You may have been duped. I'm betting it wasn't sold directly through Amazon, but through a seller?
You can try contacting support, but I'm not sure if you'll be able to get a working serial number since this product has been discontinued for a while now.
When i start up the programme, it verifys the license, then carrys on loading, then i get this message every time 'At address 000A1135, read error occurred against address 000A1135'
Downloaded and installed the latest beta 0.6.?. Loved the previous beta. Now Vista SP2 won't run Karma - keeps complaining on DEP forced closing.
Any plans on developing a DEP friendly application?
Just venting.
Thanks.
Bob
Ok, call me a dummy. Found the problem with the DEP error and closing the video application - somehow I received an outdate codec. Don't know where, how, or why (might have been when installing this Karma app since I didn't have the problem before), but the fix is pretty simple - do an internet search for VISTA VIDEO CODECS and Shark007 has one that when installed fixes this problem.
Karma now works slick as always <g>. Thanks.

I just redid my computer and reinstalled TMPG 4.0 Xpress. It works fine however when I start up the program Windows changes the color scheme to Windows Vista Basic when I usually have the setting on Aero. This never happened before. Any ideas as to what is causing this? Dvd Author does the same thing. TIA
Hi - some imported mpg files are not producing any sound in the preview window. They do however play in othe TMPGenc programs like TMPGenc so I'm wondering why this is so. Any ideas? Thanks
I have some AVCHD files and want to convert to DVD MPEG2 files and burn and played on home DVD player, the source AVCHD mts file is dolby 5.1 channels, but no dolby 5.1 audio type in MPEG2 file audio setting page, does TMPGEnc support AC-3 5.1 at this time? thanks.
The spurs engine cards is really only benefitial to those who dont have a quad core CPu's PC ie: i have a dual core AMD 3.2Gz and the spurs card encodes quicker than my CPU can. i was going to upgrade my system to a quad core CPU but since i dont use it for gaming (mostly video work) this was a cheaper alternative that increase 'my' speeds quite well, usually ~70% faster. Since the spurs card is a 'quad core' video encoding cpu on a pci card pretty much, i dont know why you bothered either. Since you already had one in your system. you should sell it.
actually, I moved it to a machine with a Q8200....but I can't tell if it works, because I seem to have maxed out my TMPGENC4 serial number. Tech support it taking there time telling me how to fix it.
of which ive already stated my annoyance to them about this, and their daft answering idiots saying that they are unable to change this.
odd really, there able to code software to do encoding and create templates, yet somehow down the line they are unable to adjust the code within the software and templates to enable the user to change what they want.
its as if either their being dumb... they are dumb. or think we are dumb.
and were the ones paying for the software and yet arent allowed the freedom .
In the video settings I can not set the output framerate to 50 when making DVD from video in 1280x720 50fps progressive resolution. Is this a bug? The output video is very jittery.

I presented a detailed desription of the issue support and was recently emailed that they are working on a fix in process to be released soon. Thought the track setup was ok. It is a mess.

24 NTSC...24 does not work well for NTSC where the frame rate is 29.97 or 59.94 fps...23.976 is preferred. 24 fps is used with 1920x1080P but some find 23.976 better also.

1280 x 720P is a progressive scan high definition format.
25 fps applies to mpeg standard definition (not HD) dvd formats
The following formats are allowed for MPEG-2 video:
At 25 frame/s (usually used in regions with 50 Hz image scanning frequency, where PAL is standard for analog television):
720 × 576 pixels MPEG-2 (Called full D1)
704 × 576 pixels MPEG-2
352 × 576 pixels MPEG-2 (Called Half-D1, same as the China Video Disc standard)
352 × 288 pixels MPEG-2
At 29.97 or 23.976 frame/s (usually used in regions with 60 Hz image scanning frequency, where NTSC is standard for analog television):
720 × 480 pixels MPEG-2 (Called full D1)
704 × 480 pixels MPEG-2
352 × 480 pixels MPEG-2 (Called Half-D1, same as the China Video Disc standard)
352 × 240 pixels MPEG-2
It's not entirely clear if the OP is trying to output as a DVD (which is how I read it) or if he is trying to output as 1280x720p/50fps and is simply misusing the DVD term.
