Question - CUDA Support on GTS 8800 with TMPGENC XPress No.59133
B3T@_T3sT3R  2009-11-06 17:40:13 ( ID:cg3richelt6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello,

when will there be CUDA support for the GTS8800. As descibted on the Nvidia Drivers Page ther's support but running TMPGENC XPress with CUDA is telling me it does not CUDA on GTS8800 - and the App is telling it does not currently support the GTS8800 - so when?

Can anyone tell me what to do, please.

Thanks in advise

Zach Bartels  2009-11-23 20:51:50 ( ID:bws3ijldqrj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have no problems using my 8800GTS 512MB with CUDA enabled.

I saw your thread at Nvidia forums too, I am wondering if its something about the first generation G80 cards that they lack something the G92's have and TMPGenc either doesn't support or is unaware of it.

Gary  2009-12-04 23:00:57 ( ID:hyhbubvpi.h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I also have a 8800GTS, when I go into the Options, Preferences under CUDA 2.0 that page is completely grayed out so the application doesn't even see the video card. I'm now running Windows 7. Thoughts?

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-12-05 00:01:09 ( ID:eqr.0saonmf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

ok so that means that the card you have doesnt have cuda on it.

tkrave  2009-12-07 18:00:36 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

GTX/GTS 8800 cards with a G80 core are not compatible with TMPGEnc software even though those cards are CUDA enabled.

Question - TMPGEnc Xpress 64bit Edition No.59129
Tommy Lee Jones  2009-11-05 21:56:29 ( ID:6xsvtaptzor )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi there!

I am interesting for 64bit edition of TMPGEnc Xpress version. Are you planning create it for users?

B3T@_T3sT3R  2009-11-06 17:46:52 ( ID:cg3richelt6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

why a 64bit Version for this app. it uses still all cores and as many memory as available from windows. 32bit apps are well supported on seven.

Dieter Hummel  2009-11-09 02:06:21 ( ID:dndfcfio..2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It would be useful since Xpress4 on German Win7 64bit refuses to install at all and stalls the complete system. That's not what I'd expect from an application like that. ALL other 32bit apps installed perfectly und run as expected....

B3T@_T3sT3R  2009-11-12 19:46:18 ( ID:cg3richelt6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

so only on german it does not? - it is independed

HEROEdelREVES  2009-11-04 22:59:50 ( ID:8gf2buyliqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, i'd like to know if TMPG Xpress is working fine on Windows 7.
I'm from Argentina and my native language is spanish, so thats the reason for my poor english i hope you could understand me.

tkrave  2009-11-05 17:52:10 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It should work fine on Windows 7, though the website says that behavior is not guaranteed on 64-bit versions.

sarge_in  2009-11-06 17:16:15 ( ID:ucmo3982gff )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Any users out there who have tried this on Windows 7 64-bit? Does it work? I know the official word is unsure, so just wondering if anyone took a shot anyways?!

B3T@_T3sT3R  2009-11-06 17:42:06 ( ID:cg3richelt6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

it works fine on seven! even on 64bit.

II'm using Win 7 64bit and I installed TmpgEnc Xpress, but it's not working with matroska files. Even doesn't in Win 7 32bit. So, it's not really compatible with 7.

Do you have Norton Internet Security or some other type of Anit-virus software? Try turning it off and disconnecting from the internet before you install.

Can you give us some details on what you are converting? Input file type and size, output format and settings, your system specs, etc.

That goes for everyone with a problem; include as much info as possible!

Hi
I have TMPGenc Xpress 4.7 and when Add file a message come up sayinf that it can only play the part. I have Window Vista and the .AVI files play on my VLC player no problems. Can some tell me what is the problem. Thanks

tkrave  2009-11-02 17:52:35 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Does it play in Windows Media Player? That's a somewhat more accurate gauge to see if it'll work in 4.0 XPress or not.

Judy  2009-11-03 15:16:44 ( ID:1jzoinphdjo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

No it can not play on Window Media

tkrave  2009-11-03 18:19:06 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try to check what codec the video uses. You can check the codec information in VLC by going to the Tools menu and selecting Codec Information. You can also use programs like GSpot to find out the codec information. It's possible that the video is playable with one of VLC's codecs, but you don't have the actual codec installed, which is why it won't play in Windows Media Player and 4.0 XPress.

After you've found which codec the video uses, find it on the internet, download it and install it. Then see if your video plays in Windows Media Player and 4.0 XPress.

I am attemting to make an iPhone/iTouch comaptible video.

The video looks good but I get a "pulsing effect", about once per second.
It only happens when I use the 2-pass VBR setting...

could be the added frame into the video, so the repeat few frames per second could give the pulsing effect.

>could be the added frame into the video, so the repeat few frames per second could give the pulsing effect.

What added frame? Could you be more specific?

TIA

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-10-31 00:26:35 ( ID:/mc2urzlila )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

if you have an original video which is different to the frame rate you have encoded to it will either reduce the frames per second or add them.

diaphote  2009-11-06 19:42:18 ( ID:/9my1dyax76 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This is probably what's known as 'key-pop'. In format settings, under AVC change the GOP length from the default 33 frames to something longer -- 150 frames. If the effect is still there, at least it will occur at 5 second intervals instead of every 33 frames.

Question - How can i watermark videos With text thats slanted No.59100
thrillz  2009-10-27 18:02:45 ( ID:vx1zs2/ah9k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i notice Videocharge studio has great watermark features for videos

I want to add text slanted on my videos on tmpgenc. but they only have vertical and horizontal styles no slanted. any1 know how i can make watermark text slanted

tkrave  2009-10-27 22:27:46 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Not possible. There's no true watermark option in 4.0 XPress; you can only use the subtitle function which is quite limited as I'm sure you've found out. It would be nice if you could use an image as a watermark, but a watermark feature just doesn't exist right now. It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to implement since the trial version adds a watermark to all encoded video.
I've requested this before so hopefully they're listening.

well ive also asked them to do several things like enable logo/subtitle blurring, just like edit studio but with function like msu filter. and the moron came back with "oh there is" it turned out that it blurred the whole damned screen lol.

would also be nice if they added filters like with adobe primer pro where you can tilt and re do angels and then with sony vegas where it allows the rotation dn crop

Request - PAL DVD w/ menu to NTSC No.59098
radiorog  Home )  2009-10-27 00:24:00 ( ID:pszkxtffkjl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have some PAL DVDs that include menus (British TV shows). I can't seem to find a way to convert them to NTSC that keeps the top menu intact. I would think if there's any way to do it, TMPG would have one. But I can't find it.

Any help is much appreciated.

Radiorog

tkrave  2009-10-27 01:11:10 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

4.0 XPress won't import menus, only the video/audio content.

drsrin  2010-06-25 16:00:45 ( ID:pskkhkzygtn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I wont explain the whole process here but it's rather easy using IFOEDIT (free)(www.ifoedit.com) and the original DVD files. Backup the .IFO and .BUP files so you can revert if you have to. This wont mess with the VOBs.

Look on www.videohelp.com for doing this. Look for the quick method. It will covert PAL to NTSC and maintain all menu functionality and takes around 5 to 10 minutes after some practice. The only problem will be the menu buttons, when selected, the highlighting will be below the menu item on some DVDs but it works fine in any case.

Bug report - Encoding randomly stops at the end of a clip sometimes No.59096
Squashy  2009-10-22 13:44:03 ( ID:70w8za3dvlc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hey guys, just bought TMPGEnc.

I have an issue.

I'm encoding a lot of separate clips into a bunch of separate mpg files. At first, it's going great, but then all of a sudden it stops. It never stops at a percentage less than 100%, it just fills the blue bar all the way up, and then doesn't seem to want to load the next clip and start encoding.

There's no error message or anything, and my Elapsed time is constantly increasing.

I don't get the "finished" dialog box either. All of the menu bar buttons at the top are ghosted out except for "Options"

Thanks!

Ted  2009-11-12 05:56:31 ( ID:fw9sde9qbrg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

One of your clips my be corrupted. It may not be enough to affect playback, but it is affecting the encoding process. Try load them into the batch encode tool as individual clips.

Question - Divx Low Quality Encoding No.59092
elihay  2009-10-22 00:57:56 ( ID:rsia5h5cuwo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi
I am trying to encode video that I have shot with a camcorder and edit.
it's PAL interlace and basic quality in term of noise as it is a home camcorder.
I am very disappointed with the result.
The divx coding is configured to HDTV 3000kbps with multipass of 2.
I am getting quite a big file, about 600Mbytes for half and hour.
If I compare it to DIVX movies that I have, which were ripped from DVD, the output that I got from TMPGEND Express is very poor qulity while the bit rate of it is higher than the Movie. in the movie more than 1.5 hour are in 700Mbyte.
what do I miss?
how can I make my conversion more quality?
thanks
Elihay

tkrave  2009-10-22 02:05:42 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is it accurate to compare a home video with a commercial DVD?

How does the quality compare with the original footage? This is the question you should be asking. If the source is of a "basic quality" you can't expect the output to be any better.

elihay  2009-10-22 08:37:52 ( ID:rsia5h5cuwo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Sure
I am not expecting the quality to be like the DVD movie and better than the original camcorder video. I mean that I get encoding noise, like the mpeg squares which are seen clrearly at the video that I created, compared to the DVD DIVX with much lower bitrate and much less encoding noise seen.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-10-22 13:38:24 ( ID:/mc2urzlila )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

ok this means that you are either setting it so that its trying to encode a large film inot a small size which quality will always go slightly, or you have not got it set right so that instead of like xvid for example, if you only do a single pass and not a multiple pass, th quality will deminish.

maybe the codec itself is currupt. so try updating it or re installing it as this could also cuase the instructions of the encoder to go quite a bit and mis place intrsuctions .

Question - Tmpenc xpress doenst use the srt tags No.59089
niksoftarg  2009-10-12 17:07:51 ( ID:tnydkc.ahek )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi Iam trying to add hardcodec subtitles to a movie via the filter "subtitles", I can import the srt file, but when I encode the movie the subtitles has the <i> </i> showing and not doing the italic effect that the tag is suppossed to do.....

any ideas how to fix this?

tkrave  2009-10-12 19:47:28 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

To my knowledge, you can't; 4.0 XPress simply doesn't recognize srt/html tags.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-10-14 05:54:21 ( ID:kmeixlladmw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

xpress can import the subs, but will only work with its own "custom" layout ie it wont work of the users subs from file.
