Request - Delete subs from mkv/avi No.62442
Wilfredo  Home )  2009-12-25 16:35:29 ( ID:9cd2htpdzwf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It's as simple as that. Why do I need to use another program to delete subs from mkv and/or avis? ConvertXtoDVD can do it, but I like to work in TMPGE and I don't want to buy another program for this.

I just want to import my video, select the subtitle and delete it to add my own.

Is that a difficult thing to ask?

Question - Slow Processing for Converted WTV files No.62440
greencw  2009-12-23 19:28:54 ( ID:nanbnvra9lf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I recently upgraded my laptop from Vista to Windows 7 and have to convert (via right click) the new Windows Media Center .wtv files to the old .dvr-ms format. TAW4 reads the resulting files, but the processing time for a 100 minute video is now over 2 hours. Before the upgrade, using the native dvr-ms files, TAW4 would go through a 100-minute video in 10-20 minutes. I have done this with about half-a-dozen converted wtv files, all with the same results. TAW4 is working normally with other file fomats, i.e. mpg and avi. Thanks for whatever help you can provide.

greencw  2010-01-08 03:01:35 ( ID:nanbnvra9lf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Here's the answer to my problem: my Hauppauge HVR-950 was not configured correctly for Windows 7. I had installed the standalone driver file, emp_voydrv_26322_27230.zip, but this was not sufficient. It was not until I installed the WinTV driver and WinTV v6 application update cd_4.8a.zip that the device started recording correctly. Both of these files can be found at the Hauppauge support page for this product: http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support_hvr950.html
Now TAW4 processes the converted dvr-ms files just fine.

Question - MPEG and VOB question No.62438
redsfan33  2009-12-23 02:18:05 ( ID:nhscm5ktsx2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I was wondering if this software re-encodes MPEG and VOB files when putting onto a video DVD? Will it not re-encode even without IFO files?

Thanks

tkrave  2009-12-23 18:17:06 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It will not re-encode MPEG video as long as it's compliant with the DVD-video specs. I don't have a vob file handy right now, but I'm sure it will also not be re-encoded since vob files are just containers for MPEG video.

The Smart Rendering feature, as they call it, also applies to making Blu-ray and DivX projects.

Question - Maintain AC3 Audio Track for Divx project No.62436
Priyavadan  2009-12-22 14:41:17 ( ID:ohdrex9ammn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am interested in knowing whether TMPGEnc Authoring Works4 will allow for AC3 5.1 audio track present in the source input file be maintained in the divx authored project. I purchased Divx Author 1.5 from Divx site which is powered by pegasys before TMPGEnc released it seperately on their own. I have TMPGEnc DVD Author 2.0 and would like to upgrade to TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4. Currently Divx Convertor by DIVX allows maintaining AC3 5.1 Audio tracks and would like to be sure I can have 5.1 Channel AC3 Audio in my Divx menu based projects I create for my Divx Ultra certified DVD player.

Thanks,

Priyavadan

The spec page is your friend.

Yes, you can output ac3 5.1 audio for DivX Ultra projects.

Question - Single menu, no track menu No.62434
Yakisoba  2009-12-22 02:26:52 ( ID:ifiano/5jvr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've been using TMPGEnc DVD Author since version 1.5. I recently upgraded to version 4 and found some difficulty in creating menus. I want a single still-picture menu that has links to play each track. I have 5 separate tracks.

By going through the Menu Wizard, I can only create a title menu that has a link to the track menu. And the track menu has the links to each track. Is there a way for me to delete the track menu and move the track links to the title menu?

tkrave  2009-12-22 17:52:56 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

No, there's no way to move the track links to the title page. I suggest not making a title page and going with the top menu only composition.

Request - Adjust Video size No.62433
Wilfredo  Home )  2009-12-21 15:56:05 ( ID:9cd2htpdzwf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I would like to see this feature on the program.

Say I have an AVI that has a 16:9 movie on a 4:3 format. I would like to re-size it to fill the 16:9 space, eliminating the two black bars at the top and bottom, once it is imported in a track.

You can set various sizes in clip properties, but this would be a custom size.

This would be a very nice and welcome feature.

Wilfredo.

Question - Problem importing mkv files in Windows 7 for TMPGENC Authoring Works 4.0.7.32 No.62432
superb88  2009-12-19 10:38:38 ( ID:we.yrcz9aom )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm using TMPGENC authoring works 4.0.7.32 trial version on windows 7...

I'm having problem importing mkv files though I've already installed all the necessary codecs require to play mkv files because mkv played perfectly fine in Windows Media Player, it should worked in TMPGENC authoring works right? Other movies files like rmvb works fine after installing the codecs but mkv refuses to be imported no matter how hard i try.

P/S, with the same codec pack I used, TMPGENC authoring works 4.0.7.32 worked fine importing mkv files in WINDOWS XP on my other machine but not on WINDOWS 7. Is there a bug or something? Because I want to make sure everything's in order before I do any purchase on the software. Has anyone encounter such a problem? Anything I can do to fix it?Thanks in advance... =)

Question - Importing Blu Ray/Invalid audio Bitrate No.62428
Wilfredo  Home )  2009-12-18 01:17:11 ( ID:9cd2htpdzwf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I can import a blu ray source, but when I try to create a Video_ts, it stops with an invalid audio bitrate error:

The "00001" clip's audio bitrate in the "track 1" Track is invalid. Save your project file and contact our user support service.

The track plays fine while cut and edit but I can't simulate or create the dvd from it.

What can I do?

tkrave  2009-12-18 01:51:03 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Maybe your audio bitrate is too high. If the source is Blu-ray and you're making a DVD, then that's a possibility. Lower the audio bitrate in your track settings.

Other than that, contact user support:

Wilfredo  Home )  2009-12-18 14:32:18 ( ID:9cd2htpdzwf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanks for the answer. The program should make that conversion for me, right?

I tried lowering the bit rate, but I can't change anything in the clip's Audio Properties.

It says 640 kb/s in audio bit rate. Where am I supposed to lower the bit rate?

Thanks.

Wilfredo  Home )  2009-12-18 14:38:03 ( ID:9cd2htpdzwf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Got it!

It was in the track settings not in the clip properties (I was looking in the wrong place), thanks again!

Wilfredo.

Question - TAW4 No.62422
CHEELYV  2009-12-17 08:17:01 ( ID:t83nofufalw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just wondering are there any known issues with video files being double/triple in size when using TAW4 (Bluray Bdmv)? When using "add a clip" a 8gb M2TS or TS AVCHD file becomes@ 16- 24gb in size.
System: Windows 7 64 bit, 8GGB DDR3, 1.5 TB HD, Asus Maximus 3 motherboard, EVGA GTS 250 video card.

Thanks

Forgot to mention in previous posting that my CPU is an Core I7 860

tkrave  2009-12-18 02:31:21 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The source video files are most likely compressed with the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC format. Since TAW4 can't output Blu-rays in H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, it has to convert the files to MPEG-2 format which isn't as good at compressing the video data. Thus, in order to keep the same quality level of your source files, it has to increase the size of the outputted MPEG-2 file.

H.264/MPEG-4 AVC compression can maintain the quality of a MPEG-2 file at roughly half the file size.

BTY,

I have a machine also that is running Windows XP64 and there are no issues with it making the video files larger as mentioned previously. It seems TAW4 only does this Windows 7. Also does the same thing with my other machine using vista 64.
Is this bug a known issue with the technical experts/ creators of TAW4?
Thanks

Disregard the last post, it also does it on my WindowsXP64 machine

Request - Need more than 15 thumbnails with 16:9 menu No.62416
Frank  2009-12-13 01:41:39 ( ID:gua7vk0wjlw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

With the 4:3 aspect ratio menu, you can have up to 32 thumbnails displayed on one page. But with 16:9, you can only have up o 15.

Is there a way to get more than 15 with 16:9?

Why would the maximum have decreased when the screen area increased?

Thank you,

Frank

tkrave  2009-12-14 18:13:08 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It's in there. Not sure why you can't see it though.

tkrave  2009-12-14 18:15:53 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I stand corrected. It appears it's limited to 15 thumbs for DVD's but not for Blu-rays. Weird. Good catch.

tkrave  2009-12-15 17:50:51 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

emailed support and apparently this is a limitation of the DVD format. For some reason, DVD 16:9 menus are limited to about 19 links, so that is why it they've limited it to 15 thumbnails (saving the remaining links for other buttons). DVD 4:3 menus have a higher link limit which is why they can have up to 32 thumbnails.

Jazz  2012-09-20 05:59:30 ( ID:tjcku8hlxu. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Now it's 2012, september.
I wonder if it is still 15 thumbnails max.
If it is 25 I have to buy this application.

Question - Dix Ultra No.62412
Hellboy.  2009-12-12 20:46:30 ( ID:.wh47wog/cg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I cant burn DivX Project to dvd?

tkrave  2009-12-14 18:50:35 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can burn DivX projects to DVD but if you have DivX menus, you'll only be able to see them if you play it on a DivX Ultra certified DVD player or on your computer with DivX Player software.

If you are having a technical issue with burning a DivX project to DVD then you'll have to be more specific.

web_ustaad  2009-12-26 14:18:30 ( ID:ekybhgvxwza )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

1. Is there any limit to the size of the DivX Ultra file, I tried file with menus greater than 2GB was not working on my DVD Player but was working fine on DivX Player ( software ).

2. Is there a way to link two external divx files via the divx ultra menu so I may have two independent files and a separate file only for menu.

tkrave  2009-12-28 18:29:24 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

1. I'm not sure why it's not working on your DVD player...Do DivX Ultra files that are less than 2GB work fine? I think there was a 4GB limit due to the use of the avi format, but I'm not sure if that is still true.

2. When you make a DivX Ultra file, it just takes all the videos and menus and creates one big DivX file, so no, it's not possible to keep all the files separate. That's just how the format is unfortunately.
