Question - Flags No.68739

Hello
and theanks for all your great software!

I would like to ask
is possible to change some h264 flags?
Like interlace <> progressive, aspect ratio for example ?

Thanks

tkrave  2014-10-23 10:25:49 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can change the aspect ratio in the video settings and also the rotation flag, but I think that's it.

Request - File Date & Time Display No.68708

Hi, it would be really useful if the date and time stamp from the video file could be displayed for each clip in the source window so that if you bring in clips from different sources its easier to put them in chronological order.
Simple?

Thanks.

Question - EDL Files No.68681
tloebbaka  2014-09-11 06:45:21 ( ID:exgkp92tjpa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there a way to import an edl file? EDL files are basically a list of references to larger files essentially in and out points for other files.

Request - Audio Fades within a clip No.68618
Procyon  2014-08-08 00:21:43 ( ID:c/vuerl5g4n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Would it be possible to perform audio fade-ins and fade-outs just before and after the edit points within a clip without re-encoding all the audio of the clip. Often, the audio at such places can be loud and sudden due to broadcasters' desire to make more room for commercials, even to the point of eliminating the original fade-ins and fade-outs.

Currently, I manually do both of the above by placing three copies of each clip in a row, trimming the first down to ~1500 ms and introducing an audio fade-in, the 2nd by 1500 ms at both beginning and end, and the third to ~1500 ms and introducing a audio fade-out.

Improving it further, could you add the ability to introduce a silent blank filler gap at the edit points of user-selectable length? The result, audio fades and blank filler gap in the middle makes for a more professional looking result but does take a lot more time when done manually.

tkrave  2014-08-16 10:30:51 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You're doing it the hard way.

Import your clip, then add the audio fade-in and fade-out filter.
Then, use the split clip function to split the clip into your three clips.

Since the audio filter was applied before you split the clip, it carries over to all clips after the split.

Question - VBR versus CBR for output format selection No.68574
MarkZ  2014-07-24 02:21:58 ( ID:0nomsimsmer )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When muxing an AVC video stream with an AAC audio stream into an MPEG TS, the video rate selection only offers VBR, not CBR. Any reason why? Thanks.

Request - 10-bit encoded files support No.68456
George  2014-05-05 22:40:13 ( ID:gizj1inbaql )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I think currently no TMPGEnc software supports 10bit-depth encoded files. Since they are becoming increasing popular (more quality on the same bitrate) it's a pity Mastering Works 5, Smart Renderer 4 etc. cannot open them. Please add support.

10bit-depth output information links here:

The Profile Format of these files is: High 10@(AVC Level). Here you can download an example file (High 10@L3.0): https://www.mediafire.com/?73rgr38ckps156c

had to delete the previous message as after all these years the forum still hasnt had an edit button added.

Yeah, i just "complained" that they dont have something like or just the avi 10bit that sony vegas and adobe have for rendering. and i did the complaint because its NEEDED when you use noise filters to avoid the chroma banding.

also they really do need to add support for 10bit videos for import aswell as its a royal pain in the rear having to render 10 bit into 8 bit just for the software to work with it

Will it be possible to use a picture (e.g. a PNG with transparency) as title in a future version of SR4?

George  2014-06-26 21:34:14 ( ID:lsk7calqe8h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Image files can now be used with v.4.2.0.64. Nice move, Pegasys!

Free talk - SR4 picky with MP4/AVC files from Samsung phone No.68433
benoitm  2014-04-14 18:12:46 ( ID:whrqtudrlcm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I was surprised to see TMSR4 consider about 30% of the (unedited) MP4 files (1080/30p AVC) from my Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini phone as "Rescue" files !
Wondering why I don't get 100% of "Smart" in this simple (?) test case ?

Request - Why no subtitle support? No.68394
George  2014-03-25 23:07:01 ( ID:o5vrz/ceazn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This is the only major problem with SR4, the lack of subtitle support for DVD and Blu-Ray. Please consider adding it, currently the software feels crippled when dealing with discs.

Steve B  2014-08-19 23:20:33 ( ID:yp5gdwbu2lo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I heartily agree with you. It's a glaring omission. (Have you found an alternative solution, by the way?)

kbaerwald  2015-01-02 19:28:43 ( ID:ovjnsgimx7r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi

obviously there is still no subtitling possible - shame on TMPGEnc. I currently run VSRip for extraction of subs and use mkvmerge to add subs manually to the "done" mkv! What a waste of time!

Question - 200 clips limit No.68383
Bixbe  2014-03-21 06:14:43 ( ID:brajuceh7t. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I burned some BD-R discs and could only fill 4 Gb (23 minutes) of the 25Gb because of the 200 clips limit in one Project. Can I add several Projects into one BDAV disc or are there other ways to add enough clips to fill the 25Gb BD-R?

tkrave  2014-03-26 06:53:27 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You'd have to combine the clips to output as one clip first, output, then import that clip into a new project and repeat until everything can fit.

Question - How to disable certain clips for output No.68319
KevinM  2014-02-23 04:28:25 ( ID:dlmsfaeak6h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

How do you disable certain clips from the final output?

Sometimes I revisit a project and only want to smart render one or two clips but not remove those that I dont, but I have to just so they don't get ouputtead again which is very annoying.

Many Thanks

tkrave  2014-02-25 10:23:17 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just delete them and don't save the project file, then you can always reopen the project file and have all your clips. Or delete the clips and save it as a different project file.
