Hey im new to all this stuff so go easy on me but im haveing problems encoding a movie called "the barbershop" that i downloaded of kazaa. The file of the movie is called "BarberShop_(2002).DVD-Screener.XviD.DVL.ShareReactor" . The error comes when i go to select the sorce file and press browse. I locate the file open it and an error message comes up" BarberShop_(2002).DVD-Screener.XviD.DVL.ShareReactor cannot open or unsupported. I read the troble shoot section and did all the things it siad to do but it has not worked. Also i cannot play the file in the AVI veiwer that comes with kazaa lite. I also know that the movie is not a fake.
You need to get the correct codec to read the file. The problem is that the people who encode (copy) the file from a dvd or other source encode it into different codecs, for example dvx5 ,xvid, dvx3 and so on. Also the sound portion of the file could also be different and again you will need the correct decomressor, for example ac3 for surround sound. lucky for us all of these are available for free download, the best place to get all the help and files is www.vcdhelp.com Good luck.
How Do you Know it is Not a Fake If you Haven"t been able to Watch it..This File seems to be Coded with XviD, so you will need the XviD Codec to decode the file....
Hi!
I'm using the 2.59 , and have tried 2.510, both free versions, and I have the same problem with both. I'm getting a Microsoft Visual C++ Error when i start the program. This happens at random times, not every time, but just now and then...

I recently trying to merge multiple MPEG 2 files containing both audio and video into a single MPEG 2 file to be loaded on a DVD. I used the Merge option in TMPGEnc and set the type to "MPEG-2 Program (VBR)" -- the problem I am having is the resulting files audio on the last few movies is not even close to being in sync with its video. I do know that each source file had about a half second of video only at the end --- how can I get it to keep the audio and video in sync (all original files were rendered by an editing software package as a single MPG file).....
The merge feature is not foolproof since this is not an Mpeg editing program.
Here is something I have not tried but might work. Edit the end of each clip in the merge list: click the |<< button to go back a little and then set the out point "}". This may trim any excess audio and close the last GOP. Some frames would be lost but maybe the audio will sync up better.
The "Merge & Cut" does not Support the accurate Editing or Mergeing of VBR Streams, wcpaul sugestoin Might help But if not Use a Real Mpeg editor like Mpeg2VCR or M2-Edit ect...
I've ripped my sound from a n avi file with VBR into wav. It sounsd fine if I listen to it directly, but when I try to use it in TMPGEnc, I get the message "file xxx.wav can not open, or unsupported". Does anyone know whats going on here? Any help appreciated!
i didnt have it a couple days ago
tried replacing ntdll.dll with a version from the win2k cd, still get the same problem. tmpg is the only program giving me this error.
I too just got this error - I encoded a divx to mpg and it worked perfect, then right after, i tried to encode an xvid to mpg and i get the ntdll error. Anyone know the solution?
after pretty exhaustive analysis, i compare tmpeg 2.5 eval to Ligos Go Motion embedded in discreet edit 6.0
i find the tmpg results, using 2 pass VBR, to present type soft, compared to Go Motion.
in go motion the type is noticebly sharper.
at first i though it was because i was using a truevision AVI file as source,, and this might have been causeing loss. However after using a TGA file sequence (pretty much the highest rez i can put out) TMPG still looks soft
anyone have any suggestions? why is this? am i using wrong settings?
any feedback from users or the makers of tmpg would be greatly appreciated! (i would love to get this program smokin!)
This is probably a preference by the author to maintain a "film look" even on noisy material.
Settings in the Quantize Matrix sheet would affect things like text. Notice that the default matrix is not the MPEG standard. And "No motion search for still picture part by half pixel" is checked by default.
When using 2-pass VBR, set the maximum bit rate to a high value.
After ripping DVD track to VOB, and using TMPGenc to convert to MPEG, some segments are in English and some are in French.........How do I control the Language during conversion using TMPGenc.
Help!!
Hiya guys..hows the weather? its snowing here in mpls mn
after searching pretty deeply here, i still cannot come up with an answer...

1. can i import a sequence of TGA Still Files and make a mpeg2? it seems with all the settings it still is not working?
2. is there any specific nameing convention? or can it be anyhting as long as there is an 001, 002, 003 etc...for example
Bumpers001.TGA, Bumpers002.tga and so on
thanx in advance

A little OT for here but imaging software is a good place to look. I think Ulead's inexpensive Photoimpact product can combine images into an AVI file which could then be encoded with TMPGEnc.
What exactly is the Problem, You say it isn"t Working But what isn"t working?? You have to Name the Files sequentially like you said "Bumpers001.tga, Bumpers002.tga, Bumpers003.tga Ect,and they have to have the Same Resolution, and if they will not Load into tmpgenc you can try raiseing the Priority of the "Bmp,jpg, tga ect File reader" in the Vfapi Plugins...and Put a Check next to the Option in the "Enviromental Settings" that says "Open Sequences as Movie"....
sorry when i say isnt working, i mean i follow the directions i see you posted to other users trying to import a sequence ie check the box in environment, bring in the first file, but only one frame shows up!
I am trying to run this program on a brand new win xp computer. With 1gb of ramm and a athlon xp 2300 (i think) cpu. i am havin just one problem, since that computer i only have "user level privlages" (its a shared computer) i do not have access to write to the registry and everytimei run theprogram it says i need to be a administrator to have registry access.. i read earlier that i do not need registry access with the version changelog. so what is the work around to advoid this problem, i have a older version i bought back a few months ago and the brand new trial version. both are giving me the same problem. any suggestions or work arounds to get it to work without regisrty access?
There is No way to use Tmpgenc without it accessing the Registry, it does not Rely on the Registry to run But it does Need to Put a Couple entries into the Registry like so it Knows when the Trial runs out ...so there is No Way around it unless you Know how to Reprogram it not to access the registry but that would be illegal.....
I'm using this program (CGD2SVCD) to convert some CD+G CD's into SVCD, actually this is only a frontend for 2 programs (CDG2AVI and TMPGEnc).
With the CDG2AVI, I've got no problem, but when it comes to TMPGEnc...
So, what it does is:
The CDG2SVCD, uses some tpr files to convert the AVI file plus the MP3 into a MPEG.
The only way that i know to use convert AVI+MP3 is to enable MUX. The problem is that CDG2SVCD, in some kind of batch, uses the audio file but doesn't include the "mux://", so it cannot convert the mp3 sayin "Unsupported".
Question:
1. Is there any other way to convert AVI+MP3 to SVCD, without enabling Mux?
2. Or can I edit the tpr (text mode) so that in the audio source it could include the "mux://" plus the text that comes from CDG2SVCD?
