Hallo,
the problem is, that I have captured in the ati vcr-Codec.
The file player shows it, but I can't open it in TMPGEnc 3.0 or 2.5.

Have anyone an idea ?

That is why you don't use the ATI .vcr Codec. It is not supported by anyone else except ATI.

I have not seen or heard of anything that will convert it for you.

Mike

You can convert Ati vcr -files to mp2-files adding them (drag and drop) to Ati Library, right-clicking it, and choosing conversion.
Unfortunately, all vcr-files won't be added to Library, at least for me...

Mp2- (also known as m2v-) files can be edited or converted to desired format (for example) by FlasKMPEG.

You should record in mpeg4, mpeg1, or mpeg2 format, in that order of preference. Those are easily usable.

Bug report - TMPGENc 3.0 Xpress crash No.53256
JonnyB  2004-08-09 07:47:56 ( ID:aohirwmoxlf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Quite often when encoding Xvid to MPEG2 ... TMPGENc Xpress dies (application closes) with no errors ? This happens intermittently, sometimes the encode completes and sometimes the application dies (encoding the same file). I can't find anything relevant in the WinXP Event viewer.
Anyone know what could cause this ?

TIA

Question - XDVD - multiple movies on 1 DVD No.53254
Ben  2004-08-08 17:50:07 ( ID:fgdpiospeqg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am trying to figure out how to put 3 movies onto 1 DVD+R using the XDVD feature in TMPGEnc Express. Has anyone used this yet? If so, how is the image quality, and do you know if it would be compatable with my Sony DVP-NS575P Precision Drive 3 DVD player? It claims that you can put 10 hours of video on 1 DVD. I would like to put all 3 lord of the rings movies together. Thanks!!!

B_Racer  2004-08-18 09:35:23 ( ID:0jd4rmr3tyn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just one Suggestion: Forget it! XDVD is non standard and very big GOPs can cause a lot of Problems with some Players.

Use standard Half-D1 to put your Movies onto the DVD. Any Player is able to play this format.

I want to record my vh tape to my hard drive and make it into a dvd movie. Is this a rigth program and if so can add couple steps how to Newby sorry . thanks 4 your time !!!!!

Easg  2004-08-21 00:29:21 ( ID:qpauqv8q4pf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

To convert from VHS to DVD you have to have a video capture card installed in your system in order to capture de VHS video to digital, once in the HD the video can be converted to any video format supported by TMPGEnc, I use the FLYVIDEO 2000 capture card and, as a suggestion you should capture the video in AVI format, the files will use a lot of HD space but the quality will be the best.

disculpen pero el software esta en ingles y no entiendo bien .. estoy tratando de generar un mpg de un archivo Avi... tengo que volver a hacer todo de nuevo cada vez que abro el proyecto... a pesar de haber generado mas de la mitad de archivo ???

Easg  2004-08-21 00:23:08 ( ID:qpauqv8q4pf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Question - Wrong frame rate detected by TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress No.53240
fred  2004-07-24 14:23:21 ( ID:qayypgaxr9. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

My source file (xvid) is detected wrongly as 30 fps by TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress.

TMPGEnc 2.5 detects 25 fps as does virtualdub and VideoToolbox.

I am unable to change the frame rate setting as it is grayed out, so I am forced to use TMPGEnc 2.5 instead.

Any solution?

fred  2004-08-05 03:15:14 ( ID:huueh0qz1ao )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Guess not. This bbs really moves! I'll answer my own question.

The encoder is not in error. It is the VFAPI reader:DirectShow Multimedia File Reader that is at fault. So what is this crap and how do I fix it?

I'll answer myself next month no doubt.

Question - Audio Desynchronized No.53238
Easgs  2004-07-22 17:06:30 ( ID:qpauqv8q4pf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Why in some part of the movie, not all, the audio gets desynchronized and after this point the audio goes desynchronized until the end of the movie. I get this With Predator 2.

callum00  2004-08-30 17:55:48 ( ID:ad8/qkszgcg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have just encountered the same problem.

My source is an MPEG2 Video with an MPEG1 Layer 2 audio track which I was trying to re-encode to change video size and audio bit/sampling frequencies. After about 20000 frames there is a noticeable lag in the audio which gets progressively worse

I have found that by first de-multiplexing the audio and video then encoding from these two files fixed the problem. Unfortunately this also significantly increases the encoding time.

No idea why this happens though. I only stumbled across the fix by trial and error - but still very annoying!

Hope this helps

Question - Can't get seperate audio and video file output from TMPGenc No.53234
J187  2004-07-19 22:23:21 ( ID:drj3afpqdv6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm using TMPGenc Express 3.0
Ok, the setting in one version of TMPGenc was
"Output video and audio as individual elementary streams."
I've got TMPGenc express 3.0. After encoding only one output file comes out, not seperate audio and video file. I would like to author with IFOEdit and when I select video source theres no problem, but for the audio source, theres no seperate file. The audio was MP3 so I shouldn't have to extract it. The settings on Express 3.0 are a little different, can anybody tell me what the equivilent of "Output video and audio as individual elementary streams" is in the 3.0 vers that would give me two seperate output files?

anton  2004-07-20 15:09:58 ( ID:at0ygnxhyen )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

you will need to select elementary streams (ES) after saving a template, I know, confusing....
