MFiend  2017-01-10 12:26:28 ( ID:mqvij6fo/aj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TMPGEnc 4 Xpress works well under Windows XP SP3 32-bit but will it work under Windows 10 64-bit?

TIA

tkrave  2017-01-11 04:25:25 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've used it on Win10 64-bit, not extensively, but I've converted a video with no issues.

Question - Want to convert mp4 video file to mpg file for burning No.70585

Hello,

TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress & TMPGEnc DVD Author 3

For years I have been using TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress to convert video files to mpg format suitable for burning DVDs in TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring.

Now, I find that this product cannot convert mp4 video files to mpg format and so I cannot make DVDs from mp4 video files.

Can you please advise me how I can use my existing TMPGEnc software products with mp4 video files?

Also, I have been reading on the Pegasys website about the TMPGEnc PGMX Creator software.

Can you please advise if this 'PGMX' software can create and burn DVDs from mp4 video files?

Thank you for your assistance

johndoc

Were you able to convert mp4 files before? I don't have an issue converting mp4 to mpg for DVD in 4.0 XPress. What version are you using?

PGMX Creator does not create DVDs; it creates a proprietary format called PGMX which basically works like DVD/Blu-ray but is primarily for playback on a computer or Android/iOS device via the PGMX Player software.

Question - dimensions change No.70539
Valerio  2016-12-02 10:09:14 ( ID:s5rqr717es2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello. I've converted a film like I always do but this time the screen has come to be very much smaller. I'm asking myself why given that the dimensions are like the original ones, 720 x 576.

tkrave  2016-12-02 13:55:09 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What are the dimensions of the output video? Is there a difference in pixel aspect ratio?

Question - A 720x480 mpg fills my screen but when re-rendered to mp4 doesn't... why? No.70372
kxdude4  2016-07-02 07:20:47 ( ID:/5kik.mwkcf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hey All!
I have a bunch of media in mpg, 720x480 format and when I watch them, my entire screen is filled with the movie. BUT, if I re-render them to 720.480 MP4 format there is now a 2 inch border all around the movie. Why does it do this? They're the same size!!! And will do this in Windows Media Player as well as NERO and Windows Classic player... And I'm basically using all the default settings.
Thanks for any help!

I'm trying to add audio to a video and the program says it won't open file because there is no video. How do I work around this issue? Thanks

tkrave  2015-05-30 08:10:27 ( ID:t7rw5rdz3jm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It's been a while since I used the program, but I think you can add the audio file from the clip properties tab in the clip edit window. Basically, you will be replacing the audio in the video with the audio from your audio file.

Will support be coming for HEV1 / H.265 in TMPGEnc 4.0 Xpress or will it require say an upgrade to the next version

tkrave  2014-12-05 11:18:22 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You will probably need to upgrade since they are no longer updating 4.0 XPress. I would wait until they actually announce support though.

applause  Home )  2013-10-21 19:39:49 ( ID:q5rvcr4dqa2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have identified a problem where .wmv files encoded with TMPGENC 4 randomly play upsidedown in Adobe Director using their mediaplayer xtra.

Problem not experienced with other encoders.

Anyone confirm this??

You need to make sure you have the right codecs installed on your PC. Can you play the files in Windows Media Player? You will need DirectShow codecs such as FFDShow. You can also use a program like MediaInfo to figure out the exact codec you need.

Question - How do I change the default output parameters permanently? No.67880
mxxx_rooster  2013-08-04 05:57:58 ( ID:ijvwdyhmxs6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello!
Each output format defaults to specific parameters but I rarely use these. I'd like to change these so when I decide on a specific output, it uses parameters I most often use. Ex - Divx defaults to a Home Theatre Profile but I'd like it to be Divx HD 720. MPEG-4 defaults to Level 3 and 352 x 288. I'd like Level 5, 720x480.
Thanks for any help!!!

tkrave  2013-08-06 05:31:49 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I don't think you can change the default parameters, but you can just save it as an output template and select that in the future.

>I don't think you can change the default parameters, but you can just save it as an output template and select that in the future.

Ahhh! Thanks for the great idea! I hadn't considered that!!! I was thinking that someone would know how to maybe edit an .ini file or something of the like but your idea is sure a bunch better than what I've been doing! Thanks!

Question - it cuts movies in two No.67372
Valerio  2013-02-25 08:52:57 ( ID:wepbpjmzizc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi guys. Can anybody tell me why the TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress converter cuts the movies in two if they are long? Can this be avoided?

tkrave  2013-02-26 04:57:20 ( ID:/nw.rgkce7n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What is your output format? AVI? AVI and older versions of DivX have a file size limit of 4 GB, so if it exceeds that, then it might be splitting it at the 4 GB mark.

mxxx_rooster  2013-08-04 07:49:29 ( ID:ijvwdyhmxs6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I haven't had the problem although a lot of these software proggys have a setting making each portion the size of a specific madia. In other words, if the setting is DVD (MPEG2) there may be a 4.7 gig limit. An mpeg1 (VCD) may have a typical CD limit of 640 meg... etc...
