Question - Can TMPGEnc 3 de-interlace ? No.68009
bernaci  2013-09-20 17:04:04 ( ID:qnpg18ahhtj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am using TMPGenc Editor 3 for many years to cut/edit my TV Recordings. Most of the older recordings (from german Sat TV) have 720i MPEG2 format. Question : Can TMPGEnc de-interlace and generate a 720p output file ?

I am asking because i have found in my video collection one video clip with 720p which I had cut with TMPGenc out of a TV Recording which has actually 720i. But I do not remember what I had (accidentally) changed in the output format settings to get a progressive video at the .

Many tks if somebody has the answer,
Bernd

Question - importing wtv files No.66342
db1065  2012-06-24 04:48:27 ( ID:pfjksacqr2c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just loaded the trial version, and am very satisfied with its performance exept for one minor item. According to the specs, the software should be able to import wtv files, but it won't. It is not a major issue, as I can load the converted dvr-ms file. Before purchasing the retail version I would like to know if this is just a feature not available in the trial version? Also, before installing the retail version, should the trial version be uninstalled?

Hi,

This depends on your .wtv video stream, if it has an MP4 AVC video stream is not possible to import since MPEG Editor 3 can only import based MPEG-2 video stream files, so you may need to import .wtv files only containing such video stream.

Also check about other points mentioned here:
http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tme3_operation.html#6
WTV file importation is possible on the computer used to record the file, or on computer able to create this type of file. Recordings copy-protected by a DRM scheme cannot be imported. Only WTV files containing MPEG-2 video and MP2 audio can be imported.

Question - MPEG Editor 3 OR Video mastering Works 5 ? No.65770
Beammeup  2012-02-07 23:53:35 ( ID:qwqvub9mybk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi

I just want a better MPG2 file edited and encoder.
I currently use TMPGenc DVD author 1.5 ( ancient i know )

A friend of mine is now using MPEG editor 3 and I would be happy with that, but can somebody tell me if Video Mastering Works 5 does exactly the same + a little more, or is it a different piece of software altogether

thanks
Scott

tkrave  2012-02-08 03:12:56 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

They are different.

The main difference is that MPEG Editor 3 has Smart Rendering, which will allow you to edit your MPEG-1/2 video without having to re-encode it on output. If you only need to cut out scenes, MPEG Editor 3 should be good for you.

With Video Mastering Works 5, you will always have to re-encode the entire video when you output, even if you are outputting to the same format and specs.
However, TVMW5 allows you to do more during the editing, such as apply filters, overlay video, add transitions, captions, subtitles, animation, etc. You will be able to do way more with TVMW5, but you will always have to do a full encode at output.

Download the trials first and see which suits your needs better.

Thanks for that info. I'll be getting MPEG Editor 3 for its smart rendering feature. I have the latest Vegas for the full blown stuff.
Cheers
Scott

Question - Upside Down video No.65629
tere12  2012-01-13 12:03:08 ( ID:byuu4zirkta )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I combined an .mp2 + .wav files but the video came out upside down.
Anyone know why this happened and how do I fix it?

thanks

tkrave  2012-01-14 04:56:39 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What are you using to play the video? It is most likely related to the codec you are using.

Question - Undelete a cut No.65550
brookejp  2011-12-25 20:59:36 ( ID:peg8uex/vv2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Under the "Cut Edit" menu, I do some editing and cut out the bits that i don't want, The bits that i cut out disappear out of the thumbnail preview at the bottom. My question is our do i get them back without loosing the cuts i already have, I know i could click undo, but that also undoes anything after also, I also if i come out of the edit section. I then don'y get the option to undo, The only way i can see to do it is to select undo all cuts. but that looses evercut.

Please help

Thanks

tkrave  2012-01-04 04:48:25 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

As you've found, you can only go backwards, edit by edit, with the Undo button/command or undo all edits.

However, if you want to get back a specific edit that was a couple of edits ago, I would add the video file again to create another clip and then isolate that one section you want to get back.

You may need to split the original clip into sections in order to get the new clip back into its proper place in the video.

Question - M2TS No.65371
TMPG_Dragon  2011-11-02 05:07:29 ( ID:/d7b2orfqxk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Why TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 not supported file .M2TS?

All other software supporting .M2TS

Do you have make a update later? Thanks for your answer? I purchase this software for working more with .M2TS files.

tkrave  2011-11-02 10:57:30 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm guessing your video is actually MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 which is why TME3 won't accept it.
.m2ts is just a container format, so the actual video stream doesn't necessarily have to be MPEG-2.

Question - FLV No.65087
raguirre73  2011-08-16 09:40:00 ( ID:7zp2dcrjwvf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Can I edit an FLV video in this Program?

tkrave  2011-08-17 02:36:36 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

No, it is for MPEG video only. Maybe if it's an MPEG in an FLV container, but other than that, no.

Request - MPEG Flags No.64980
mboufleur  2011-07-20 01:39:11 ( ID:alos0d7uu6o )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Would it be possible for TMPGenc MPEG Editor to change MPEG Flags?

I've got a bunch of MPEG Files that came with the incorrect field order, and the only software I could find to do such a thing would be the Restream software, that is not updated since 2004.

tkrave  2011-06-01 03:20:46 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Should be okay. It is probably just because it connects to the validation server when the program starts up.

Question - Version: 3.4.0.151 update No.64654
Iain Fisher  2011-05-01 03:39:35 ( ID:alofpoqpj/j )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have today tried to update my TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 to Version: 3.4.0.151. This resulted in an error of

Error 1402. Could not open key:
Unknown\Components\DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8\0DC8CB51B56A0D742ADD098A4295F08A
VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE SUFFICENT ACCESS TO THAT KEY, OR CONTACT YOUR SUPPORT PERSONNEL.

I have tried turning off UAC and running the update. I have also tried system restore but the previous version 3.2.0.127 was broken. I then uninstalled this version and tried to install 3.2.0.127 but got the same error 1402. I am running Vista 64 bit with all updates.
