Hi, i'd like to know if TMPG Xpress is working fine on Windows 7.
I'm from Argentina and my native language is spanish, so thats the reason for my poor english i hope you could understand me.
Any users out there who have tried this on Windows 7 64-bit? Does it work? I know the official word is unsure, so just wondering if anyone took a shot anyways?!
II'm using Win 7 64bit and I installed TmpgEnc Xpress, but it's not working with matroska files. Even doesn't in Win 7 32bit. So, it's not really compatible with 7.

Do you have Norton Internet Security or some other type of Anit-virus software? Try turning it off and disconnecting from the internet before you install.

Can you give us some details on what you are converting? Input file type and size, output format and settings, your system specs, etc.
That goes for everyone with a problem; include as much info as possible!
Hi, i'd like to know if TMPG Enc is working fine on Windows 7.
I'm from Argentina and my native language is spanish, so thats the reason for my poor english i hope you could understand me.
I have tried using TMPGEnc Authoring 4 with Windows 7 64bit and it doesn't work for me. When I load a file to create a dvd the Clip-Edic wont play the video or audio. I can see the video when I start the output process and the video outputs fine, but still no audio. I've tried this with many different files and still the same result.
Thanks all of you.
I already have my TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 (4.0.4.24) working fine on Windows 7 x86.
LordZelo, you should try get this version and it may work. When i tried install the new version i couldn't but whit 4.0.4.24 i have no problem at all.
I'm argentine and my native language is spanish, thats the reason for my poor english but i think you can understand me.
What kind of video file is it? You will need to use a separate program to remove the subtitles because you won't be able to do it with Authoring Works 4.
Hi
I have TMPGenc on two pc one on windows and the other on windows Vista. I am having problems with Window Vista after installing and i click on add file it say that it can only load the Audio part. The files play on my VLC player and others players that i have with no problems. Maybe i have to format something on my TMPGenc for my Vista so i can add my files. Can tell someone tell me what to do.
Hi
I have TMPGenc Xpress 4.7 and when Add file a message come up sayinf that it can only play the part. I have Window Vista and the .AVI files play on my VLC player no problems. Can some tell me what is the problem. Thanks
Try to check what codec the video uses. You can check the codec information in VLC by going to the Tools menu and selecting Codec Information. You can also use programs like GSpot to find out the codec information. It's possible that the video is playable with one of VLC's codecs, but you don't have the actual codec installed, which is why it won't play in Windows Media Player and 4.0 XPress.
After you've found which codec the video uses, find it on the internet, download it and install it. Then see if your video plays in Windows Media Player and 4.0 XPress.
Will there be support for .wtv video files in future releases. The wtv file is the defalt format used in recorded videos in Windows 7 Media Center. I would like to be able to burn some recorded TV programs to DVD without having to go through the process of first converting them to dvr-ms and then to avi to get them to work in Authoring Works 4.
Thanks
In case tgere is anyone out there with the same issue, I have found a simple solution. There is a free app called WTV Converter that converts WTV files to a DVR-MS file that Aythoring Works 4 can import. It takes a long time to load but once it does it can be edited just fine.
It can be downloaded at: http://forums.vso-software.fr/convert-wtv-to-dvd-new-mce-windows-7-video-format-t9479.html
I am attemting to make an iPhone/iTouch comaptible video.
The video looks good but I get a "pulsing effect", about once per second.
It only happens when I use the 2-pass VBR setting...

This is probably what's known as 'key-pop'. In format settings, under AVC change the GOP length from the default 33 frames to something longer -- 150 frames. If the effect is still there, at least it will occur at 5 second intervals instead of every 33 frames.
i notice Videocharge studio has great watermark features for videos
I want to add text slanted on my videos on tmpgenc. but they only have vertical and horizontal styles no slanted. any1 know how i can make watermark text slanted
Not possible. There's no true watermark option in 4.0 XPress; you can only use the subtitle function which is quite limited as I'm sure you've found out. It would be nice if you could use an image as a watermark, but a watermark feature just doesn't exist right now. It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to implement since the trial version adds a watermark to all encoded video.
I've requested this before so hopefully they're listening.
well ive also asked them to do several things like enable logo/subtitle blurring, just like edit studio but with function like msu filter. and the moron came back with "oh there is" it turned out that it blurred the whole damned screen lol.
would also be nice if they added filters like with adobe primer pro where you can tilt and re do angels and then with sony vegas where it allows the rotation dn crop
I have isn't Basic x64 and TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4.02.14. It has worked flawless for me for the last few months, until now. All of a sudden after I set up my options in "Output" which included having the writer settings at maximum, when I click start, it runs for a few seconds then I get an error message that says "Access is denied (error code 0x80070005)"
Luckily I poked around and discovered that, by setting my writer settings from Maximum to 16, that it would work, but lately even doing that gets an error message, but I've found that by hitting start again everything works fine and my burn gets done.
I don't know why this is happening now after all of these months. I haven't changed anything in Windows that I think would affect DVD burning. I did Google this and may people say the error means that the files are in use by another program, but I don't see how that could be it.
Also I did try updating to version 4.4.24 but for some reason I could not get it to run. I also though that maybe I need a firmware upgrade on my two DVD burners but firmware is hard to find for the LG brand.
I suppose a registry entry or two may have gotten deleted and I could always do a reinstall.
this error is really strange becuase it to do with space on your hdd, and its tupid becuase this error only goes away when you have a good 100gb if using a 750gb drive.
well thats how ive dealt with it after getting rid of files.
So your saying you think I don't have enough free hard drive space and that the error will go away if I have 100 GB's free? I don't know if that's possible to do. Currently I have about 30 GB's free on a 75 GB partition.
The thing is, it ran fine for quite a while with that configuration. I'm more inclined to believe that it could be a missing registry entry or something, I will probably just end up reinstalling.
One other thing...I read where that error can also be related to more than one program using a file at the same time and I did just install a new program for downloading Rapidshare links called JDownloader.
I looked in default programs and saw that JDownloader is default for several types of files like .ccf,.dlc, .metalink and ,rsdf files, though I don't think any of those would conflict with TMPGEnc.
what im saying is that my experince with this issues has shown that its a bloody stupid odd one where the software decided it wants space it doesnt need to carry out the operation.
ive wanted my stuff to happen with say 40gb spare on the hdd, and then i have had to either shift or delete files to make a good 100gb spare space and then the problems gne...no idea why it just seems to work
Well I always usually have a very cleaned out system anyway, as I constantly am cleaning things out using Tracks Eraser or CCleaner. But you said something about "Shift" Does that mean hold down the Shift key or something.
I have some PAL DVDs that include menus (British TV shows). I can't seem to find a way to convert them to NTSC that keeps the top menu intact. I would think if there's any way to do it, TMPG would have one. But I can't find it.
I wont explain the whole process here but it's rather easy using IFOEDIT (free)(www.ifoedit.com) and the original DVD files. Backup the .IFO and .BUP files so you can revert if you have to. This wont mess with the VOBs.
Look on www.videohelp.com for doing this. Look for the quick method. It will covert PAL to NTSC and maintain all menu functionality and takes around 5 to 10 minutes after some practice. The only problem will be the menu buttons, when selected, the highlighting will be below the menu item on some DVDs but it works fine in any case.
