Well, the video file is the same as the audio file, and I dont think I have virtualdub, but Im not sure. Im new at this program and I have no clue what your talking about when u say some of this

Techno  Home )  2002-04-21 17:08:58 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

please post in the same thread instead of making a new one.

Virtualdub, free full program from www.virtualdub.org.

Download it

Then open it

load the avi from file > load
then goto audio > full processing mode
then goto audio > compression and select no compression pcm
then goto file > save wav and type a name
then wait for a few minutes/secs

then load this wav file in the audio source in TMPGENC and load the video in the video source in TMPGENC and encode.

This should work, encode a sample first to see if there is audio coming.

Question - No Sound No.19532
lunatic2328  2002-04-21 16:47:00 ( ID:y5svib46iqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hey, does anyone know why when I convert a .avi to a .mpg, the sound wont come out on the .mpg but its perfect on the .avi? I loaded the video file, then it automatically chooses the audio file. Any ideas?

Question - cutting problems with tmpgenc No.19526
ntpphong  2002-04-21 16:40:03 ( ID:sjj8at8cr9g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

how come i always loose sound for few/30sec everytime after i cut my mpg2?
i had 1600MB file and cut it into two parts, and first part kept missing few seconds sound in the end.
BUG? but i tried the old 12a version and same thing happened

Techno  Home )  2002-04-21 16:45:47 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I do not know why but the other thing u can do is to encode the file but using the source range filter to mark the points where u want to encode from and to.

Techno

TheOldMan  2002-04-22 07:16:03 ( ID:zcjfk3/l9kh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

is the sound ok in the mpgeg before u cut it ??
If so try vcdeasy will burn cd and cut file after a preset limit (say 750megs)

ntpphong  2002-04-22 17:07:06 ( ID:sjj8at8cr9g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

the sound was ok in the source mpg2, but just when i try to cut it it's missing sound in the first part.
and the weird thing is that that happens to mpg2 only, normal vcd files dont lose sound in the end.
i can't try vcdeasy because it's svcd

dfalcon  2002-04-25 06:01:19 ( ID:dcotnpllhgo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have found the same thing. I have not found a way to fix it other than to use the source range - if you use the batch mode with the source range you can still do the whole thing in one go.

If anyone else knows how to fix this it would be GREAT!

What I currently do is to encode the first half 15 seconds longer and then the second half with 15 seconds of overlap. That way nothing is missing - when the audio cuts out it is time to change disc's.

What's the problem of SVCD with VCDeasy?
It does both VCD and SVCD.

Help!
After encoding a Divx file into mpeg, I played the mpeg but there was only audio NO visual. My PC config: Pentium 3 (1Ghz), 96mb RAM, Windows ME, Divx5 Player and codec bundle.

Techno  Home )  2002-04-21 13:59:53 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

uninstall DIVX v5 codec
install v 4.12 or v4.11 of the DIVX codec
encode the avi in TMPGENC and there should be audio and video.

dear sir....
after converting dvd to vcd i get something like small dots or blocks in the backround,do you know how to stop these dots from happining?

also when i play the converted vcd in a dvd player(regoin2) nothing will happen
but playing the same vcd in a standalone vcd player it will work,do you know why?

thank you for your time

Techno  Home )  2002-04-21 14:01:58 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Assalam-o-alykum brother.

How are you?

The reason that the vcd may not work in the dvd player is because the dvd player may not support CDR or VCD! If it support VCD then it MUST support CDR.

What do u mean by dots in the background? Please give more explanation.

Thanks

Techno

you cannot get DVD quality. You can get NEAR DVD quality.

the squares are called macroblocks/blocks.

The only way to get rid of them is to make sure that the source is good.

VCD is not good quality.

load the vcd template
then load the unlock template
change the vbv buffer size to 224 and encode the avi

Question - TMPGEnc freezes when trying to cut No.19516
drash  2002-04-21 12:02:03 ( ID:3q6i1jmsee6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just successfully encoded a MPEG-2 SuperVideo CD from a DVD rip and it plays just fine. When trying to cut into smaller size with MPEG tools, TMPGEnc freezes as soon as I attempt to enter range in "edit merge item".

Using Athlon xp1600+ with 512 mb RAM running Windows XP Pro. Any suggestions on the cause of this problem or how to resolve?

Techno  Home )  2002-04-21 13:02:20 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

well, the video may have corrupted frames.

The best thing to do is to encode using the source range filter in the advanced options/settings.

Thanks for the quick response, techno.

Must be a bug using Win xp. I booted into Winme on the same machine and it worked just fine then.

Question - MPEG2 file gets larger than estimated in TMPGEnc wizard No.19510
Terje  2002-04-21 11:45:29 ( ID:m8zdlcu5val )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I use the framserver in VirtualDub 1.4.9 with ÅÓesizeEand ÅÔmart deinterlaceEfilters set. In TMPGEnc I run the wizard for svcd Pal, with VBR 1950Kb/s (50min on 700 mb CD-R. The file is estimated to 703Mb. I plan to burn to a 80 min CD. The movie info is 480x576 25fps 44100Hz stereo 46min 36 sec. After encoding in TMPGEnc, the file size gets over 949 Mb.
Please, can anyone explain this for me? Also, when playing the file on my PC, the quality seems good in the beginning of the movie, but after about 3 min it gets blocky. Large Colour blocks flickers over parts of the image.

Terje

Techno  Home )  2002-04-21 11:52:39 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

burn using nero, nero uses timescale, not file size!!! :)

so if u have 1GB movie lasting 40mins, nero will burn it cause it is under the CD capacity length! :)

as for blocky ness, make sure the original source is good.

make sure the vbv buffer size is 224 (which I think it is), did u use very high quality and 10 bits for dc precision esitmate?

Techno

Terje  2002-04-21 14:48:53 ( ID:hevseckyckw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanks for youÃÓe help Techno. The vbv buffer was set to 112, quality normal and the dc precision to 8. I used a template for svcd Pal. I will try the settings you recommended, and see if I get any improvement.

This has to go out now:

YOU CANT BURN MORE THAN 800 MB ON AN 80 MINUTE CD-R(W) THIS IS PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE

This is RAW data like (S)VCD or audio. Copy the mpeg a few times and burn it again and you know why data CDs use 100 MB for filesystem parity data.

As other People already said: This Nero uses blabla is big rubbish. Im not inclined to waste an CR-R on that but the worst that could happen is that Nero but?hers frames out of the stream to make it fit.

Regarding that VBV myth: If you want ill advice: take it.

Terje  2002-04-26 10:21:47 ( ID:tn5owqp2ec. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have not yet had time to try out these settings. TMPGEnc estimate that it will take 22 hours to finish the process with these new settings.
Any idea why TMPGEnc estimates the size of the file to 700Mb, when the actual result is 949Mb ?

Techno  Home )  2002-04-21 10:15:11 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

encode the audio as MP3 then load that in TMPGENC and encode, see what happens

Does anyone know of an encoder that... converts wav to mp3?

As this is the essence of the request.

Question - what is a floating decimal error? No.19494
DJHZ  2002-04-21 05:50:14 ( ID:fhaiaxbxuuf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have been using TMPGEnc just fine with lots of success, but twice I have not been able to encode movies and have gotten "floating decimal error" What is this and can/how can it be corrected? Please respond asap. I live on an island in Alaska with no movie theater, and this is how we "go" to the movies! IT stinks to have to wait for Movies to come out on video/dvd all the time, so this is great for us out here!!!!!!!

sherlock  2002-04-21 06:34:11 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

to get rid of the "floating decimal error" un-check all the settings in the "cpu" and "quantize matrix" tabs, it might make it a bit longer to encode.
you seem to get this error when you have some corrupted frames in your file....
