I did just install a new program for downloading Rapidshare links called JDownloader.

I looked in default programs and saw that JDownloader is default for several types of files like .ccf,.dlc, .metalink and ,rsdf files, though I don't think any of those would conflict with TMPGEnc.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-10-28 06:46:22 ( ID:k35eburmzjh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

what im saying is that my experince with this issues has shown that its a bloody stupid odd one where the software decided it wants space it doesnt need to carry out the operation.

ive wanted my stuff to happen with say 40gb spare on the hdd, and then i have had to either shift or delete files to make a good 100gb spare space and then the problems gne...no idea why it just seems to work

janlafata  2009-10-28 19:56:31 ( ID:fvoxm4xv6h. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well I always usually have a very cleaned out system anyway, as I constantly am cleaning things out using Tracks Eraser or CCleaner. But you said something about "Shift" Does that mean hold down the Shift key or something.

Request - TE40 - PAL DVD w/ menu to NTSC No.59098
radiorog  Home )  2009-10-27 00:24:00 ( ID:pszkxtffkjl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have some PAL DVDs that include menus (British TV shows). I can't seem to find a way to convert them to NTSC that keeps the top menu intact. I would think if there's any way to do it, TMPG would have one. But I can't find it.

Any help is much appreciated.

Radiorog

tkrave  2009-10-27 01:11:10 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

4.0 XPress won't import menus, only the video/audio content.

drsrin  2010-06-25 16:00:45 ( ID:pskkhkzygtn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I wont explain the whole process here but it's rather easy using IFOEDIT (free)(www.ifoedit.com) and the original DVD files. Backup the .IFO and .BUP files so you can revert if you have to. This wont mess with the VOBs.

Look on www.videohelp.com for doing this. Look for the quick method. It will covert PAL to NTSC and maintain all menu functionality and takes around 5 to 10 minutes after some practice. The only problem will be the menu buttons, when selected, the highlighting will be below the menu item on some DVDs but it works fine in any case.

Question - TME3 - DVD-RAM Editing and Burning No.61186
Mista Bumpy  2009-10-26 21:04:54 ( ID:dwi3d3gqita )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Aloha! I would like to know if the DVD-RAM files I edit in MPEG Editor 3 can then be burned to an ordinary DVD-R disc, or if they have to be copied back to a DVD-RAM disc? In other words, can I convert these RAM files to DVD-R? Email me if you want.

Mahalo!

Request - TAW4 - support for authoring H.264 bluray disks without reencoding No.62315
africanmarty  2009-10-25 20:08:09 ( ID:9ve7sb5ied2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

tmpgenc authoring works 4 work great creating mpeg2 bluray disks without reencoding however why is their no option to create h.264 bluray disks ? i use the spurs engine to harware encode mpge2 and h264. but using mpeg2 the video bitrate must be used at max (32Mb/s) for it to look any good. please add support for creation h264 blurays **without reencoding to mpeg2** in a future release.

tkrave  2009-10-27 01:48:16 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It's unknown why they didn't put it in from the get-go, but I'm sure they're working on it since there have been numerous requests for this...at least that's what I'm hoping. They'd be crazy not to include it.

africanmarty  2009-10-29 06:37:59 ( ID:9ve7sb5ied2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

lets hope so :) but i wont be surprised if it doesn't happen.

Question - TAW4 - How can we add Multiple Clips then edit all at once No.62313
matt@missile.com.au  2009-10-25 06:27:17 ( ID:wvawrvupmu. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

In the past with a Tape based Camcorder I would create a raw DVD, then import the VOB files and pretty much be able to edit the whole thing in one go. Quick and easy. I now have a HD camcorder that records to SDCard, and each "shot" is a separate file. So there can be over 200 or 300 files of 1 to 20 seconds each per standard DVD. Rather than copying onto a DVD first (using an ordinary DVD recorder) I thought I would import the files direct (from copies on the computer's hard drive) for better quality, as this is what one is supposed to do anyway. But you then have single tracks with 99 short clips, each of which has to be looked at using the edit button, played, edited if necessary and then saved again- taking over an hour per 99 clips on average, where the other method took about 20 minutes because one can just "skim through" a lot of the footage. (Thee is also the problem of having over 99 clips by the finish, and so exceeding the track limit)
I thought the "linking" the clips option would let me import all files as a single editable clip, but it doesn't seem to do this. So how can it be done ? or can't it.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-10-26 03:35:54 ( ID:k35eburmzjh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i dont know if this will work, but if the recorded format is mpeg-2 etc, import each file into dgindex and then press ok after you have added all of them.

then what you do is select demux audio and video this will then give you a video file and audio, then just import the two into dvd authour.

Question - TME3 - edit MKV file No.61184
Meandyouwith2003  2009-10-23 11:50:03 ( ID:r6ggwuhos/m )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

hello...
i need to know does TMPGEnc Mpeg Editor or EMPGEnc XPress open video files with mkv extension ?
i couldn't open this files on TMPGEnc Mpeg Editor 2. does it works on EMPGEnc Mpeg Editor 3?

Thanks...

tkrave  2009-10-24 02:36:52 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am pretty sure MPEG Editor 3 will not be able to open mkv files. However, TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress can open them with the appropriate codecs installed.

Bug report - TE40 - Encoding randomly stops at the end of a clip sometimes No.59096
Squashy  2009-10-22 13:44:03 ( ID:70w8za3dvlc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hey guys, just bought TMPGEnc.

I have an issue.

I'm encoding a lot of separate clips into a bunch of separate mpg files. At first, it's going great, but then all of a sudden it stops. It never stops at a percentage less than 100%, it just fills the blue bar all the way up, and then doesn't seem to want to load the next clip and start encoding.

There's no error message or anything, and my Elapsed time is constantly increasing.

I don't get the "finished" dialog box either. All of the menu bar buttons at the top are ghosted out except for "Options"

Thanks!

Ted  2009-11-12 05:56:31 ( ID:fw9sde9qbrg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

One of your clips my be corrupted. It may not be enough to affect playback, but it is affecting the encoding process. Try load them into the batch encode tool as individual clips.
