I am getting a Source File not found error message when I got to review a simulation prebeting me from seeing the preview of course. It makes no sense as I;m told the background image is not found but it is there and I'm not using a standard one anyway but one of my own pictures.
Did you move the actual image file to another folder after you created your menu? It needs to be in the exact same place or you can try inserting the background image again.
Thanks for reply...well I don't get this, will try and explain. I have in track 1 42 small video clips and track 2 has 38. I found that one clip was linking to my D drive (another hdd) so I moved this to my C drive and still had the same problem but then I converted the file from 720 x 576 DVD mpeg to 1024 x 576 AVI and it was fine
Now with automatic selected for redendering I get the same damn msg again telling me a file is linking to this folder so some element of what ever video clip is linking to the program which I also have on another HDD hence the x86 ref (64bit vista)
Well, I'm guessing all that moving around isn't helping. Here's what you can try: from the Start stage, click on the "Advanced Tools" button at the bottom of the window.
Then, select the "Project file check tool". This will open a new window where you can load your project file.
Once it's loaded, it will list all of the files associated with that project and where TAW4 expects it to be. If the status is "+" then it's OK. If it's "-" then you need to move the file to the location specified in the file name column.
HI, thanks for the info, I have never looked at the advanced tools ok all video files are with a + but the only one and not a video file is a 'background image' which I am not using anyway ?? How do I change to the right path as I don't want the (x86) bit of course :-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4\Template\Background\wp01l.tda4bg
There is also at the top of the list of files the correct path version C:\Program Files (x86)\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4\Template\Background\wp01l.tda4bg so I need to remove the wrong one, how is this done can you tell me ?!
So you've got TAW4 installed on two hard drives? I'm guessing it somehow got mixed up along the way and your project file is referencing the install on the other hard drive.
As far as I know, you can't change the path; you'll have to put the file where it wants it to be.
Another thing you can try is re-doing the menu if it's not too much trouble. Just run the menu wizard again and hopefully all the menu-associated files will reset.
If that doesn't work, then you may just have to redo the whole project from scratch.
Ok I've fixed the problem at last. I should have thought of this before, doh ! All I needed to do was create the path the project was pointing to and copy the wp01l.tda4bg in to the created folder, job done, rgds
I'am trying the trial version before bying it, but I have some troubles during the menu rendering for a DVD :
- clips are HDV videos, imported from my HV20 camcorder with HDV Split
- My DVD projets has 5 tracks
- each track starts and finished with a black image, in order to use the "fade out/in (black)" transition for a fading effect at the begining and the end of the track. So my track structure is : black image -> clip 1 ->... -> clip n -> black image, with a "fade out/in" effects on the first black image, and another one on the clip n.
- I only selected a top menu, with "motions menus" feature
When I want to output the DVD, "TMPGEnc Authoring Works" does not work !! The progress bar stays at 0% on the stage "Preparing the rendering of the Top menu page #1" and the remaining time is 11861:715854:42949699.
In the settings of each track, try this: in the box of "Clip linking" choose "do not link the clips"...it worked for me.
Also, when you finish your project, don´t render...save it, close the program and open it again...them render.Of course it´s a bug.And we are the free pesticide hehehe.
Hi,
I recently purchased and installed TAW4. The writing tool dose not work because B's Recorder is not on my system. Just wondering if there are other applications that can be intergrated to work such as Nero.
I was really shocked to find that the software did not include the writing tool burning engine needed. Anybody know where I can find B's Recorder? I went to there website B.H.A but it only showed update support.
try this cos i had the same problem.
tmpgence states dvd drive not working.
do this
B's Recorder GOLD Service.move bgsvcgen from sys wow and replace
in system.
then go to services and start the B's Recorder GOLD.
now it works fine
Using Works 4 I made a DVD from 39 mpeg2 clips. The rendered vob files play fine in the vlc player with the audio showing up on track 1. Then when I make an iso of the rendered dvd and attempt to play the iso in vlc I have video but no sound until I go to the audio menu and manually select track 2. Windows XP SP3.
I resolved this problem by creating a single mpeg2 file from the vob files and then running the mpeg through the VideoReDo Plus Quickstream Fix. After that I created a DVD and from that another iso. The audio is now as it should be now
My guess would be that it doesn't support .pvr movie files since it's not listed in the specs. Your best bet would be to try an convert it to normal mpeg file first.
I have two audio tracks on one of my videos - is it possible to create a one page menu and have a button to select an audio track? It appears AW4 wants to create a complicated menu structure!
I am new to the HD handycam world and wondered if anyone else has this issue. I have recorded a heap of video clips that I want to make a bluray disc out of. When I add the clips, TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 always does a full render of the m2ts file and the result is never quiet as clear as the original. After closer inspection it appears that my AVCHD files are being converted from H264 to MPEG2 and I can't seen to tell it not to. Does anyone else have this problem and know know how to get around it.
I have a motion menu / background that fades in from black. I have two text buttons overlaid on the menu. I obviously want the text to fade in when the menu does, so that the text isn't sitting there by itself in black before the video fades in.
Using the text effects > fade-in setting, I can get the text to fade in properly - the problem that is arising is that one of the text buttons is automatically selected and highlighted. This text button just appears full opacity in the black, and the fade-in effect does not work on it. I can't find any way to have NO button selected when the menu loads, nor can I find a way to set the "selected" highlight to fade in. The unselected text fades in perfectly.
It's not possible to fade in the highlight. The only solution is to make the highlight completely transparent, but of course, you wouldn't be able to tell what button you're on if you're using a DVD remote.
Professional DVD menus usually render their menu transitions as a separate movie and you can usually see a flicker or stutter when it switches to the actual menu. TAW4 doesn't render the fade-ins as a separate movie file, so the highlights will always be present unfortunately.
I am trying to get a m2t stream from a project to tape so I have a backup. But, so far the stream I have been able to make and put on tape has a blank data code, meaning no date or time. So, if I use s/w to try and bring the video back in with scene detect, since all the files has blank data codes, I get 1 huge file, instead of the original files I put on tape.
So, can I make a M2T stream with data code in the stream, just like a camcorder tape has?
many time i try to authoring blu ray disc when i start rendering the project i get same problem ( not enough storage is available to complete this operation error code 0x8007000e , some time i had this not after rendring 30% or 50 % 65% thierfor my pc system is : processor amd phenon 9750 quad-core processor 2.41ghz - 8 gb ram 64 bit vista oprating system - 1000 gb hd - 500 gb hd for system - display card nvidia geforce 8600gt display monotor asus vw 222. so i want puy this program but i not shoe now about this proplem , is thier any soultion for it
i try everything i can to solve this problem and i red the help instructions step by step .
I am having exactly the same problem right down to the error code. I am also running an AMD Quad Core. I have 4GB of RAM of in excess of 500GB of free disc space. Exactly the same source footage works fine with authoring a DVD video. The problem only occurs when authoring a Bluray Disc.
This prog is very buggy it is far too heavy on resources for HD authoring, like it was writtain for a pc which needs to be 20 times faster than a quad core, shame because all other tmpgenc products work very well
think about it, you are tryign to process lots of titles, pages buttons etc, and the software relies on the memory you have installed to remmber what it needs to process, and whilst its doing this the memory is getting lower and lower becuase its like a hard drive, the mor data you add into the free space you had, the hard drive space gets smaller and smaller, and then when you get to a certain stage and the software still needs a certain amount as a temp file which is exactly what the memory is storing, it will give you a warnign sayign low space and advices you to free space up.
heck it happens to me if i go and extract over 50 rar'd files, encod full HD videos etc all at the same time, or during a string of tasks, the memory gets lower and ive got 6gb's of memory yet i can get to a point where i have only 300mb of memory left.... and its all becuase the temp storage if being used in the memory.
so depending on what you are tryignt o achive, and what your specs are on your system i woiuld upgrade your memory to the most you can do.
hi , thank's for ur replay
in fact i had 8 gb ram plus quad cbu and 2 hd drive 1000 gb each ??? and u say get more rams and space ???
this problem happend only when i have mkv file 1920 x 1040 or 1420 x 840 as a source , when i try the m2ts 1920 x 1080 file it's worked fine and finshed through 30 min !!!! so i think the problem in reconverting the source file to blu ray ( m2ts ) ?? pls anybady have a soultion .......
thanks
If you are creating motion menus, every page that displays those menus opens an instance of the codecs for audio and video. When you display the menu page and it has 8 pages of 8 chapters per page, then Works tries to bring up 64 instances of the codecs needed to "play" that motion menu and its motion chapters. This is also the requirement during the building and processing of your final DVD or Blu-RAY movie. Open Task Manager and select Performance. You can watch both your physical memory and pagefile memory get consumed during the DVD or Blu-ray build. Mine seems to crash at 2.06 gigs which conflicts with the amount of memory resources I have available.
I have 4 gigs physical memory and 6 gigs pagefile. Whenever I try to create a Blu-ray movie with motion menus and chapters and pop-up menus, it blows up and claims not enough resources to complete the process. You might want to make sure your temporary file processes have sufficient hard drive space to store those temporary files.
Do not use this option if you do not have enough memory since it may eventually slow down the process. Disable this option in case a memory error occurs during the output.
I found that if you extract the audio first with Any Video Converter (freeware) which should change to a mpg file. Then use the author 4.0 works... does that help? ( I had the same problem since there was no audio .)
