TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 BBS [ Sorted by thread creation date ]
Hi staff,
I'm using TMPGEnc DVD Author 4. I create DivX Ultra NTSC from a Xvid video file (800Kbps, ~350Mb). When encoding (output) it show only ~23 minutes done, faster than TMPGEnc Xpress 4 (more than 1 hours) :>
I try many options in TMPGEnc Xpress 4 but it can't compare with best speed TMPGEnc DVD Author 4's encoder. Anh the quality of both is same!
I'm using DivX 7 Pro and lastest Xvid codec.
One ~23 minutes and one more than 1 hours.
Can you explain for me! Thanks!
I'm guessing it's Authoring Works 4's smart rendering engine, which doesn't re-encode video unless it has to. Didn't realize it could be applied to Xvid video, but perhaps as long as it's compatible with DivX players, it can utilize smart rendering when output as DivX? In the Source stage, do you see the smart rendering icon in the clip list (a blue "SR" that appears on the clip thumbnail)?
Hello. I was wondering if anyone might know the trick to burning content onto dual layer DVDs in TMPGEnc4? I've burned a lot of single layer DVDs without any problems but if I try burning to a DL DVD then nothing usable is produced, yet I don't receive any errors and everything appears to process correctly. The discs won't play in any of my DVD players, including my PC, and produces a 'NO DISC' message in the displays. When I check Writer settings under Post-output process it recognizes the media and states 'This media disc is writable'. Plus, I know I have the hardware capability to burn playable dual layer discs because I can burn them using ImgBurn. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
HI,
I have burned DL with no problems with this program. My question is what media type are you trying to burn to. Verbatim's DL's are the best and I have no coasters with them. I just recently burned a DL Verbatim 2.4x and it works perfectly.
I haven't tried Memmorex, TDK, Playo yet, but will try them also.
What firmware/type of burner do you have. You mentioned that you can burn DL's with imgburn, so it may be the settings. Make sure that the speed matches the media.
These are just ideas so maybe someone else may have other ideas..
can someone tell me exactly how they were able to fix this MKV import problem? i have the latest codecs and all, since i did a system re-install i can no longer import mkv files...when i was using it before i did not have this problem..
1.Install K lite codec pack
2.Run Win7DSFilterTweaker (Start>All Programs>K lite codec packs>Tools)
3.Look 32 bit decoder side.Check H.264 and ffdshow below then apply
For a while my Authoring 4 works great, but suddenly ( i mst have changed something i can't remeber ), it stops working. When i fire up the program and select "Start a new project", i get the message "Can not find the class (0x8004800B)".. does anybody knows whay this means, or where i gone wrong? I like the program very much, my wife to...... and it's either this or explain to here how AfterXF work....... please guys, you cant do that to me :S
As I understand it, CUDA support in 4.0 XPress is mainly for filter processing (deinterlacing, sharpen, color correction, etc.), not encoding.
Since Authoring Works 4 doesn't have the filter functions that 4.0 XPress has, the developers would have to start from scratch and utilize CUDA for MPEG encoding to make it worthwhile.
I'm not sure if that's really the reason, but it could be a possible reason.
you are actually correct in this matter and its because im suffering with a cold that i totally forgot about reading cuda facts with tmpgenc.
it is the reason work doesn't deal with cuda because cuda is most effective with filters especially if you are using the video noise and multiple video adjustments.
I use TAW (german) on Vista with the most actual patches and SPs. PC is a C2D E8500 with 4 GB RAM.
Since I use TAW I tried to install the free template-packs published by Pegasys, but every time I start the installer, a metallic grey window with no text appears and can only be killed via taskmanager. Even waiting an hour or more does not lead to an installed template-pack.
Are you installing the German template packs or the English ones? They are language-specific. You'll need to go to the German page and use the ones from there:
i got error message during output process says
there is no enough space on the disk . (error code 0x80070070)
while i have enough space on the disk but and i have done many project with no problems .
i have TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4, vista business .
can anyone help solving this problem.
thanks
It's true, you don't have enough space. I've already run into this problem myself.
In your TMPGEnc Authoring program:
1.) click the "Options" button at the top right.
2.) select the "Preferences".
3.) select "Work folders" at the left of this new window that pops up.
4.) on the right, make sure the location of the "Temporary files folder" has enough space* for your project.
*If you you are creating a DVD file, then you should have twice the size as the size of the DVD you are authoring (single DVD of 4.7 GB means you need about 9 GB of free space), and if you are creating a DivX file, then you should have roughly an extra Gigabyte of space (with 4 GB file make sure your drive has total 5 GB free space.
Of course, the important thing to make sure is where your "Temporary files folder" is located, and might as well make sure where your "Output" is located, this is found in the "Work folders" as well.
I'm trying to create a simple DVD menu, but can't quite get the result I want.
All I want to do is create a single menu page for two movie files with a launch button for each file. So far, so good.
However, when either movie file has played, I want the DVD to return to the menu, and not play the next movie. This is the part I can't achieve. The answer must be simple, but for the life of me I can't figure it out.
I'd tried setting the track playback action you suggested before I posted the question, but I just can't get the thing to return to the menu after the first movie has played. As far as I can see, I'm doing the right thing, but it won't do what I want it to do.
I think I've spotted a problem when looking at the structure of the authored DVD. There are two movies, "The Wedding" and "The Reception" but the file structure appears like this:
VTS_01_0.VOB (the menu)
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB
It seems the two movies have been merged into one movie with a scripted chapter break between the two.
Doing the same thing with Nero produces this file structure:
VTS_TS.VOB (the menu)
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_02_1.VOB
VTS_02_2.VOB
The two movies are kept separate, and when "The Wedding" ends it returns to the main menu.
It's so frustrating. TMPGEnc is a much better program than Nero, but for some reason I can't get it to perform this one simple task.
It might be possible, but since I don't have a Blu-ray burner, I can't test it. Authoring Works 4 forces you to use a blu-ray writable drive if it detects a blu-ray file structure. If you have one, you might be able to stick a DVD in it instead of a BD disc. I have a feeling it might detect what type of media is in the drive and force you to use a BD disc though.
