TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 BBS [ Sorted by thread creation date ]
having a problem that i can't solve in TAW4.
By capturing a stream from my DV camcorder (SONY MV700) always the first scene is captured in a wrong audio sample rate (32000 Hz). then from the second scene and following everything's fine. Strange thing. What could it be?
I was really interested in TAW4, but the problem is already in the trial version. So I usually use TMPGEnc DVD Author 2.0, because of this bug. even the new updated version (4.0.4.24) couldn't solve the problem.
Would be nice to get an advice.
Greetings

I have had a issue with this application, though it installed alright on "Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit", I kept on getting "cannot find class" errors and was not able to start a new project.
The problem was resulted as some path issue.
If you have this issue on your OS, try installing it to location (C:\Pegasys Inc\"Application_Name"\) using Custom install.
yeah no matter how many times i adjusted the location for the install to be, it would go to the normal place.... which is rather anoying considerin they give you the user the option ...maybe thats anothert bug we have found.
so ig uess either users will need to work with the trail verison of go back to the previous working verison.
shame.
makes you wonder why they dont test these thigns before they go on release, becuase it simply makes them look like fools.
I am trying to create a BDMV - either PAL and NTSC. However, when I add the file to a track, it does not show the "smart rendering" blue icon. Why is that? Is anything of that file non BDMV-compliant?
I convert a Divx movie downloaded from internet with the size of 512x384, in DVD format PAL aspect ratio 4:3.
I get automatic the size 704x576.
When I create menu I get the size 720x576.
Problem:
When I watch the created movie (DVD format)with the DVD player on TV, a part of the image from film I cannot see,is missing by the sides. I watch in parallel from laptop (Divx) and TV (DVD format). I don't want to lose that information, part of the screen after conversion.
Question:
How can I change the resolution or dimension of the output file, format (MPEG2 of DVD in VOB)in such way that I cannot lose dimension on TV screen?
I understand that 4:3 is a limit to my problem, but I expect to be able to make the image smaller, even with black stripe on the side, to fit into the TV screen and I don't know how or if is possible.
The same question apply also for DVD menu.
After you import your movie, in the SOURCE section, you have the Settings of "Track 1"...click it and go to "Video", there you choose Picture ratio in the Aspect ratio : 4:3 .You get 720x576 because in that box you have Aspect ratio : 16:9 selected.Everything you make must change to 4:3, including the menus.
How old is the drive. I have checked on cnet reviews that several people reported not so good usage after about two years or so. (failing drive)
But, try imgburn after the folders are created. (imgburn can burn the folders just like the writer from tmpgenc). It may be the drive doesn't like the writer program that comes with tmpgenc. Imgburn is freeware and it may be able to burn to your dvd's. (Just an idea to see if the drive is actually failing).
i am running win xp 64 bit and had the same problem. try this.
tmpgence states dvd drive not working.
do this
B's Recorder GOLD Service.move bgsvcgen from sys wow and replace
in system.
forgot to say do this as well.
tmpgence states dvd drive not working.
do this
B's Recorder GOLD Service.move bgsvcgen from sys wow and replace
in system.
then go to services and start the B's Recorder GOLD.
Now I'm having the same error message. The instructions to remove and replace doesn't work. It started when I downgraded from the version 4.2.0.24 cause the drive quits reading the dvd's. Can you explain more in detail what a person really needs to do.
I actually found out what the problem is. Since I added a Blu-Ray burner (LG GGW-H20L) which hooks into a SATA controller card thru pci bus (my computer is of the older athlon xp series), the program bgsvcgen.exe which is in the system directory does run and crashes. It gets confused with the ide dvd burners i already have in the computer. Disconnecting the Blu-Ray burner fixed the problem, so it seems that the B's Recorder GOLD Library General Service (bgsvcgen.exe) needs to be updated somehow. I also tried to disconnect the ide burners, but it still wouldn't work.
Meanwhile I'll just write it to disk and use imgburn to burn to the disk.
I may have to really upgrade now and get a computer with a better cpu with motherboard that has SATA capabilites.
Ok, I found out something new. Since I was using VIA SATA chipset controller (pci bus) cards, that did cause a problem with my setup. I purchased a 4 port controller card with 'Silicon Valley Chipset', replaced the VIA SATA controller card and now all my drives show up in the 'B's Gold Recorder' writer which comes with the version 4.0. Everything now works. All three of my drives show up.
I hope this helps everybody. I'll send a email to the techs at Tmpgenc and let them know what I have found.
I have been trying to convert a mkv to dvd format. it one stops everytime at 62%. I don't know why. it is a large file 6gb. I am usint authorworks 4 and the essentials codec pack for windows. any suggestions as to why this one freezes. thanks!
Are there any plans to add support for DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD high resolution audio codecs in the future? Even a transparent "same as source" audio copy from input to output would be nice.
Same here! I was dissapointed to find out the latest version of TVMW5 did not support it either and would love to know if there are plans to support it as I just purchased a new hjigh-def camcorder that records audio in DTS format. Thanks!
I recently upgraded from DVD Author 1.6, a practically prehistoric software by now. Unfortunately Authoring Works seems to ALWAYS re-encode my video, what's the deal here? In 1.6 All it did was a straight MPG-VOB No quality loss. And yes, my video meets DVD specs.
Is your Encoder mode set to "Automatic" in the track settings?
Are you changing the video from NTSC to PAL?
Are you changing the aspect ratio of the video (i.e. 4:3 to 16:9)?
Are you mixing 4:3 and 16:9 clips in the same track?
Any of these things can trigger full rendering.
Does the Smart Rendering icon (blue "SR") show up in the Source stage for your clips?
Hi
to import mkv to Author 4 try to install from http://www.matroska.org/downloads/windows.html this files
Haali Media Splitter & Matroska Splitter it works good. You must also in open window browse *.* files (no supported media)
From 1. version I have big problem whith load Subtitles from a file if i creating DivX format at TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4. Some same file format i import coretly, some NOT.
Try import this, its Czech language with diacritical marks, format *.srt (Code of text file: DOS, Windows CP1250) :
****start
1
00:00:48,549 --> 00:00:50,974
Už se vám tohle někdy stalo?
2
00:01:05,162 --> 00:01:10,218
Ode dneška se na 999 na pohotovost nedovoláte.
3
00:01:10,219 --> 00:01:12,561
A to není to jediné, co se mění...
I just copied and pasted your subtitles into a text document and saved as a .srt file. Text encoded as UTF-8 without BOM. I use Notepad++. You can get it here: http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm
Authoring Works 4 is probably trying to connect with the validation server. Is there is a way to add it to a safe programs list or allow it to connect to the internet?
