Question - fuzzy horizontal line No.17542
devious  2002-03-30 08:51:53 ( ID:e/lfcuk7sao )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Anyone ever seen their encoded mpg have a fuzzy horizontal bar that runs across the bottom of the movie. Its a little bar that appears throughout the entire movie. It's weird because I have encoded successfully before using the same settings and this had never happened. Any idea whats wrong?

Question - how do we specify a sequence of still files ??? No.17538
ron flory  2002-03-30 05:16:02 ( ID:h.7iqq7wu26 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Having given up on the AVI and quicktime readers (the QT reader
is hopelessly broken, skipping and repeating frames like crazy)
I'd like to revert to a sequence of still files. According
to the VFAPI plugins tab I should be able to do this, but I
have yet to stumble upon the magic specification...

Thanks-

ron

Richard  2002-03-30 20:16:06 ( ID:kwfsrhnna/w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have had success opening Quicktimes in QT5 Pro and exporting as .bmp frames.

In TMPGenc, I untick all vfapi plugins except the TGA/BMP/etc one and then select the first frame in the sequence in the "Source video" chooser. You may need to change the selector below it to *.bmp.

TMPGenc does not seem to recognise .tga generated by Quicktime 5.

ron flory  2002-03-31 05:31:12 ( ID:h.7iqq7wu26 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

yes, I seem to have discovered the same issues...

Also, tmpgenc seems to not like spaces in the filenames...

Also, if you read an image sequnce using the 'wizard', it
will only use the first frame (and repeat it for the entire
program).

thanks-

ron

The "one frame only", problem also occurs if you attempt to use the "Source Range" feature - you have to remove unneeded frames from the the start or end of the sequence manually.

Request - Suggestions for improvement No.17536
Allan  2002-03-30 01:58:41 ( ID:dbad4zimemm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

Suggestion 1: Move "MPEG Tools" from under the FILE menu choice to its own item on the menu bar: "File MPEG Tools ...". This gives these tools more emphasis to users.

Suggestion 2: Allow multiple AVIs to be specified as input and then process them into a single MPEG.

Thanks for a great product!

Allan

The second solution/suggestion will happen in future versions of TMPGENC. read the txt file when you download the program. It mentions it in the "future plans"

after I use dvd to avi,to make a d2v. file ,can I now get rid of the vob. files,or boes tmpgenc need them to encode??? thanx...

Ashy  2002-03-30 14:12:53 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Your right that is a stupid question. How can you create a full movie from something that is only a few hundred kb?
The d2v file is merely a file which contains settings and parameters which another program uses to create the movie.

sherlock  2002-03-31 22:03:58 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I thought maybee the wav. file might have the rest of the movie in it but wasn"t sure, this was the first time I used dvd2avi...and newbies ask stupid questions..thanz ashy

hey, I was just wondering if there's anyway for me to fix this or if my computer is just screwed to hell. I want to convert a d2v file using TMPEG since I've heard it delivers very good quality, and I did everything to get the program to recognize the file type, my only problem now is that whenever I go to load the file, the program freezes up on me. Is there anything that can stop this or do I just need a new computer.

Question - Out of Sync No.17526
Briannola  2002-03-29 22:17:16 ( ID:rkduhw95pwc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am consistantly get the out of sync audio/video. The original movie is at 24.000 fps but none of the templates give me 24.000fps. It is either 29.97 or 23.976. i have followed several guides written but still always out of sync. What am I doing wrong?

Techno  Home )  2002-03-30 09:21:40 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What to do is to load in the template.

Then open the unlock.mcf template

Then change the frame rate

and change the audio freq. to 44100Hz.

This should work

Question - MPEG->AVI sound not synchronized No.17522
Brian  2002-03-29 21:38:17 ( ID:8/d2uel0k9f )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

After converting a MPEG file to AVI, the display and sound are great, however, the sound doens't line up with the video. You see the person talk, but then you hear the voice later. Is there a certain setting for this not to happen?

Thanks,
Brian

Techno  Home )  2002-03-29 21:40:36 ( ID:82zqdopxre6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What did you set your audio sample freq. at? it must be 44100Hz. Also, what is the frame rate? Try increasing it to the next stage.

Try extracting the wav/audio to wav using virtualdub (www.virtualdub.org) and then load in the vid and audio together and encode. This should work
