Question - TME3 - Square in upper right corner No.61149
Walter  2008-09-24 06:37:01 ( ID:5lbz.hjxiph )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When I convert a video, it ends up 3/3 grid of squares in the upper right hand corner of the video. Anyone know why, or how to fix?

myself  2008-10-17 08:45:33 ( ID:uexq2jhhhql )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I dont know what do you exactly mean, so could you provide a screen shoot?, also what kind of mpeg file is your source file?, is it captured?, there are times when some mpeg files (specially the captured) are weird, have corrupted data, broken, have no time head code, etc.
You file plays ok at Cut-edit preview?, if not is problem of your source file.
Try with the MPEG Tool to Multiplex the file before input.
Start MPEG tool > Multiplexer.
- Choose your mpeg file and output it. (You must change the name or
path of the Output file).
- Import the output file from Multiplexer in a new Editor 3
project and check about it.

good luck

Question - TDA3 - Should I consider Source as XDVD Format Mpeg file No.60774
Rick0725  2008-09-24 04:48:13 ( ID:scumyp44yg. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The source is a High Definition 720 P 1280 X 720 15525 kbs 5.1 DD 5.1 EX TS file.

I am converting to DVD +R dual layer and a 4.7 gb version. Should I check the box to consider the source as an XDVD format mpeg file or leave it unchecked. I am authoring to a dual layer disc at 9400 kbs and passing the 5.1 ex soundtrack.

tkrave  2008-09-24 18:13:16 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I think you should leave it unchecked.

Request - TDA3 - Lack of visibility of sources No.60772
Bob  2008-09-23 20:57:31 ( ID:ucbus1wjjgl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

One thing I have noticed after working with TDA3 for a while now is that you don't seem to have any way of knowing the path/filename of your source video clips once you have set up and saved a project. Nor do you have the ability to see the path/filename of menu page objects such as the menu background picture and menu background audio. Being able to see where these sources are located on your computer can be very helpful and should be incorporated into a near future release. If the program can read and display the properties of an object, I would not think it would be that hard to show the source's path and filename.

Bob  2008-09-24 19:47:01 ( ID:9b2wp5wodyh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I should clarify...

When I cannot see the source path/filename of the source video clip is when I am using a DVD-Video folder as a track source. If I use a single file (eg. MPEG, the source path information for it shows under "Clip properties". I realize that a DVD-video folder may consist of many VOB files that TDA3 assembles into one track, but it would still be nice to be able to see the path of the root folder of those VOB files.

My comments about not being able to see the source of menu objects remains.

Question - TE40 - Youtube encoding settings No.58412
d nelson  2008-09-23 15:14:05 ( ID:gx6vp39mb8r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello,

Does anyone have success encoding high quality video clips uploaded to Youtube? I've tried mp4 and wmv output with inconsistant upload quality. Thanks for sharing your successful settings.

myself  2008-10-09 04:14:12 ( ID:uexq2jhhhql )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Xpress4 can convert to HD MPEG-4 AVC/H.264.
At Format stage choose MPEG-4 file output,
Stream type: MPEG-4 AVC format.
Profile: High
Size: 1920 x 1080.
High bitrate means high quality but big size so try to find a balance.

good luck

Question - TDA3 - how is a fade out created at completion on tmpgenc 3 No.60766
Rick0725  2008-09-22 16:59:26 ( ID:.qui0lgypoj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

how is a fade out created at completion of an authoring job using tmpgenc 3

Rick0725  2008-09-22 17:14:30 ( ID:.qui0lgypoj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I was not specific. I want to create an audio/video fade out to black at the end of the project using TMPGEnc DVD Author 3. How do you do that?

Bob  2008-09-22 18:31:38 ( ID:ucbus1wjjgl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

There is an option in DVD Author 3 for audio fade in/out, but not for video fade in/out. IMHO, I think this is something that it should include, but I'm guessing they want you to buy another one of their products which includes this ability, such as DVD Source Creator 4.

Rick0725  2008-09-23 14:03:51 ( ID:.qui0lgypoj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I tried the audio fade out at the end of my project and it converted the 5.1 ex soundtrack to 2.0 DD!!! A simple thing like a audio fadeout screwed up the entire project. I removed fadeout on the last track and the audio went back to 5.1 DD. a poor design in a good product that really should be looked addressed.

Bob  2008-09-23 15:44:42 ( ID:ucbus1wjjgl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

> a poor design in a good product that really should be looked addressed.

I agree with you...TDA 3 seems to be a good product overall but there are some obvious shortcomings in it.

tkrave  2008-09-23 18:28:04 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes, unfortunately, TDA3 only has 5.1 audio passthrough, so if you edit the audio in any way, it will be encoded to 2.0 stereo.

Question - TE25 - Installation error No.43703
Laura Leff  Home )  2008-09-21 23:39:49 ( ID:huukipzii6l )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have downloaded the freeware version of TMPGEnc 2.5 and am trying to install it. When I open the folder that was downloaded, I select the application file, tell it to run, then I get the TMPGEnc splash screen. Looks promising.

But then when I click OK on the splash screen, it gives a little window that says "Invalid file. Please re-install."

I've tried this running the files off the Cnet page as well, and get the same thing. Any idea what is causing this? I have TMPGEnc 1.5 installed already.

Surmu  2008-12-04 11:56:40 ( ID:yvhilxupkd6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Have you extracted the .zip properly? Did you use subfolder info? Succesfully extracted TMPGEnc folder has three subfolders (ad, help, template).

canthackit  2009-04-19 16:59:22 ( ID:zrcvkqfxxqg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Did you get it sorted it's the point i'm at also just keep getting the error message, downloaded TMPGEnc 2.525.64.184 core version 2.04.169 from various sites with the same outcome on every attempt at install, this is on the Vista 32 bit OS.

Question - TME3 - bitrate too high No.61145
bobdodd  2008-09-21 19:02:42 ( ID:j3t3yemr0lw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have a large MPG that I want to edit and split. I got all the way to Output when I was told that the "bitrate is too high for the selected level"

It is an HD recording converted from TIVO to MPG.

myself  2008-10-17 07:46:04 ( ID:uexq2jhhhql )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try to decrease the bitrate, may be is too many bitrate for the output.

good luck

Ararat  2008-11-01 09:47:59 ( ID:.t2yyuxd81h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This issue is the main reason why I did not purchase this software. It edited all my SD recordings fine, but gave this error for ALL recordings off our HD channels (I live in Australia). I ended up going with VideoReDo instead. It's a real shame, because I much prefer TMPGEnc's interface, which is much slicker and more professional than that of VideoReDo. TMPGEnc also has a vastly superior batch encode tool.

I'll be keeping my eye on this, as I would definitely want this prog if it did HD properly. But at the moment, I can't justify $100 AUD for a program that doesn't work on any HD recordings.

I don't get why it complains either... Obviously the bitrate ISN'T too high for the level, as it is being broadcast over the air and must comply with DVB standards. Anyway why does the program care? It's doing a smartrender - just copy the data. If it wants to use a lower bitrate on those few frames that it reencodes, then it's welcome too, but to stop the output altogether?

David McQuat  2009-04-28 07:51:05 ( ID:aeqgtgptb/g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am also in Australia and record HD free to air TV. I have had TPMGE DVD authoring 2.0 for some time and while the program advises that the bitrate is too high it will proceed if instructed the result is first class DVD disks. Imagine my surprise when after purchasing Editor 3 that the program refuses to proceed to DVD authoring because of the bitrate.

Question - TDA3 - "Project instance not found" error message No.60763
Sandalphon  2008-09-21 18:48:08 ( ID:5i5lhkjzthk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi!
I am getting an error message when I try to start a new project in DVD Author 3. The message tells that "project instance not found", all of the buttons stay grey and I'm not able to load files or anything else.

What's happening? Why this happens? How do I fix this?
I know there are a lot of questions, but I love to "know". ^_^

Question - TME3 - m2ts files No.61143
millzy  2008-09-20 13:33:32 ( ID:f5gn5m3pc5m )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When i purchased this progrm i thought i could convert my blu ray standard mpeg file from TMPGEnc express 4 and convert it into a bdav through mpeg editor 3 .But it does not seem to be the case,It keeps on telling me i can`t change to the bdav format,And i know it is the correct format.I also can not seem to open any m2ts files either,it keeps saying unable to open video part of the file and i have tried multiple files.Any help please.............

myself  2008-10-09 06:53:48 ( ID:uexq2jhhhql )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Why do you need the Editor 3 to convert your file?, xpress4 can do it, Editor 3 would be needed just for burn it to the BD.
There are 2 types of .m2ts, Blu-ray MPEG(.m2ts) and AVCHD (.m2ts), the mpeg is possible to import in Editor 3 but the AVCHD .m2ts not, check well which one you have and import the correct one.
Xpress4 can import AVCHD .m2ts files, i recommendo you to import them there and encode thsm to mpeg format for be able to then import them into Editor 3.

good luck

Question - TE40 - PowerPoint Issue with TMPG videos No.58411
Pat  2008-09-19 14:36:51 ( ID:sjqgpc3dcgj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

The videos that I clip and convert in TMPG do not play in PowerPoint 2007 (I run PP 2007 on an XP system on a Dell Precision M90).

I can use older videos in PP 2007 that I know I did not use TMPG to create. This baffles me, so I assume it has to do with some codec or some output setting that I have selected in the TMPG conversion process that is causing this conflict.

I have tried .WMV and .MPegs and still can't get them to work. THey turn to white in PowerPoint, yet play fine in Windwows Media Player.

I have tried ajdusting my hardware acceleration as well.

I use TMPGenc 4.0 XPress. The videos are usually captured with Camtasia Studio 5. I have installed the Camstasia codec so I don't think that is the issue either.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Pat

Bug report - TDA3 - "Stream reading error" on TMPGEnc Author 3 No.60760
Visor  2008-09-18 22:00:27 ( ID:ftc4cuqdgdk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello,

I'm converting a bunch of .wmv files to DVD format using TMPGAuthor 3. What happens is I get the message: "Stream reading error (error code: 0x80068001)". The error message appears at different times whenever I try to run the output, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with reading any specific .wmv file. I'm converting everything over to 352x240 with VBR avg bitrate of 1500 kb/s and 8000 kb/s max. I am encoding 6 hours worth of video over 2 titles. There are 99 chapters in the first title and 85 chapters in the second title. What I've found on the net for this error (which wasn't much) is that it appears TMPGAuthor version 3 seems to have an issue with encoding multiple-title DVDs. If this is truly the case, then I find this to be unfortunate, as I've made lots of these kind of DVDs using the older version 1.5 with no issues. Unfortunately, if I want to go back to 1.5 I'll have to convert all the .wmv files to .mpg first (since 1.5 doesn't accept .wmv files), as well as reauthor the entire DVD.

I've also tried running this conversion on my laptop, but I get the same error message; once again in a random spot. This eliminates any potential hardware issues on my desktop PC. Disk space is also not a problem, but if that were the case then I'd be getting a "Stream writing error" message. ;)

Has anybody else had this error? I'm using the latest version of TMPGAuthor 3 but I don't see anything in the release notes indicating that this bug was found and/or fixed.

Thanks,
Visor

Bob  2008-09-18 22:12:49 ( ID:ucbus1wjjgl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are you doing 2 pass VBR encoding? I have found that every time I do 2 pass VBR encoding of a .ASF file, I get a similar error to this (don't have the exact error now) but if I switch to 1 pass VBR, the same .ASF file encodes fine.

Visor  2008-09-20 01:00:54 ( ID:3cjekfovnym )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ah-ha! I set it to 1-pass CBR and it worked! (I can't do 1-pass VBR because the automatic settings make you encode at 704x480, and I need 352x240.)

Thanks a bunch!
Visor

Bug report - TE40 - Converting MOV to WMV from camera has jitters No.58409
onlydarksets  Home )  2008-09-17 02:51:10 ( ID:rdfcn3ac6af )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I used to be able to use TMPGEnc Xpress 4.0 to convert videos from my camera to WMV. Now they are all jittery. This is since the latest update to TMPGEnc. I can provide a short sample if you want.

VeEuzUKY  2008-10-06 08:07:32 ( ID:gmuzsbs2a3n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm having the same problem. I own a Panasonic Lumix FX-520 digital camera that shoots progressive QT Motion JPEG 30fps video and never had a problem. Now I upgraded to a Panasonic Lumix LX-3 digital camera that shoots progressive QT Motion JPEG 24fps video, and all my videos are jerky when converted in TMPG 4.0 Xpress, no matter the frame rate I try to choose and settings! :(
