When I click on the tracks button in the main menu, it opens up another window and there are the thumbnail's for whatever file(s) I have in there. How do I get rid of the thumbnails and just have text?
I had been using the custom menu's but must have missed the step or option that allows me to select text-only menu's. Do you recall exactly at what point in the options that comes up?
In this example, I selected a layout with two thumbnails for the top menu, and 4 text items for the track menu. For each thumbnail layout, there is a corresponding text-only layout.
I am trying to import my HDV tapes but the "Capture from HDV/DV Camcorder" Source wizard keeps stopping at each gap in the tape and I have to keep pressing the "Start Capture" button. I have about 3 seconds of blank footage in between some shots on my tape.
Is there any way I can increase the giveup time limit to 10 seconds rather than the current 1 second? Or just force the program to import the whole tape even if it finds empty footage?
Thanx for your input "tkrave". It will be nice if they add it to TMPG Enc 4,0 Express. My sattelite reciver is recording in TS files on the harddrive inside the reciver. I want to convert them into *.MKV, and store it in my TVIX multimedia player.
if its not a space issue then its a hdd issue, ie there is soemthign wrong with the hardware.
i woudl use tunetup utilities to scan the file system on the hdd and also scan for bad sectors, and then during reboot it will go througha process to repair.
Since this question is a month and a half old, you may well have found a solution and just didn't report it here. I had the same problem with over 750GB of free storage space, but I resolved it. Check your virtual memory settings on your computer and increase them manually if necessary, or increase your physical memory. If you don't have much physical memory and don't have enough virtual memory, it will throw this error regardless of how much physical storage space you have available. I posted about this already in another thread.
Hi,
this is my first time posting so you will excuse me if i am not up to speed.
I am using a PC runnig XP service pack 3.
I have the latest version of tmpeg installed 4.7.3.292.
I am trying to create a template that will allow me to convert a video file to an mpeg2 file with an odd pixel size 1672 x 471.
I am finding it hard to get tmpeg to accept these settings.
I can change the pixel size and bitrate but cannot get the program to save this as a template,i know mpeg2 has a maximim and minimum pixel,
Some of the setting i am using in the format section are
Output stream type-ES (video Only)
Bitrate-12000
Dispaly Mode-Progressive
GOP -I frames only
These settings have been given to me and are required for the media to work in the device i am using.
Hi,
figured it out with some help.
Under the profile tab i needed to change the profile and level to "MP@HL"
to allow the pixel size to be at the settings required.
I'm using tmpgenc4 with the spurs engine and it's great for fast encodes but does not live up to the max potential that the bluray spec has to offer.. the bluray spec allows for 40,000 kpbs video bitrate and 8,000 audio bitrate with the video codecs mpeg2,AVC(h.264) and VC-1. But tmpgenc4 only offers a bluray option in the mpeg2 format ( wich is the worst compression codec of the three ) why not offer a spurs engine option for bluray AVC(H.264) ??? i'm sure this could be implemented as the spurs engine cards support mpeg2 aswell as AVC(H.264). Another problem is the with the bluray Mpeg2 profile the video bitrate has a max bitrate of 32,000 kbps... why not the max possible video bitrate of 40,000 kbps ??? since the mpeg2 compression is qiute bad to begin with, i think thr extra 8,000 kbps would help. Just my thoughts.. what do you guys think ??
corect me if im wrong here but for avc would you choose the quicktime codecs toe ncode to .
and yes its rather odd for them not to include this in the bluray template settings.
and for the windows 7, would you not think its rather odd for a company to let a trail version work and then not have the master version not work on windows 7?
I received the following email from tmpgenc4 staff when i emailed them about the above issue.
"Dear Mr. Wichtmann,
Maybe, you can still create you own BD ouput profile by using the
Generic MPEG-4 output as a base then adapt the encoder settings to the
requirements of the BD format.
In MPEG-2, the maximum bitrate is 32,000 kb/s.
Yours Sincerely,
Olivier Graves."
However the mpeg2 spec states :
MP@HL can do 1920x1080 at up to 30fps with a bitrate up to 80Mbps in either Progressive and Interlaced formats.
MP@HL can do 1280x720 at up to 60fps with a bitrate up to 80Mbps in Progressive formats.
However tmpgenc4 using the spurs engine output maxes out at a video bitrate of 32Mbps in MP@HL in either of the above mentioned settings. If you wont give us a AVC(h.264) bluray profile why not just max out the video bitrate of the bluray mpeg2 profile to that of the max bluray spec and have the Mpeg2 bluray profile MP@HL have the ability to raise the video bitrate up to 40Mbps.
I have created a dvd menu and of each sub-menu for the chapters there is a play button..I have tried to remove it under display item for the dvd meuns BUT it does NOT delete properly..I have taken the font and made it 0. and then moves the box to off the screen. any ideas??
When I output my project in BD format, it appears to create the necessary folders/structure.
However when I burn to disc and try to play the movie it won't play - for example PowerDVD says the disc is in Unsupported format.
I'm trying to recode a simple avi file but use a different audio source that needs to be delayed. When I choose ANY delay value the first ~10 seconds of the video is silent, then the audio kicks in. Weird thing is that the audio is not starting at the beginning of the audio clip. It is starting at the same spot it would if I had chosen a zero vaue delay. Negative delay is working though.
I am totally perplexed. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried diffent formats for the audio source too.
Thanks.
