Request - TAW5 BBS - Choice of using FFDSHOW for decoding AVC No.66119
Persen  2012-04-25 11:11:18 ( ID:as4qxzcqqln )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

One thing i would like to see added to a future version of TAW-5, is the choice of using FFDSHOW as the decoder for AVC video, since neither the Standard decoder or Intel Media SDK can decode a few HD movies propperly, who is recorded via DVB-C.

In scenes with very shiny objects or flashlights directed towards the screen. Standard decoder causes very large white/gray pixel error fields.
Using the Intel Media SDK as decoder, causes minor pixel errors in the very same type of scenes as described above.

How ever, playing the videos in question with my media player, where FFDSHOW takes care of the decoding, then the videos are just fine.

tkrave  2012-04-26 08:42:05 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I think this is possible if you disable the MPEG file reader in the preferences.

Go to Options-->Preferences-->Input/output format list-->File input plug-in, then uncheck the MPEG file reader. You might have to uncheck everything above the DirectShow file reader.

Persen  2012-04-28 13:23:19 ( ID:as4qxzcqqln )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Looks like your solution actually works. After changing the settings there, i just have to import the .ts files 'as is', then i can see that my Haali Media Splitter, FFDSHOW audio and video decoder also loads.

Thanks for the tip.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Add Thumbnail To Menu No.66118
javabean  2012-04-25 07:14:06 ( ID:adi7nxri5vf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i am trying out the trial version of "Authoring Works 5"... I have 3 files i want to burn to 1 DVD. Am I right to assume that every file should have its own track?

Also I want to add a thumbnail from each file to the menu. I get a black screen but sound on the playback in attempting to pick my thumbnail

I am only using a top menu.

Thanks in advance.

tkrave  2012-04-26 07:05:30 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Put clips in separate tracks if you want to play each one separately.
Putting them all in one track will make them play consecutively by default (though there is a new feature which allows you to go back to the menu after a specific chapter).

Typically a black preview screen means that the video overlay mode needs to be disabled or enabled. In older versions of the software, you would right-click the preview screen and toggle the overlay mode. In this latest version, that option appears to be gone, but it may have simply been renamed. Try right-clicking the preview screen and disable/enable "Use fast rendering mode".

Question - TAW5 BBS - Smart rendering h264 hd still does not work properly No.66116
Rick0725  2012-04-25 00:51:37 ( ID:.qui0lgypoj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The upgrade from 4/23 has not fixed the smart rendering issue. the original video file, avchd h264 hd from my sony camera had a bitrate of about 16000 kb. the outputted file had a bit rate greater than 18000 kbs video. there was no menu, But I used a 24 bit 2304 khz audio file in place of the original 256 hz audio file.

Rick

tkrave  2012-04-25 05:37:50 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are you saying that it was marked as a smart renderable file but was full rendered on output? Or is it marked as FR in the Source stage?

What is the framerate of your video?

I found that I have issues smart rendering some (but not all) 24fps HD video, while all of my 29.97 and 59.94 fps videos smart render without problem.

Rick0725  2012-04-26 09:11:14 ( ID:jclnxwz1jm2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Video
SR
MPEG4 AVC
1920x1080
29.97
16442 kbs

audio
SR
Linear Pcm
48000 hz
24 bit
2304 kbs

output
19068 total-2304 audio=16664 video

I guess it is close enough.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - how to put video from one mpeg and audio to another together No.66108
Gretchen  2012-04-23 10:25:28 ( ID:us3849llpg6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am trying to take the audio from one mpeg file and combine it with video in another file, but i hace 4.0 express and it won't recognize a wave file or m2p to combine. Does 5.0 do this?

ED  2012-04-24 06:32:50 ( ID:ekwrq0qo7sa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just download their trial and see for your self, 4.0 express was coveter, v5.0 is video editor and converter too so two-in-one.
v5.0 it will fix your problem :)

Question - TAW5 BBS - Save as mpg file? No.66098
cam122  2012-04-22 01:00:53 ( ID:k.69e4buxkk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi all,

I am trying to use TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5 to import video from a DVD RAM (.vro file) to my computer. TMPGEnc recognizes the multiple clips on the video (whenever the camera was stopped and restarted I assume) and imports them successfully. But I have not been able to find a way to then save each clip as a separate mpg file (or any video file format for the matter) and I'm wondering if this is even possible. If not, do you have any reccomendations on alternative software to do this? Its critical to me that the software automatically recognizes each clip and allow me to save each one as separate files without having to manual tell it where to split the video. Thanks in advance!

Chris

Some NLEs (but not all) state they have the ability to do automatic scene detection and divide video into separate clips based on changes in image content. Liquid, Pinnacle Studio were some that claimed to be able to do it. However, I've not tried it, but suspect the results would be mixed and fooled by events such as a camera flash or scene changes with minimal change in on-screen content.

Question - TAW4 - Audio Sync Issue No.66097
RDS11  2012-04-21 11:09:35 ( ID:zzvgpo82sd6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm importing fully edited mpeg2 into TMPEGEnc AW to create a blu-ray disc. All files have the SR icon next to to them, should be smart-rendered. The only thing I want to do is add a few chapters to the video and create a menu.

All goes fine, but the final output has audio sync issues. The audio is not re-encode, it just jump ahead of the video at some point.

When I compare the original file and the output side-by-side (using Videoredo). The audio is perfectly in sync at first. Then, at some point it jumps by one and a half frame (45 ms). It stays like that until later on it jumps by another frame and a half. At that poin, the issue is starting to show.

What can I do so the audio will stay in place ?

Question - TAW5 BBS - "Resume" button on menu. Possible now? No.66094
Nick Hope  Home )  2012-04-20 16:22:33 ( ID:sknxx6lceec )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

One thing I disliked about TAW4 was that I couldn't find a way to put a "Resume" button on the menus like I can in Sony DVD Architect.

Is this now possible in TAW5? Or does someone know of a way to do it in TAW4?

Thanks!

tkrave  2012-04-21 03:27:41 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Nope. Menus are pretty much the same as TAW4, structure-wise.

Bug report - TVMW5 BBS - Bitrate Problem No.66090
sverkalo  2012-04-20 07:33:58 ( ID:zphl8zwp41g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Each time I use mpeg4 preset with CBR the bitrate is being set to 15000kbps no matter what bitrate I choose.
This is only when I use Intel SDK Hardware at both my laptop Intel QuickSync
or my deksktop Virtu system.

ED  2012-04-23 06:53:57 ( ID:ekwrq0qo7sa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can use "Advanced: MPEG Output" to change the bitrate

See those Phots:
1st: http://i40.tinypic.com/52f33l.png

2- http://i43.tinypic.com/sy9hzn.png
Now you can change bitrate

I hope this can help :)

sverkalo  2012-04-23 09:41:18 ( ID:zphl8zwp41g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thank you.
But till now this was working fine.
I haven't had to override the standard mpeg4 settings for that.
I don't understand why the setting for the bitrate is stuck to 15.000.

tkrave  2012-04-24 07:19:32 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This only happens when you use Intel SDK hardware? Does it work fine using the other encoders?

sverkalo  2012-04-26 06:39:14 ( ID:zphl8zwp41g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes. And only with CBR.
VBR works fine...

Question - TAW5 BBS - AW5 closes down No.66089

Can someone help me please

With Windows 7. when I load a file into AW5 it closes down, it has always done so.

AW4 works OK on win 7. Also AW5 works on Win XP

tkrave  2012-04-20 08:49:48 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've never had this issue on my Win7 64-bit machine. Maybe reinstall TAW5 or run the installer and select the "Repair" option.

maonstad  2012-04-20 12:06:50 ( ID:u0paipzrf7. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I noticed that this versioin isn't supported under Windows 7 64. Any word when it will be supported??? Any operating system that is 64 bit?

don  2012-04-20 21:23:00 ( ID:8o4cienbi6h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

From specs: "*Except for Windows 7, 64 bit versions of operating systems are not supported."

Win7 is the only 64-bit OS that is supported by AW5. It is working on my Win 7-64 system.

Try a reinstall.

Question - TVMW5 BBS - Updated version available (5.2.3.66) No.66088
Bob  2012-04-20 04:47:21 ( ID:5naf9/4evxn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I see there is an updated version available -- version 5.2.3.66 (March 13)

Having just bought TVMW-5 early this year, I've never installed an update of it on my machine. Do I just download the new version and run the setup again? Will it keep all of my custom settings?

Thanks.

tkrave  2012-04-20 08:48:26 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes. It should keep your custom settings and any output templates you've created.
And you don't need to uninstall the old version.

Question - TAW5 BBS - Import files from Video Mastering 5 No.66081
Natalino  2012-04-16 02:57:17 ( ID:mzzs8/8plqh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I created files for BluRay to mpeg 2 with TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 I've imported into TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5 to create menus and disc and the same are re-encoded again with a bit rate of less than 8000 "editable" smart rendering in this way it becomes useless software Video Mastering 5.
There is no way to prevent Authoring Works 5 redo the encoding?
The use of Video Mastering 5 has been necessary to use filters
"Sorry for grammatical errors but I do not speak English well"

tkrave  2012-04-19 04:40:18 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have been able to import Blu-ray compliant MPEG-2 created by Video Mastering Works 5 into Authoring Works 5 and it will smart render properly.

Are you sure you selected Blu-ray as your output format in Authoring Works 5? That bitrate is a little low.

Natalino  2012-04-22 04:44:11 ( ID:c/1adiei5jl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

We hereby confirm I have used blue ray standard mpeg compilant
I created the file bit rate of about 14000
when importing files created in TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5, the average bit rate is 8000 I tried to set the average bit rate to 14000, but recoding the whole thing and it takes about an hour and a half and a blue ray creandomi with lower bit rate and created disc is free for 25%

Natalino  2012-04-22 04:53:14 ( ID:c/1adiei5jl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Do not automatically set the bi average rate of the imported file, leaving more than 8000 even though this is longer

tkrave  2012-04-24 07:27:23 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Can you post a screenshot of where you're seeing the 8000 bitrate?

It still sounds like you've selected DVD-Video as your output format in AUTHORING WORKS 5 (I'm not talking about the video created with Video Mastering Works 5).

Natalino  2012-04-26 22:06:54 ( ID:c/1adiei5jl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I do not know how to send the screenshot.
Then you say at the outset that the files created with TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 are in Blu Ray PAL 25 fps
amount when they choose in TMPGEnc Authoring Works as a project 5 blue ray PAL select the source files and add in track 1 then I press settings, then video and see the list of features including bitrate strangely I indicates 8000 and does not indicate correctly the bitarate used by TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5.
Then I did a test I converted with TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5, a video file in question blu ray project from PAL to NTSC amount of the file created in TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5, blue ray NTSC project and I correctly marks the bit rate used by TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 which in this case is 13 765
Maybe TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5 does not recognize files created with Mastering in blue ray 5 PAL.
I hope I have been more comprehensive.

tkrave  2012-04-27 03:53:46 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I can't recreate your results. I encoded a file in Video Mastering Works 5 with the Blu-ray PAL output template. This file was then imported into Authoring Works 5 with Blu-ray PAL output. Bitrate is fine and the file smart renders.
http://i45.tinypic.com/t7cytf.png

You can upload your screenshot to tinypic.com and post the link to the image here.

Natalino  2012-04-27 04:35:25 ( ID:c/1adiei5jl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I did some tests and the problem and only in mpeg 2 no x264 720x576 PAL SD resolutions and in the other hand all right, but unfortunately I need to use this format because I am transferring files of old super 8 in blue ray, which makes it pointless to use superiorei resolutions could use x264 but the time for the radoppia econding

tkrave  2012-04-27 11:00:10 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

OK, now I see what the problem. I think it is expecting DVD bitrates, probably because the SD resolutions for Blu-ray were designed for backwards compatibility with DVD-Video.
Encode the video as PAL DVD and it will smart render in Authoring Works 5.

At this point, I'm not sure if this is an error or not. Maybe I can find the Blu-ray official specification somewhere.

nATALINO  2012-04-27 19:23:04 ( ID:mzzs8/8plqh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You'd be right if it did with resolution 720x480 in NTSC at 29.97 fps SD MPEG 2 but rather with the latter TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5 recognizes it as video files for blue ray

If you look at the pictures you'll see that:

authoring of the imported file is recognized as

mp@ml

http://i47.tinypic.com/2v1pxy9.jpg

Mastering 5 correctly encode the video file see image below

tkrave  2012-04-28 07:33:08 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Good catch! Encoding at MP@HL for SD PAL MPEG-2 for Blu-ray seems to be the issue.

A workaround until they fix it is encoding at MP@ML in Video Mastering Works 5; doing so will allow the video to be smart rendered and retain the higher bitrate in Authoring Works 5.

Perfect!
We hope to be terminated because of Mastering 5 and selected @ mp automatic "becomes natural to leave the default" file and output are all @ hl.
