Just started using TMPGEnc author and like a lot of things about it, but I having trouble getting a menu the way I want.

I have a TOP menu with several chapters, one is DOCUMENTS, what I want to do is click on DOCUMENTS, go to a sub menu with 3 different choices, each choice is a collection of several documents. Choosing any of the 3 would take you to another menu displaying all the pages individually for play.

Closest I can get is 2 menu levels and use slideshow, but it does not do what I really want, am I missing something simple here ?

I get the aforementioned error when i try to load the disc writing tool. I have re-installed cleaned the registry and it still comes up. B's recored is started in services. No idea what it could be any help would be appreciated.

Hi. I successfully created an ultra divx with menus. I used DiVX player to test it on the computer and everything works find. But when I try to play it on my DVD/DiVX player it goes straight into the movie. The menus never appear. Just in case I got a philips dvdr3505. Any help would be great.

Your player probably isn't DivX Ultra certified. If it doesn't have the DivX Ultra logo on it, then it won't be able to display the menus.

Is it possible to extract still images from a video clip (mpeg-1) in Editor 2.0 premium?

I'm trying to create a PAL DVD from a 25fps avi file with pcm audio. Everything is fine through the start/source/simulation flow. When I try to create the DVD I get an error "No stream available. (error Code 0x80048001)"
Any ideas what might be wrong ?

Turn off the motion for thumbnails in the chapter section.
You can find it in the "global dvd settings -> motion" and then just uncheck thumbnails.
It definetly worked for me!

Just downloaded a trial version (4.4.2.238) and installed it. I cannot start a "New Project" because of the error. Running XP SP1. What is missing?

I have the same problem on WinXP SP2...

Regretfully, we haven't heard one reply from anybody including TMPGEnc Support.
Therefore I uninstalled mine and shall pursue other options.

yeah seems the lab rats at tmpgenc didnt actually do any checkign before releasing this verison becuase as you can tell it was shafted as soon as you try anything.

This same thing is happening to me. I've reinstalled this thing 3 times already, and nothing works.

is there any possibility to stop an authored DVD movie with the end of each chapter (without jumping to a menu)?

The Movie should stop at the last keyframe of eacht chapter, so that it continues after the user goes on to the next chapter.

We are using 4.0 to encode our videos to HD wmv videos for web. We start with a .mov file created in Final Cut Pro on a Mac and after the video is encoded it ends up being noticably lighter than the original footage. Is there any reason that this is occuring that I am missing?

I have this feeling you viewed the end item via quicktime, if so DONT as for some stupid reason it lightens any video, try viewing it via vlc player or medeia classic player etc.

I downloaded the "TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX® Authoring Menu Templates" looking for something a bit different than what came with my purchase of DVD Author. I found one that almost works perfectly in this package http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/template/tda30_template3.html (The Autumn Moon template).

The only issue with this is the placement of the preview and chapter links. I'd like to move them, but all these items are showing as locked.

Can they be unlocked so they can be moved? If so, how?

Can anyone suggest a way to create or edit the backgroung/button template files?

I have 2 DVI clips ' Flrida trip march 2007 and Florida trip October 2007

I have sucessfully created a Menu, keeping the 2 clips seperate so that I can choose which one.

I have also created 'Unseen chapter breaks' as i'm burning to DVD+R DL

Flrida trip march 2007 (has 17 chapters)

Flrida trip october 2007 (has 38 chapters)

Now I have sucessfully got everything working

But When I choose the first option Flrida trip march 2007 when this clips ends i want it to return to Title Menu' so that i can choose the second clip Flrida trip october 2007

Yet It wont.. It continues into the next clip, as the movie slider has incorperated the clips together (with chapters), even though they are 2 seperate DVI clips with Menus.

If I choose Flrida trip October 2007 its goes to the Title menu but not with Flrida trip march 2007 . I have looked in GLOBAL DVD SETTINGS and I can't see any options.

I have also used the arrow settings so that clip 1, does't go to clip 2, but its not working

Are they in two separate tracks in the Source stage? Check to see if your clips are in the same track, if they are, you need to add a track and then drag the second clip into it.

Hi - - I'm having a problem with tx4, but I get nothing, when I click on the board link.
Perhaps, someone can answer this question here?
I have a video with srt subtitles.
They load fine, in the subtitles filter.
But some of the subs have italics command (<I> & </I>), and when tx4 transcodes, it has the commands over the video, rather than actually making them italics.
Is there any fix for this... or any suggestions?
I was going to edit the commands out, but there were just too many.

I recorded a show from television and used TMPGEnc DVD Author 3.1.1.174 to cut commercials and put on a disc.
When I watched the disc, there was no closed caption.

I had to redo it with my old TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6.26.73. When I watched the disc after using the old version, the closed caption was there.

Can anyone tell me why there was no closed caption when I used the TMPGEnc DVD Author 3.1.1.174? And how I can fix the problem?

NO! I have never received an answer to the closed captioning question.
When I import a show from dvd-rw, the first screen always says no subtitle.
I don't want a subtitle, I want closed caption.
When I import the same show from dvd-rw, using TMPGEnc DVD Author v1.6.34.89,I
always have the closed caption.Why?

I don't mean sub-titles, I mean closed caption.
TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 always says there are no sub-titles anyway.

Only TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6.34.89 always keeps the closed caption.
