Hi when i try to convert a DVIX.avi rip, it says AN ERROR OCCURED WHEN AUDIO WAS DECODED. I can play the .avi file just fine in windows media player, And i am able to convert other avi files, but this one gives me that error, any ideas what i might do/check?
I am a new user and keep getting the same error message. It always comes when the file is 90% complete or better. I have upped the Direct Show filter all the way to 3 now, and have made many changes to the Quantize Matrix, to no avail. Is there anything else I might try? I've been at it since early this morning with no luck.
I get this msg when I load a video source and then select the "Settings" button. I am running windows 98. Am I missing a Windows file or do I need to change any configuration.
That's the version I have. The first Wizard screen comes up, but everything else is greyed. The template tree is totally blank. I can manually load in templates, but not via the Wizard. I'm running Win2K and the software is on H: patition (I tried C: but had same problem). I noticed there waw no install program. I simply unzipped the contents into a directory and ran the application.

I'll try. But this is the latest and "freshest" copy. I'm wondering if there are some environment variables I need to set. For example, there is a configeration settings file. Is this read by TMPGEnc or by the OS? Also, all my template files have ".mcf" extension, but doesn't the program search for ".tpr"?
all the templates have .mcf ,I dont use the wizard cuz the wizard seem to lock in most of the settings and to get a better quality I need to adjust the bitrate and other locked settings.....does any one know how to get rid of the wizard?cuz I hate haveing to turn it off every time I start the program.......

what you do is load in your avi/d2v file choose your template and settings then save it,you will have a batch file now, repeat this step as many times as you need then go to "batch encode" and load these files in,then you are ready to go...
i think u have to use winzip assitant and follow the indications in order to be able to decompress and install TMPGEnc correctly. i give u this advice because i was in the same situaton at first and i did exactly like i tell u.
If you download the latest version of TMPGENC it includes templates, it also has a project wizard which earlier versions didn't, this allows you to easily make VCD, SVCD or DVD compliant files in either PAL or NTSC with a couple of easy clicks.
Compliant files (after being burnt to disk) can then be played on a DVD or VCD player. Nearly all DVD players play VCD & DVD and some play SVCD. VCD players only play VCD.
Playstation 1 can play VCD but not SVCD or DVD if you buy an adapter. Playstation 2 can play DVD but not VCD or SVCD.
I downloaded a movie from the Internet, in .avi. I wanted to change it to .mpg for a video CD. It took eight hours yesterday, and it was the wrong settings. Are these settings all right ?
MPEG-1
352 x 240
29,97 fps
CBR
1150kbps
Layer-2 44100Hz
224kbps
4:3
525 line (NTSC)
Thanks
I had to installed the program again. Now, the wiz is working. I started encoding a movie. But the faces of the actors are long. It's a cinemascope movie. What should I do ?
I was wondering how difficult it would be to add an overlay image? Preferrably a PNG or TIFF, since then I wouldn't need to use a seperate application such as Vegas or Premier to add a graphic along the bottom of my videos. I'm simply going from DV ->MPeg Video/Audio streams then staright to DVD. TMPGENC is by far the fastest software encoder I've seen, and being able to add this one small feature would be perfect!
you need to put your grafic on with another program,"tmpgenc" is strictly for encodeing and it definately is not the fastest but it is the most versitile and easy to use and has the best quality for you buck....
Hello, i can't open any avs files (created with Avisynth) if these avi files are compressed. I only can open the avs files if they have uncompressed avisource. Why? Thanks to all by colin
I am converting AVI and MPEG files to the VCD format. After TMPG software appears to covert my project to VCD I burn it to a CD. I have tried every DVD player and it cannot be read. The brand of CD is PNY, the CD burner is a Samsung, and I have tried to play on APEX, Panasonic, and JVC players.
