I am trying to create a Bluray. Have added all source files (14)but the Menu button is not active. Only the Start & Source buttons are active. I have even reduced the number of source files but still does not work.
I have downloaded the latest update but still nothing.
What kind of files are you trying to author and make menus for? I know that, when I use ArcSoft Showbiz to capture, if I capture in TS or M2TS mode, I can make menus, but (as I recall...) if I capture MP4 files, I cannot create a menu in TAW-4.
Is it possible to have subtitles on by default? In other words, can I author a DVD that displays subtitles without the user having to pick a DVD menu item or using the subtitle control on the player?
I have two tracks on a custom menu and I'd like to have the option of having links to audio tracks and subtitles on the top menu. I've tried doing it with no top menu, but then there is no way to get from one track to the other. I even tried creating some custom buttons (it wouldn't let me hit ok, no matter what I did), thinking I could tell a picture or text to link to a certain page.
Is there a way to add my own link within the menu structure, or am I limited to the material in the various tracks? In case my explanation isn't clear, here's an image of the top menu I'm working on, where I'd like to add a subtitle/audio link to the page that has both of them on it.
I'm just trying to create a menu in the way that most retail DVD menus are designed, where the main page has a link to all of the options that the disc offers, like special features, audio and subtitles, and chapter selections, along with a play movie option. Authoring Works seems to offer all of these options, but not necessarily all at the same time on the same page. Am I missing something?
TAW4 won't let you have audio/subtitle links on the top menu. I think it's because each track can have it's own set of audio and subtitle tracks, which is why they can only appear on track menus.
Hi, I have 76 videos in mp4 format, 75Mb each (a total of 5GB), but when added to new proyect Start - Bluray BDMV video weighs 1.5 Gb each (totaling almost 100GB). I can do to the videos do not weigh much, may enter into a Bluray of 23GB and keep the original quality. thanks
TAW5 will re-encode that video to make it Blu-ray compliant. The resolution will be changed to 720x480 at least. I'm also guessing that TAW5 is giving the videos a larger bitrate. The audio will also be re-encoded as Dolby Digital (ac3) or LPCM. Make sure audio is encoded as ac3 to save space.
You can change the encoding settings in the Track Settings.
My bad, this is for TAW4, so your video will be converted to MPEG-2 which is not as efficient as MPEG-4 AVC, so that's also part of why the file size gets bigger. In other words, the outputted MPEG-2 video can be double the size (or more) because MPEG-2 can't compress as much data as MPEG-4 AVC.
Trying to load TMPGENc Authorising Works 4 program wants to Renew License. Each time it trys, however, results in error message "Stop Serial". I recently purchased a disk version of TMPGENc Authorising 5 BUT yet not installed it. Any ideas why it fails to renew license?
When I click on start output,it tells me that the the clip total bit rate(which is 9948) is too high for a DVD-video.
Is it possible to make the bit rate smaller,so that I can get it to fit on a DVD?
You can change the bitrate for each track.
Go to the Source stage and click on the "Settings" button for the track with the high bitrate.
Go to the Video tab and change the Encoder mode to "Re-encode all videos as below".
Change the max bitrate and bitrate as necessary.
I've tried disabling my AV software and setting compatibility options, which I have never had to do before, but no success. This is the first time ever, in several years of ownership, that I've had an issue installing TMPGEnc software.
Disregard. On a whim, I navigated to the folder in the error message and found that all of my TMPGEnc products' folders (except Instant Show Presenter for some reason), had little locks on their icons. I checked the security settings and found that only my user ID was allowed to write to the folder. I changed this to Everyone and the software installed. =D
Now I just need to figure out what changed the security settings. >-(
I've been putting a bunch of TV episodes onto Blu-Ray. All of these are retail DVD and they seem complient to me. They're all 720x480 yet when I import them, they show up as full render. I've made sure smart render is selected yet I still get full render. What am I doing wrong? Here's most of the specs

Are they all 4:3 or is there a mix of 4:3 and 16:9? Putting 4:3 and 16:9 videos in the same track will cause some of them to be full rendered.
Are you putting them all in the same track? Try putting them in separate tracks.
Are you importing these directly from the DVD?
Did you choose an NTSC Blu-ray project?

I'm on the AW 5 trial version, but hopefully can get an answer here. I'm editing a blu-ray project that's about 104 minutes long. The audio ends at about 100 minutes although the video continues and the original .ts file has the sound.
I have installed the NVidia 301.42 drivers. On using TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4, I get an error code of 0x80070057 when trying to edit the file. I cannot progress from that point.
On uninstalling the 301.42 drivers and going back to the 296.10 drivers, all is well again with no errors at all.
It seems then that the 301.42 drivers are at fault in this situation. Is opinion too? Do you have any advice, fixes etc to offer?

I contacted NVidia, sent them the logs. They replied that it wasn't going to be fixed yet, but hopefully in a future driver update. Until then, I'll use 296.10.
