Ok, I've got a small problem which pisses me off... I'm trying to burn my divX movie, which I watched w/ realplayer, to a CD, and I've downloaded all the files required @ http://www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm and the problem seems to be in TMPGenc. When I'm trying to convert the divX to mpeg it records it for about 10 seconds and then gives me this error: "Read error occured at address 0047D7E4 of module 'TMPGEnc.exe' with B3AE07AE." and stops converting, though it doesn't shut down the program.
U guys know what to do?
Thanks,
Eku
after erasing and reinstalling Win98 the following problem occurs with TMPEGenc 2.2 and 2.5 too:
I load the converted MPEG-1 file (an old file, converted in times, when all was working, shows the same behavior) in 'Cut and Merge' and doubleclick on it. If the converted file is based on DivX4 I sometimes get the message, that the file is unsupported; if it is based on DivX5, it's loaded, but when I click, for example, on the start playing symbol, I've a black screen and no sound. When I stopp, then I can sometimes see one (the last?) frame. No cut or merge is possible. After this TMPEGenc is frozen.
Does anyone know this? By the way, DivX4 couldn't be installed in the totally new Win98 because of an error message while DivX4-installation. DivX5 installation succeeds, and Microsoft MPEG-4 Codec brings the system to stop on booting windows.
Thanks for all, who thought about this problem. I found the solution by myself. I deinstalled the MS-mediaplayer and a DVD-Player at the same time, after this all was ok. My mediaplyer now is a very old versioon of the MS-mediaplayer and does it's job
I just purchased the license for TMPGE Plus. The trial version worked great so i thought it was the right thing to do. Now though I'm up against a critical deadline and I find I can't use the program. It opens up fine and seems to take all the information/adjustments I put in, but when I go to render I get (every time I try) the following error message: "00402F40 of module 'TMPGEnc.exe with 47455049"
I've reinstalled the software numerous times to no avail (interestingly it never again asked for my serial number).
I put in my inquiry to Pegasys support but got back a message saying it'll be 8-10 days (!) before I get a response back. I've got a project that needs to be done by Tuesday. Has anyone else run into this problem? How do I correct it?
When i convert my vob files with dvd2avi and the progect created is a d2v file but i cant load the video source it says the it does not support it
what can i do to solve problem
please help!!!
Raise the priority of your "dvd2avi" plugin, to do this go to "options" to "enviromental settings" then to "vfapi plugins" and raise the "dvd2avi" plugin to "2"...But there are othere things that will give you this error like you erased or mooved one or more of your vob files, or you changed the name or deleted a file in the path between "dvd2avi" and "tmpgenc".. you cant get rid of or moove any of the d2v files or vob files untill you have finished encodeing.
I new to converting Avi's to Mpg's so hopefully this will be easy for someone to answer.
I have converted a few DIX avi files into MPG and they have worked fine (after splitting the sound from the AVI first). However all of the MPG's start to change slightly red during any part of the film, it then reverts when the camera angle then changes. The redness is graduail and gets progressivly worse, and seems to be reset after each camera angle change. The source file has no traces of redness.
cause i use virtualdub to save the audio in a .wav file and then encode the movie to .mpg .. if i dont do that the file gets double the video-frames it had b4...
I used to capture with virtualdub in DivX and sound uncompressed to 44000Khz stereo. So the soundpart of the file is'nt that big. And this capture-file can be converted without seperating sound and audio in tmpegenc.

I have captured video from DVD in MPEG2 format.
In order to extract the audio from MPEG2 and save the audio in .WAV format, I use TMPGEnc and it works fine BUT I have to open MPEG2 files one at a time and then extract the audio. Is there any Batch file that can extract the audio automatically from the MPEG2 files.
Yes it's possible with TMPG, but out of curiosity why are you extracting the audio to a wav file?
Anyway to acheive what you ask.
First set up the file you wish to extract the wav from then click FILE>ADD CURRENT PROJECT TO BATCH LIST then choose WAVE FILE from the menu. Choose where you want to output the file then the batch list box will pop up and should have your project listed.
Close the box down and repeat the above steps with all the MPEGs you wish to extract the wavs from.
Then when your done click FILE>BATCH ENCODE then click the RUN button and all your wavs will be extracted in the sequence of the batch list.
Ok I understand that you want to convert your Mp2 to Mp3, but still can't see a point in that as there won't be any increase in sound quality, but it will probably drop the quality and will make your MPEG incompatible with most DVD players.
Anyhow that's up to you.
Now your other point of not having a program to convert mp2 to mp3.
You should try looking under your nose.
TMPG is quite capable of converting mp2 files to mp3, just follow these instuctions.
3. In the box that pops up and assuming you are using TMPGenc 2.54, you will see a button titled 'Setting' where the audio field is.
If your using an earlier version you can just about see the edge of this button on the far right.
Click this button then choose the mp3 codec and bitrate you require.
4. Choose a file name and give it an .mp3 extension.
5. Now click 'Save' and your file will be created.
You can now use this feature to Batch convert all your MPEG2 audio files to mp3 just the same as I explained how to do it with wavs.
As an alternative just download Dbpoweramp. This program converts any format to any format including mp2 audio and does batch encoding too.
In my opinion this is the best audio converter there is as it uses all the best codecs and is free. http://www.dbpoweramp.com

No idear, but why did you split the sound before converting. That seems to me more complicated than it should be. Try to convert the complete file, it should work.

Andre, Tried converting the file complete before, the sound starts fine but gets out of sync within a few mins. The sound ends about 30mins before the end of the movie.
ASHY, Yes, I have just checked the last few, they are all using Angel potion codec, does this matter??

Minion is right that's your problem.
Get rid of the codec on your system.
You should be able to open the file with the DIVX codec. Try 4.12 if not install 3.11 and if non of them work open the file in Virtualdub and re-encode it to a Divx file.
Have encoded quite a few avi files now, but no matter which template I use or bitrate, panning/sweeping shots in the final mpg stutter slightly. Not too much, but enough to spoil viewing pleasure after a bit. It may well be that the whole film stutters, but i notice it most during panning. Any suggestions?
Most of my movies do the same thing at some point in the movie,and have tried every setting and many other encoders and come to the conclution that it is my dvd player because when i play them on my friends really expensive player they play excelently.......
We are seeing similar stuttering in our MPEG-2 output, whether we play it in Elecard on our 1.8Ghz Dell or burn it to a Pioneer DVD-RW and play it in a very nice JVC DVD player. Has anyone else found and conquered this problem? Our original source file is a QT exported from a Mac-based Avid Media Composer, Meridien board set, using the Avid QT codec. The source material going into the Avid is NTSC Digibeta but the camera originals were shot on both 24fps film and 24P Hi-Def 16x9 video, so any thoughts on dealing with the 3:2 issue would also be appreciated.
TMPGEnc is very good. How does TMPGEnc do in DVD format, though, using the newly released DVD+RW/+R/CD rewriter (not the older +RWs, only)? How does TMPGEnc do DVD format:
* Video quality? Settings?
* Audio synch/quality? How best?
* Compatibility with DVD players? Tell us, please.
* Tips (DVD)? How best?
* Skip the TMPGEnc-step to AVI and encode directly to MPEG2-DVD?
* Encoding time? Modified encoding settings?
* Heat problems?
* Capacity (# of 35-minute movies on one 4.7gb disk?) How best?
* +RW vs +R? (a 5-pack of +R are now at $20, lower in the near future)
* Menu(s)? How best?
* Editing software, burning software... recommendations? How best?
* Other considerations, please.
Please post your TMPGEnc DVD info HERE. Thanks, for others to view and consider. Thank you.
