Question - Flash f4v No.58913
HD4media  2009-06-26 15:04:10 ( ID:cpklsbdi7ko )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

I want to make flash h.264 video files with xpress 4.

The source is okay. Because there isn't really a flash output, i choose mov as the one. I kwown that it works with my Mac Compressor (FCP) and if I change this extension to flv, it works perfectly.

But with these xpress 4 ...this trick don't work! So? Is there a difference h264 codec voor windows and Mac? Because the flv don't accept the video.

TMPGenc, I would be nice if you soon arrange a Flash f4v format output settings!

Then you got the perfect allround encoder.

regards

Corré van Hensbergen

Question - It suddenly stop encoding No.58912
ulcaman  2009-06-26 06:00:16 ( ID:yppi6snwquc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TMPEGEnc 4.0 Express suddenly stopped during encoding MS DV AVI --> MPEG2 DVD

I produced about 13 files (13 Chapters for DVD) and encoding it 4.0.

Most of them encoded well but 2 files suddenly stopped about 48-49% point (in 2 pass encoding mode)
I tried again but the result was same.
YOu know 48~49% point in 2 pass encoding mode is the end of analysing process.

Is there anybody who know this problem?

Question - using tmpgenc4 spurs engine but still get 100% CPU usage ! No.58909
Martin wichtmann  2009-06-25 23:39:07 ( ID:dfditwmikpk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm using the spurs engine plug-in with tmpgenc4 to convert some large 1080p file to 720p H.264/AVC, but the speed is not was i think it should be. Its taking 2 hours and 20 minutes to convert a 1080p movie to 720p H.264/AVC, does that seem right ?? Also while its converting the cpu usage is 100% and my cpu is getting to the +52 degrees.... i thought this would take the load of the cpu and just use the cpu to do the audio part and encoding to 2 channel stereo aac wouldn't require 100% i wouldn't think. I'm using the firecoder blu card (for the spurs engine) and my system is win XP, amd X2 64000+, 2 gig ram. Is there a way i can check to see if all cores of the firecoder is being used and how do i check the temp of the firecoder card ?? it doesnt show up in speedfan.

Heres a screenshot of what i mean :

How long is your movie? 2 hours and 20 minutes actually sounds pretty good for converting a full-length HD movie.

Are you using the SpursEngine output profile in the Format Stage?

tkrave  2009-06-27 02:39:08 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Looking at the number of frames you have and your framerate, it looks like that's a 2 hour movie, which means you're not too far from a 1:1 encoding time. For HD video, that's really good.

As a comparison, I just converted a 12 second, 24fps 1080p QT video to DivX. It took 3 minutes, 31 seconds. Imagine if it were a 1 hour video; it would have taken me 17.5 hours at that rate!

Question - SpursEngine - not working better? No.58907
Ryan  2009-06-24 01:12:27 ( ID:jwb9ex6f4wm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have a Q9300, 6GB ram, $1000 desktop, I'm compressing 640x480 MPEG 2 (9MBPS) to mpeg 4 500kbps same resolution.
I just got the winfast pcx1100 and spursengine plugin, it can compress a 30" video in about 7 minutes but it only took 10-11 minutes before, so only a 50% speed improvement, not 200% like the demos???

Also, I can't seem to find any way to get the resolution right - it puts these 5px black bars on the top and bottom that I had been dealing with before by making it 640x470 in the output.

As a side note - I could not plug in the power connector because the cable didn't reach, would this slow it down???
THanks!

tkrave  2009-06-24 02:36:59 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

For your black bar problem, try this:

Use the picture resize filter and set it to "Centered (custom)", 640x480. Then do as you've been doing and set the output size as 640x480, 1:1 pixel. Check the preview to make sure there's no black bars.

I don't have the winfast card, but if there's a power connector that should be connected, then that could be slowing it down. It may just be to power the fan, and if the fan isn't on, then the spursengine processor might be getting too hot.

Request - dolby digital (ac-3) 5.1 & mkv support No.58905
eddman  2009-06-23 18:21:49 ( ID:wcrhpskaumc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I really like this program because of it's quality and simplicity, but it's a real pain not having ac-3 5.1 support. After so many requests by so many people, you should have already implemented this feature.

The other request I have is the MKV file output ability. I know,it's a rouge file format, but no harm would be done by adding it while there is such a huge public support behind it.

Thanks

Question - Poor mpeg 4 compressions No.58904
darren  2009-06-19 21:10:39 ( ID:qpy9ab1zk7o )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have source files that are h.264 at 10mbps.
I need to encode these adding fades at the head and tail.
I use TMPGEnc 4 XPress for this.
Whenever I do this I get a problem with the video.
There is always a spot where the video starts to skip and get jettery.
Also, I sometimes get a green line on the bottom of the frame.
Does anybody else have problems like this.
Thanks.

Question - Cannot convert to wmv No.58903
aesir  2009-06-17 11:24:49 ( ID:qdtppen3gym )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am using the latest version of TMPGENC installed on a Windows XP x64 quad core system. Any video format conversion works except when converting to Windows Media Video file output". When I select it I get an error "Read error occurred at address xxxxxxxx of module 'Moviewm9.vme" with 00000000. I do have all necessary codecs installed and Windows Media Player 11.

I tried the same thing on another XP x64 PC and it does exactly the same. Is this a bug, an incompatibility with x64 systems maybe? I am open to suggestions on what to try next...

Bug report - Long slideshow can't loop audio No.58900
natong  2009-06-10 15:09:42 ( ID:i3i1h1sfuw2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Long slideshow can't loop audio

I have 100 pictures for slideshow and 2 mins audio.
The slideshow can't play song as loop. Only play one round and stop, no song any more.

tkrave  2009-06-10 19:21:25 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Unfortunately, looping the audio isn't possible...it's not even an option. You can either adjust the slideshow to the length of the music or you don't and the music will end and the slideshow will keep going.

natong  2009-07-05 10:53:48 ( ID:i3i1h1sfuw2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

So sad.

These is very important.

Audio looping option in slidwshow is missing. Any plans to include in for the future releases?

Hopefully it's in the next version, but we'll have to wait and see.

Hello everybody, I am compressing a mkv to divx, what should I put in the bitrate option adjustmen, higt motion or low motion, "thank you very much

---------------------------------------------------

Hola a todos, estoy comprimiendo un mkv a divx, ¿que debo poner en la opcion bitrate adjustmen, higt motion o low motion?, muchas gracias

tkrave  2009-06-09 22:49:05 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I think it depends on the content of your video. If there's a lot of motion such as a fast-paced movie or sports event, then choose high motion. However, high motion will probably set the bitrate higher, resulting in a larger file size.

kenshyro  2009-06-10 06:20:54 ( ID:11y4ube/uuf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

ok, very thank

Question - Converting NTSC 4:3 to PAL 16:9 No.58895
Nimbus3  2009-06-04 12:54:29 ( ID:htqiz7jybm. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just the simple quastion: The eseast way to convert a movie from NTSC 4:3 format to PAL 16:9. I'm new to this an need some hints.

tkrave  2009-06-06 00:07:26 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When you output the file, set it to PAL and the aspect ratio to 16:9. It's that easy. You'll have black bars on the sides of your video though.

Now, things will get a little more complicated if your NTSC 4:3 movie has letterboxing encoded into the movie. If it does, then you'll have to crop those out with the crop filter.

Question - Cannot Allocate Memory for DLL No.58894
David40  2009-06-03 03:33:27 ( ID:rc2rimbg/yn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

While encoding using the Canopus Lossless avi codec, the conversion failed at 20% with the error message "Cannot Allocate Memory for DLL"
Anyone else encountered this error and knows what to do about it?
Thanks

Question - problem with output videos No.58892
fcz  2009-06-02 23:11:24 ( ID:gkze3gu7tcg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

hi,
after few days using TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress, and i'm getting really frustrated with this.
i'm using it to convert mpeg files which i record with my tv tuner to divx.
the problem is that i really can't find the right combination of parameters; the main problem is that the output
files mostly are "cut-off", the video looks like it's zoomed.

i noticed that under format tab, where i can change divx output settings, i can't modify height of video,
it's always 480 even though my videos are 720X576; maybe that's the problem?

tkrave  2009-06-06 00:14:28 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You may just need to change the "Output profile type" to "Home theater" or "HDTV." That should allow you to input 576 as the height.
