any one know where i can download movies that are in the theaters? If it's any consolation I will use tmpgenc to encode the downloads<------------for tmpgenc police :)
Thanks guys!
I use KaZaA Lite, it's very user freindly-but make sure you get the lite version because the Full version is full of spyware.
Try www.oldversion.com for the download.

I get everything i need by using WinMx (peer2peer sharing)
They have just about everything you could imagine available
just do a search for WinMx (you need the client software to use it)
Best on broadband or better

Every time I try to encode an avi-file for DVD (both NTSC and PAL) the program and computer hangs after 1 or 2% of encoding. Only one movie had good luck in being encoded.
I tried several settings from tutorials and it doesn't seem to work.
What can be the problem, or what am I doing wrong.
You can convert Ati vcr -files to mp2-files adding them (drag and drop) to Ati Library, right-clicking it, and choosing conversion.
Unfortunately, all vcr-files won't be added to Library, at least for me...
Mp2- (also known as m2v-) files can be edited or converted to desired format (for example) by FlasKMPEG.
i have been using this program for a long time it works so well b4...but after i reformat my pc and reinstall the tmpgenc plus 2.5 again...whenver i try to open it..the main window will just pop out a sec then close..i try to reinstall again but still have the same problem..sometimes it is when i put a file to convert..it will pop out automatically too...i can use it at all now...anyone can tell me how to fix it? thx a lot
btw...i did try to delete the tmpgenc.ini file from the folder too...it can open and place a file it..but when i start to do the encoding..it will auto off still...what can i do then? thx
Quite often when encoding Xvid to MPEG2 ... TMPGENc Xpress dies (application closes) with no errors ? This happens intermittently, sometimes the encode completes and sometimes the application dies (encoding the same file). I can't find anything relevant in the WinXP Event viewer.
Anyone know what could cause this ?
I am trying to figure out how to put 3 movies onto 1 DVD+R using the XDVD feature in TMPGEnc Express. Has anyone used this yet? If so, how is the image quality, and do you know if it would be compatable with my Sony DVP-NS575P Precision Drive 3 DVD player? It claims that you can put 10 hours of video on 1 DVD. I would like to put all 3 lord of the rings movies together. Thanks!!!
Ive got some films i want to put on dvd mnv & avi so as i can burn them on nero and the play them on my dvd player is this the correct softwear to use to enable me to do this????????????????
I have burned several episodes on a dvd, and it seems everytime I always get errors playing the last episode. But, it's not just that particular episode, if I burned a completely different set of episodes, then the last one would still be having problems. All the other ones play fine. They are all originally .avis but I encoded them with TMPG, then used TMPG DVD Author to output them into a folder than use Nero to burn. I have no idea what could be the problem, I was thinking maybe to encode them using the Highest Quality, I'm using Normal right now, but I'm not sure if the encoding is the problem, and don't want to waste the extra time encoding and waste a disc.
Hang on..more details are required...what exactly is the problem?
Are you experiencing this problem with the actual MPEGs on your Hard drive or do the problems only occur after burning to DVD.
It sounds to me liky you are simply using cheapo disks.
It seems the last thing to play on the disc always ends up buggy. Just to experiment, I put several copies of the same episode on a disc, they all play fine except for the last one. I'm using TDK DVD+R discs.
TDK are usually pretty good disks, but you may simply have a bad batch.
The problem you have is usually symptomatic of cheap disks, where errors usually appear at the vey end of the disk.
Deos this problem happen on the DVD player only or on the PC also?
Try burning at a lower speed. If that doesn't work change your burning program, I recomend NERO for DVD's.
If you still get no joy then I would go out and buy some RITEK GO4's. These disks are just about the best and most compatible you can get.
If these don't work then it likely your burner or DVD player is at fault.
Which burner and player do you have?
