I'm converting a bunch of .wmv files to DVD format using TMPGAuthor 3. What happens is I get the message: "Stream reading error (error code: 0x80068001)". The error message appears at different times whenever I try to run the output, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with reading any specific .wmv file. I'm converting everything over to 352x240 with VBR avg bitrate of 1500 kb/s and 8000 kb/s max. I am encoding 6 hours worth of video over 2 titles. There are 99 chapters in the first title and 85 chapters in the second title. What I've found on the net for this error (which wasn't much) is that it appears TMPGAuthor version 3 seems to have an issue with encoding multiple-title DVDs. If this is truly the case, then I find this to be unfortunate, as I've made lots of these kind of DVDs using the older version 1.5 with no issues. Unfortunately, if I want to go back to 1.5 I'll have to convert all the .wmv files to .mpg first (since 1.5 doesn't accept .wmv files), as well as reauthor the entire DVD.
I've also tried running this conversion on my laptop, but I get the same error message; once again in a random spot. This eliminates any potential hardware issues on my desktop PC. Disk space is also not a problem, but if that were the case then I'd be getting a "Stream writing error" message. ;)
Has anybody else had this error? I'm using the latest version of TMPGAuthor 3 but I don't see anything in the release notes indicating that this bug was found and/or fixed.
Are you doing 2 pass VBR encoding? I have found that every time I do 2 pass VBR encoding of a .ASF file, I get a similar error to this (don't have the exact error now) but if I switch to 1 pass VBR, the same .ASF file encodes fine.
I used to be able to use TMPGEnc Xpress 4.0 to convert videos from my camera to WMV. Now they are all jittery. This is since the latest update to TMPGEnc. I can provide a short sample if you want.
I'm having the same problem. I own a Panasonic Lumix FX-520 digital camera that shoots progressive QT Motion JPEG 30fps video and never had a problem. Now I upgraded to a Panasonic Lumix LX-3 digital camera that shoots progressive QT Motion JPEG 24fps video, and all my videos are jerky when converted in TMPG 4.0 Xpress, no matter the frame rate I try to choose and settings! :(
I have a MPEG1 file that can be played just fine, but I can't cut it after the 45 minute mark. For example, I can tell TMPEGEnc to make a new file that contains 00:05:00-00:06:00 or 00:15:00-00:19:00, but not a new file that contains 00:55:00-00:59:00 or 01:10:00-01:15:00 (I then get the aforementioned error, because it's a segment that is above 45:00).
Demuxing and re-muxing it made no difference (tried doing it in multiple programs), but I've finally managed to solve it via the exclusive "Repacketize" feature in M2-Edit Pro. Now it's editable in TMPGEnc. Why is that?
Yes, when you enter into the edit mode, go to filters, and make sure deinterlace is checked. Then you must set "24p (high-motion)" and "inverse pulldown" and then you can get rid of the jerky playback.
Hallo. I want editing files .TRP in HD format (not MPEG) that cames from my Clarke 5000 (Sat receiver with recording).
I convert TRP in M2TS and import it in TMPGENC XPRESS and I use tools for cut commercial spot.
At the end of the editing, I want save the new M2TS but without any format conversion, only a direct stream copy.
Is it possible ?
Thanks.
I want to specify a GOP size of 15
I frames per GOP=1,
P-frames per GOP=5,
B-frames per GOP=2,(should be renamed B-frames per P-frame)
Max.frames per GOP=15,
I get out a stream with GOP size = 16.
No matter what I choose for max frames per GOP (like 1 through 30),
this value is not respected anymore.
I can have GOP size=13 with P-frames per GOP=4,
but not 15.
Instable after changing settings completely up and down.
Now testing with the same settings I=1 ;P=5 ;B=2 ;Max=15
and all I'm getting out is GOP size 13.(before it was 16.)
Furthermore: the outcoming GOP structure is not correctly represented anymore
by the IBBPBB...pattern window.
Only changes in I,P,B Open are reflected here, not Max.
But setting a max of 6 got me after encoding a GOP of 4
after checking in GSpot 2.70a.
So max setting does something, but not as expected.

I think there is a bug in TMPG 4.0 Xpress an rendering 24fps Progressive Video! :(

Is it possible to start playing movie from divx menu with PLAY button? I only manage to do that with OK button on the remote control. For some reason I would realy like to have that.
i use divx to encode the video. i simply choose multipass, first pass and encode the video and then multipass, nth pass and encode again, when i start to encode the nth pass it tells me that the file is already exist and overwrite the file. is it ok? is it the right way?
