After encoding an DV avi file to SVCD Pal (VBR 1600 kbps) I found that the audio is not in sync any more with the video. I have checked this with the original file on the pc and also by play the mpeg file with WinDVD and by burning this to an SVCD using nero.
I have been having the same problem. I capture a 30 min SVCD MPEG2 with WinTVPVR, and it is in sync when played back. In order for me to burn to a SVCD i have to Simple Multiplex the SVCD file with TMPENC, after this is done the Audio gets progressively more out of sync until the end. (It seems like its in sync at the beginning, but not even close about 10-20 min into the file)
I am using the demo version of tmpgenc and I don't know if this is a bug or a feature request.
My drive that the output file was being pointed to was close to full. When tmpenc filled the drive it said "error" but not very explanitory.
It would be nicer if before creating the mpeg2 stream that it did a rough estimation of the size needed on the drive and report back to the user if there isn't enough space, or a warning at least.
I am looking to create a template that correctly sets the size of the SVCD output for my DVDplayer/TV combo and found I needed to change the option: video arrage method under the advanced tab to correctly change the size of the video and still keep it in mpeg2 format. Unfortunately the template save function doesn't save this setting, and I am wondering what I need to set in the template to correctly save this setting in it for future use, as it is quite a pain to change it every time.
Well, it saves the template, just not the setting for video arrange method/size of the video arrage setting. I get no errors and it saves nearly every other setting. I can only assume it isn't built to save that setting and you have to manually enter it in the template

TmpgEnc used to run fine in winMe.
After loading Video Factory 1.0 from Sonic Foundry, it freeze when dropping a .m2v file to it.
Uninstall Video Factory no help.
tried to convert an avi-file to mpeg1. Seems the programm works, but there´s no preview, the screen is blank (dark). preview option is on "thinned". Version TMPEG 2.53. Who can help me ?
I found TMPGEnc about a month ago, and was really happy to finally find a free program that can edit MPEG files. The Merge & Cut part was awesome-but it has ceased to work. I began to notice that the start & end points I set were NOT the ones that I ended up with when the clip was processed. This has gotten noticeably worse recently, but it is not my computer-I installed it on another PC and had the same problem. It now is SEVERAL seconds difference between where I set the start & endpoints and where they actually are. Can anyone help? I am really upset about this-I have a video project that is due tonight, and TMPGEnc has fallen apart right when I needed it. Any help is appreciated.
the "cut" feature in "tmpgenc" sucks and I can"t find another mpeg cutting program that is free.so what i do is either cut my avi. files into 40min parts then encode them,or use the "source range" feature in the "advanced settings" that lets you encode the part of the movie that you wan"t,but I have had sync problems with it to...........
I'm converting the Lord of the Rings DivX to VCD and encountering problems.. There are two files and converting them to .mpg was easy. However, now I've tried to merge them and the audio just cuts out after a while - approximately 29:45 into the first file til the end of the first file and then likewise for the second file. So, I have this 2 hour some file that looks great, but I only have audio for a half of an hour in the beginning and and half of an hour in the middle. Anyone know the problem? Is it the codec? I truly don't know and would like to fix the problem
Um... I have the same problem... Anyhow I downloaded virtualdub 1.3c and have no clue what the heck to do... i tried to open my asf file, but an error keep on popping out.... can someone give me a step by step instruction on how to extract the audio to wav file...
I know this is a vague question, but I'll give all the details I can. I tried to encode a SVCD from a .d2v project(video) and an .wav(audio) from DVD2avi. I used TMPGE 2.53. When I ran it the process started, then an error box poped up and said the file for the SVCD could not be created. There was no information as to why it could not be created. I followed the wizard and a guide from VCDhelp. If any one knows some secret or a good guide for TMPGE please let me know.
Thank you
