Dear all:

I want load the *.vob file from DVD disk first, finally make the SVCD by Nero after edit the clip (cut and merge).

Thank you so much!!

Minion  2002-06-19 05:57:43 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are you trying to say "How Easy Is It To Make A SVCD From A DVD"?First Of All You Do Not Load The VOB Files Into Tmpgenc,You Need To Download DVD2AVI To Make A D2V File And A Wav File From Your VOB Files, Then You Encode The D2V File And The Wav File In Tmpgenc With The SVCD Template And Encode, This Way You Do Not Need To Join The Mpeg Files..Go To "www.vcdhelp.com" And You Will Find Out How To Do It.....

Hey I get this error when I try to make and Mpeg from Dvd.
I get a privelege order error. I use virtualdub to extract the audio. please help.

Minion  2002-06-19 05:51:12 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What are you doing,?Are you loading the vob files into tmpgenc?if you are that is not the way to do it, encodeing vob files takes forever, use dvd2avi to make a d2v file and a wav file then load the d2v file and wav file into tmpgenc and encode...

Just a thought...

Question - How to convert MPEG2 (SVCD) to MPEG1 (VCD) ? No.23583
Eran  2002-06-18 21:35:07 ( ID:4d4uj.l20kw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I would like to convert SVCD files to VCD (my DVD player only supports VCD).
Can it be done with TMPG? When I try to load the MPEG2 file I get an unrecognized format error. Any help appreciated.

GregWilson  2002-06-18 22:01:15 ( ID:exmt1m8rfer )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Copy all the SVCD movie files to computer in the same directory... renaming them like film01.dat, file 02.dat etc.... then use DVD2AVI and load in the first film... it should find the others... save project after getting the settings you want... let that run through creating the audio and d2v file... then load them into TMPGEnc like usual....

Minion  2002-06-18 22:08:10 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If you have the mpeg2 codec installed you can just load the mpeg2 file directly into tmpgenc but you might have to de-multiplex it first, there is a link to the mpeg2 codec in post # 9161, another way to do it is to load your mpeg2 file into the "vfapi converter" and it will make a psudo avi file that you can load into tmpgenc to encode to mpeg1....

ASHY  2002-06-20 21:27:44 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If you use the DVD2AVI method make sure your files have a .mpg extension not .dat as that is for MPEG1 not MPEG2 and make sure untick the audio option as you don't need any audio.
You can just multiplex the audio from the original SVCD with your new MPEG1 when you have encoded it.

Question - Is anyone using DirectX8.1 and 'dsvd' compressor? No.23582
jen lim  2002-06-18 18:52:39 ( ID:uj4bzxdhryn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

I have having problems encoding Microsoft AVI (performed by 'dsvd' compressor) into VCD. The encoding will fail 38%, 45%, 50% with this message "Error reading module XXXXXX in TMPGEnc.exe "

And I'm running DirectX8.1. I have installed the VFAPI plug-in, and set the Environmental Settings; giving the highest priority to DirectShow Multimedia File Reader, followed by the Project File Reader, and unchecking the other options.

Does anyone know if the File Readers in the VFAPI plug-ins rely on the video codecs installed in the individual PCs?

fyi. These AVI files were rendered in Premiere 6.01 and can play properly in Windows Media Player.

Any idea?

Jen

Question - Automatic Batch Running on Startup No.23581
GregWilson  2002-06-18 17:33:50 ( ID:fxb5hiq2uzc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there a way to get TMPGenc to automatically run a batch once the program is started?

I have it in my startup directory, and when windows starts it just loads, but i would like it to start running a batch once it's run...

Is this possible at all?

Thanks..

Greg Wilson.

Question - recognition problem No.23576
BrothaDee  2002-06-18 17:11:21 ( ID:evcjzc5fbsm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

>Yo guyz, I'm a newbie on this computer topics so please spare me. I have the following question:

This is what I want to achieve:

- encode avi, mpg, dvx movies downloaded from the net and play it on my dvdplayer (TV-PAL) on my TV-Pal, dont like whatching long movies behind my PC.

When I use this program it encodes the files to mpg2 files, but when I burn then on a CD my DVD-player (which can translate also V-CD formats) doesn't recognize the file format. It isn't properly converted to be viewed on my TV (DVD/V-CD player)

Please help!

BrothaDee from Amsterdam Holland

It might have something to do with the way you are burning your files to disk ,I don"t know how you are doing it but the easiest program for this is "Nero" and you can not just burn it to a disk as a data file it has to be burned as a svcd...But this is just a guess cuz you didn"t give us very much information, why don"t you write back and tell us what you did, the procedure and software you used and the statistics of your avi/divx file......

Dear Minion,

thanx for replying, i shall describe my steps like this:

I downloaded movies from the kazaa server (the dvd ripped movies or something like that maybe divx codec) the entire movie is too tired to watch it on pc so i like to play them in my dvd player which also plays vcd. A friend of mine gave me a cdrom which has been burned with a vcd file BUT it isn't just like 1 file I have examined the cdrom in my pc and my pc says it contains the following maps and files:1 map called: Cdi containing the following files: Vcd.ap, Avseq01.dat, Vcd.rtf next map: Mpegav contains the file: Avseq01.dat (its about 635MB) the third map: Vcd containg: Entries.vcd and Info.vcd.
This type is USABLE in my DVD-player so I can watch it on myy TV, but when I used TMPG I got a differend type of files!!!!!! My DVD Player whasn't able to recognize the files when I burned them on a cdrom and inserted it in the dvdplayer. Please describe where I did go wrong or maybe U know another type of program which can turn AVi, MPG or DIVX files into the VCD type which I described earlier.
Yours sincerely,
BrothaDee AM*DAM XXX

I forgot you are doing mpeg2/svcd it is pretty much the same procedure as vcd and you use the same burning program....

Minion  2002-06-19 06:19:20 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

For some reason my posts are not comeing up, I just wrote a big long post about your problem but it was deleted some how, any way here goes again, you problem is that you are just burning the mpeg file to a cd-r, you can not do that, you have to burn it in "vcd or svcd" mode with a burning program that is for burning vcd/svcd"s, download "nero burning rom" at "www.nero.com" it is the best and easiest for burning vcd/svcd"s and is very user friendly, but it will not work unless you burn your mpeg files in vcd/svcd mode....

Question - After upgrading TMPGEnc M2V takes forever to open No.23569
dmonty  2002-06-18 16:08:20 ( ID:vhjivw8cahh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi all,
I just upgraded to TMPGEnc Plus Ver.2.55 from version 2.54. Now when I open M2V files it takes about 10 - 15 min to open them for processing. This would not be so bad except that if I attempt to use advanced tools (like clipping) it take another 10 - 15 min to load the M2V into the preview window.

Any clues?

D

Minion  2002-06-19 05:14:50 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

There seems to be something definately wrong cuz they load instantly with no wait on my system, and I don"t have a fast system, have you tried to delete tmpgenc and re-downloading it?

Mike  2002-06-19 16:03:10 ( ID:tdr5ilee7uo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've had this problem as well. I could find anything common though as some files worked and others didn't. Tried all sorts ie file sizes, resoltions, fps etc. I ended up using ReMpeg to resize the m2v file and then putting it back into Tmpgenc. It worked fine then, its just ReMepg can be slow sometimes.

dmonty  2002-06-19 21:47:19 ( ID:vhjivw8cahh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have tried removing & reinstalling both TMPGEnc and the plug-in. Increasing the priority of the M2V plug-in. Tried opening several other M2Vs.Witchcraft, exorcism, bribery, begging & pleading, letters to Santa, and rubbing a little butter on it. Nothing helps. Still take 10 - 15 min to open the M2V. I guess I'll just live with it for now.But is anyone can suggest something before I combust....

Thanks

D

Sounds like theres something dodgy going on on your system. Have you got more than 1 MPEG2 codec installed. Try deleteing all the MPEG2 codecs on your system and install just one as they can conflict or as a work around create a d2v from your m2v with DVD2AVI and load that.

Question - Help with "Illegal MPEG system stream" No.23568
dean  2002-06-18 15:42:18 ( ID:tzffejrplfc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

My Tmpgenc (2.50 And also 2.51) was working fine, then after not using it for a couple of weeks, I'm now getting this error:

"Illegal MPEG system stream".

This happens after reaching 100% complete during an encode to mpeg2 (svcd type, 22mins).

Also, I don't think TMPGEnc is fully completing encode. Usually after a tmpgenc reaches 100%, my harddrive is active while tmpgenc completes the file. But now after reaching 100%, has the "illegal mpeg system stream" error, and there is no further hard drive activity. I tested with two different avi files. The resulting mpeg file created has video that freezes momentarily at a few specific points in the file.

Also, VCDeasy tools, analyze mpeg file describes the created mpeg file as:

MPEG2, PlayingTime=272.038s, Bitrate=2674800bps, PtsOffset=0726s, 39812 packets
Video Stream: Motion Video, 480x480, 29.97003fps (NTSC), 2520kbps
Audio Stream: Audio Standard MPEG layer2 Stereo, 44100Hz, 163840bps
--Warnings:
mpeg scan: pack header code (0x000001ba) expected, but 0xb6db6db6 found (buflen = 2324)
bad packet at packet #39812 (stream byte offset 92523088) -- remaining 341974276 bytes of stream will be ignored
