I have TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5.0.5.32
When I use the Divx with the Advanced Acoustic MP3 Encoder,
the picture turns out great, but the sound quality is terrible.
I can barely hear the sound.
I see no way to adjust the sound in the format mode.
In format mode if I choose Divx, it does give me a choice to audio encoders.
Can anyone tell me if and how to fix this problem?
Thank you
Hi guys, any way of deleting the crappy menu thumbnails. I simply want to create full screen motion menu looping which I can do easily but I wish to have no thumbnails at all< I simply want to put in two seperate text words that are buttons, seems near impossible to create anything, please tell me the taw 4 is not for 2 year olds now. I import my timeline and then i create custom menu. I dont want anything on menu other than a couple of buttons which link to the start of the timeline and another that links to the timeline about 7 minutes in. Any help please. Rob
In the custom menu wizard, just choose text options for your top and track menus instead of those with thumbnails. I think all the layouts that end in "(D)" are text only layouts. http://i56.tinypic.com/1255c1w.png
Sounds like you should do Track menu only and make chapter points for the beginning and 7 minute mark of your video.
You can't overlay an image over a video in this program; what you can do is cut/transition to the jpg and then cut/transition back to your video. You would need to split your video clip where you want the jpg to appear. Splitting the clip will result in two clips. Next, import the jpg as its own clip and then move it between your split clips. You can then add a transition effect if you wish.
Overlaying videos/images over other videos/images is currently only possible in TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5.
I've selected the movies that I want to put on a DVD & then I go to menu making. What I want is that when I put my DVD in the player, that it goes to the menu and not start playing the first movie automatically. I made my menu up and it shows the menu just like I want it to be. But when I put the DVD in the player, it does show the menu, but goes right into the first move. If I go into the DVD player menu and pick title, it goes to the menu that I want to show up when I insert DVD. I've been fighting this for a more than few hours now & getting tired of restarting this process over & over. Thank you for any help.
If using the Menu Wizard, template mode, it's the third screen ("DVD-Video playback settings"). There is a box titled "Disc insertion action". Choose "Display the top menu".
If you're creating a custom menu, it's the fourth screen.
If you've already created a menu, in the Menu Stage's main window, click on the "DVD-Video global menu settings" button in upper left corner. The disc insertion action setting is at the bottom of the settings window that will appear.
There are many popups in tmpgenc that cannot be disabled. Please add option to for every popup to be disabled.
Examples:
Closing main applications always asks:
"Project is not saved. Save?"
Removing clip from "edit" tab asks:
"You are about to delete clip. Are you sure?"
Removing job from batch window asks:
"Removes the selected batch processing. Do you want?"
For people who use your program often, it's very very annoying having to click on these popups all the time. Please add checkbox option to each box to not ask again.
TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 seems to have a memory leak in that the longer it runs on Windows-7 64-bit the more Windows handles it consumes growing without bounds.
Is this a recognized issue by Pegasys and secondly, if it is are then plans to release a patch?
If not, how can I get my TMPGEnc v4 license re-enabled as t his version did not exhibit the problem.
No major drama - finally found the answer in DVD-Videoglobal menu settings under Item Display. Only wanted to put in a "To be continued on Disc 2" notation on screen.
For "formats" there is option to save custom template profile. The problem is that there should be an option for video resolution and video framerate to use original video specification.
A user may want to save other settings but keep original resolution and frame rate for conversion. The way it is right now, if user selects custom saved profile, they have to manually set resolution every time.
The built in templates such as "mpeg file output" or "avi file output" already have this feature and will use original resolution. Please add option so that save custom templates also have that feature.
Is there any way that I can enter a custom FPS in video encoding section. I have a video file which is 27 FPS and there no selection available for 27 FPS under any codec. Selecting any other FPS will causes audio video sync.
I have today tried to update my TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 to Version: 3.4.0.151. This resulted in an error of
Error 1402. Could not open key:

I have tried turning off UAC and running the update. I have also tried system restore but the previous version 3.2.0.127 was broken. I then uninstalled this version and tried to install 3.2.0.127 but got the same error 1402. I am running Vista 64 bit with all updates.
Yes, that's the version I have.
Apparently the update doesn't do me any good, I tried to install WORKS 3.1.2.176 instead, and it's working just fine!
Is it still possible to buy this version?
There is a possibility that your drive isn't supported. I can't find that model on the official Sony Optiarc website, so if you want to update the firmware/drivers, you'll probably be able to find it through your computer maker's website (HP, Dell, etc.). Your drive is probably an OEM model so going through the computer's maker is probably the best way to get the proper drivers/firmware.
If updating the drivers/firmware doesn't work, then you may have to try an older version of Authoring Works 4. You'll need version 4.0.12.42 or below; those versions use the same writing driver as version 3 I think.

Right-click "My Computer", select Properties-->Hardware tab-->Device Manager.
Expand "DVD/CD-ROM drives" to see the make and model.
