Question - TE25 - i only want the audio but when i go to change stream type ... No.27004
David  2002-08-24 19:56:53 ( ID:neebpadjdfa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

how do i use this program to capture just the audio? when i go to change the stream type i get a very scarey message ...

"You are about to unlock the limitation. If you unlock this file it would be out of standard. User must agree to this by his/her own risk. noone would help for any results ariing from an unlocked setting."

can anyone provide me with a way to use TMPG to acquire just the audio? also what's the difference between "system (audio only)" and "audio only"?

david

Minion  2002-08-24 22:07:55 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have never heard of that message before, you should be able to just get the audio from a file in 2 different ways, you can load the video file into Tmpgenc then choose the "audio only" or the "system audio only" then encode and you will get an "mp2" file with the "audio only" setting and you will get a "mpg" file with just audio no video if you choose the "system audio" setting .The other way is to load your file into Tmpgenc then go to "file" to "output to Wav" then tmpgenc will extract the audio to a Wav file..Tmpgenc will have problems in most cases encodeing compressed audio sources to "mp2" audio so it is allways good to use wav as your audio format.......

Remember that you said you would need expensive high tech equipment to watch the video in full screen by zooming and not stretching. I search google for some good key words and i found this thing called the Full-screen video render. It said it would play video in full screen without the distortion of maximizing the screen. I had no idea what the rest meant or how to get it but i figured youd be smart enough to know. Search google for full-screen video renderer, read up on it and if it is good let me know. It could also be useful to you. I just wonder if the same thing would happen when you burn it to a disc.

thanks

Hi, I read a guide on the "full screen video renderer" and it a developement tool for writeing programs in c++ to play video files,In the implementation of this filter it allows you to zoom in on certain areas of your screen and make then full screen with out much didtortion ,but it only works properly of you monitor is set on the highest resolution and if you have a very good video display card on you computer, the video quality is mostly dependant on the resolution of your computer screen and video card..This isn"t a tool for regular poeple to use, it is for programers who are developing Software applications for displaying video...It"s pretty complicated stuff and i didn"t understand most of it..but you should be able to get similar results allready if you set you monitor to the highest resolution and you movie that you want to enlarge has a very high resolution...

WHAT ARE YOU DOING????? you are Doing this ALL WRONG!!!! I don"t know who told you that this is how to make a VCD but if you find him Punch Him Out!!Why are you encodeing to Mpeg2 with Tmpgenc then useing Nero to encode to VCD????You just encode to VCD in Tmpgenc then Just burn it to a CD-R with Nero, never use Nero to Encode!! It is a terroble Mpeg encoder!!Plus you loose lots of quality encodeing To Svcd then To VCD and it takes twice as long..First you need to extract the audio from your Divx file to Wav Format with "Virtual Dub" then load your Divx file into Tmpgenc then load in the Wav audio in for the audio then click the "Load" tab and look for the "VCD NTSC" template if you live in North America or load in the "VCD-Pal" template if you live in Europe, then just click the "start" tab and you will start encodeing , when it is done if the file is over 795mb you will need to split in half with the "Mpeg Tools" then you just load the file into "Nero" and burn it as a VCD, and if Nero gives you an error for some reason just burn it anyway cuz there shouldn"t be anything wrong with it if you do it this way...if you want more information on makeing VCD"s or SVCD"s go to "www.vcdhelp.com".....Good luck

i made a mpg file and i have mp2 file try to mux it in tmpgenc

but that doesnt work i get error illigal mpeg audio stream

how to fixxxxx

Minion  2002-08-25 08:09:38 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Maybe there is a problem with the header on the mp2 audio file, or try a different Multiplexor like the one in BBMpeg?

wcpaul  2002-08-26 20:42:13 ( ID:1wzhhdq6zqn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Could be a Directshow filter problem.

When an ATIVcr filter is active on my system, all of the MPEG tools give that error. When that dll file disabled, a Ulead filter takes over and works fine. Ligos and Etymonix also work.

David  2002-08-24 10:01:54 ( ID:aqupd4439qk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am trying to run TMPGEnc to encode to MPEG2 from Premiere 6 via Avisynth. I had to reinstall TMPGEnc when I rebuilt my computer and now I get this error message "Can't load P3Package.dll" when I click start encoding. Never a problem before, what is this message and how do I fix this?

Olli  2002-08-24 13:55:34 ( ID:dazey0v8lbg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi David

This is a common question and has been answered many times before.
If you type P3Package.dll in the search box at the top you will get a number of replies on how to fix this

smiles305  2002-08-24 04:04:28 ( ID:ghvttwecibn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i have used virtuldub and now have wav files but it still doesnt seem to be in sync with the movie and i have tried to change the movie from pal to ntsc and still have nothing please help......... :o('''''

Minion  2002-08-24 07:11:24 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It is probably out of sync Because you are encodeing a Pal movie to NTSC.....

smiles305  2002-08-24 14:05:57 ( ID:ghvttwecibn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

.......but i have tried both ways.....i've encoded a few minutes and then watch it and it is still out of sync

Minion  2002-08-24 22:29:12 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If the file is the same amount out of sync the whole way through the file and you have allready encoded it to mpeg then you can use a program like "Mpeg2vcr" it has a multiplexor that lets you off set the audio to sync up the video to the audio......

smiles305  2002-08-25 05:09:23 ( ID:ghvttwecibn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

thank you very much

Minion  2002-08-25 08:15:43 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

and another thing don"t use "Media player" to play mpeg files cuz certain combinations of codecs can cause "media player" to play mpeg files out of sync....

Question - TE25 - Can't open MS DV file No.26980
Oscar  2002-08-24 03:14:49 ( ID:hxrzodhw/kw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TMPGenc 2.55 Plus. Premiere 6.02. WinXP Pro. U.S. NTSC
Just upgraded P4 1.3GHz Dell 8100 to XP Pro. Installed all XP updates. Installed TMPGenc Plus and Premiere. Open a project in Premiere and export as standard MS DV 48KHz to .avi

TMPGenc says "can not open or unsupported" Can play file in WinMedia just fine. Although I mostly used Avisynth before XP upgrade, I believe I could still directly read DV file into TMPGenc.

Any help appreciated.

Oscar

Minion  2002-08-24 07:10:01 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You Probably need to raise The "AVI VFW File reader" or the "Open DML File Reader" in the vfapi plugins. But if you raise one of them disable the other...

Oscar  2002-08-24 16:21:41 ( ID:hxrzodhw/kw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Guess I know even less than I thought.... Is there a post or instructions for doing this. Probably simple, but not sure where to start to do this.

The dumb guy.

Oscar  2002-08-24 16:32:27 ( ID:hxrzodhw/kw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

OK. Found it in Environmental settings. Raised priority of each one clear up to 1 while disabling the other (they both started at -2). No combination allows me to open the MS DV .avi file.

Minion  2002-08-24 22:50:36 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

That is strange ,I know Tmpgenc does not support either type 1 or type 2 dvd formats but I"m not sure which one...You can try to see if you can load it into Virtual Dub and frame serve it to Tmpgenc..And one last thing you can try is to raise the "Direct Show" file reader in the "vfapi plugins" to "2" this works for most avi formats but not sure about DV....

Oscar  2002-08-24 23:22:43 ( ID:sjjhxoxuuog )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

That did it. Directshow at 2. Thanks!

Another quick one:
Had been using Avisynth to frame serve prior to loading Windows XP Pro on this machine. You mentioned using VirtualDub to frame serve. Is VirtualDub a bit better or easier to use than Avisynth? Or are they about the same deal...

Minion  2002-08-25 07:46:30 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Virtual dub is easier to use cuz you don"t need to Type out Scripts, you just have to install the v-dub frame server...I don"t use Virtual dub to frame serve I use the Vfapi converter and tmpgenc to frame serve to CCE which works great...

Question - TE25 - 2 questions No.26977
homer simpson  2002-08-24 02:13:38 ( ID:wgcxb6yag/c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

First question

I have some videos that are just over 800mb they are like 820mb. Its annoying when i have to put the ending on a second disc for so little space. Do they make cdr's bigger than 800 mb. If they do where can i get them?

Second question

I was watching the x games recently and saw how they would freeze the picture then zoom in on a small portion of the screen to make it full screen. The zoomed picture had perfect quality. When i play videos on the computer they are in a small portion of the screen but when they are enlarged the video quality gets worse. I thought why cant i make that original size video play full screen by zooming in without stretching the video out and distorting the image. is there any program that allows you to play in full screen without stretching the picture out???????? Please help!!!!!!!
thanks in advance

Minion  2002-08-24 07:07:42 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If you have $100,000.00 to spend on High tech video hardware then you can Zoom in and have good quality but You are out of luck if you want a little freeware utility to do this for you...There are 900mb CD-R"s but I do not have an idea were they can be found and they are supposed to be much more expensive and I have heard of some compatibility issues with some burners and players, what I do when i encode a movie and it is a bit to big to fit on a CD-R I just encode the file again till I get it right, which can suck if it take 10 hours to encode a 2 hour movie but for me it only takes about 3 hours so it isn"t a big deal ,i can encode 3 movies while I"m sleeping.......

homer simpson  2002-08-24 16:10:17 ( ID:wgcxb6yag/c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

this vcd stuff is pissing me off i spend so much time making them. If i just got a summer job and worked during that time i could just buy the videos i made and save a little time even.

POP  2002-08-24 16:55:20 ( ID:d4a5wuxiwpr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Why don't you try both of them with short file such as just 1 or 2 min
file?
I think it is best way to learn it.

Question - TE25 - How to use source range to divide the film!! No.26970
Bella  2002-08-23 20:48:30 ( ID:g2ju.idwhkj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

wel, i need to divide the film in 3 parts and dunno how to use the source range. i need ur help!

M.Bastian  2002-08-23 22:06:33 ( ID:lh1udvptj1c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Its simple. Double click on it and you will come into an Window where you can set/change the start and ending part of the stream with both sliders and number of the frame.

Its just me but usually I split my projects with bbmpeg after the encoding.
Imho its much less fuss when you want to convert the audio stream(s) with an external programm like headac3he. The quality of the audio encoding part of tmpgenc is not good anyway.

Normaly I let smartripper separate video and audio streams then I make an project with DVD2AVI. The resulting audio/video streams will be muxed and cutted in bbmpeg.

Happy Weekend

M. Bastian

Free talk - TE25 - Nova-t Digital TV Card No.26967
willyiam  2002-08-23 17:24:40 ( ID:nsbkh5almbg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Several weeks ago Griff made reference to the super high quality obtained from the Nova-t Card. Well, his comments didn't go un-noticed by me. I immediately bought the bundle and set it up on one of my machines.

To say that I was Gob-Smacked by the quality of the recorded TV programs would be an understatement. They are superb. Pure DVD quality.

The quality is retained even after burning to DVD-R via Ulead's DVD Workshop.

If you get to read this post, Griff, thank's a bunch. A really brilliant piece of kit.

Hey, how does that card work and exactly what does it do. What movies can you use it on? Also where can you get one and how much is it?

thnx
