I use TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 (3.1.2.176) and then when I work as convert 4 avi to DVD, my CPU usages 100% always and when it's working for a little, my computer restart or hang or crash (something like this) so......
1. Can TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 settings to use low CPU usage?
2. If no.1 can't, TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 can do?
3. How to set it up to use lower 100% CPU usage?

I've ever use this software without problem but all I said happen since Dec 4, 2008 without any warnings........help me please coz I have to use for my job
While it's running, access the Window Task Manager (ctrl+alt+del), go to Processes > right-click TMPGEncDVDAuthor3.exe > set Priority > whatever you want.
I have a motion menu / background that fades in from black. I have two text buttons overlaid on the menu. I obviously want the text to fade in when the menu does, so that the text isn't sitting there by itself in black before the video fades in.
Using the text effects > fade-in setting, I can get the text to fade in properly - the problem that is arising is that one of the text buttons is automatically selected and highlighted. This text button just appears full opacity in the black, and the fade-in effect does not work on it. I can't find any way to have NO button selected when the menu loads, nor can I find a way to set the "selected" highlight to fade in. The unselected text fades in perfectly.
It's not possible to fade in the highlight. The only solution is to make the highlight completely transparent, but of course, you wouldn't be able to tell what button you're on if you're using a DVD remote.
Professional DVD menus usually render their menu transitions as a separate movie and you can usually see a flicker or stutter when it switches to the actual menu. TAW4 doesn't render the fade-ins as a separate movie file, so the highlights will always be present unfortunately.
Hi again.
I think We all the customers desire AC3 multichannel output. It's a big incongruity that a commercial video editting app. (with such a power and capacity of quality and conversion between the most state-of-the-art media formats) doesn't support the BASIC thing that multichannel is nowadays.
Waiting too long now....
Even the most basic converters out there support this , even nero for the last god knows how many years , it is a bout time we can convert with 5.1 ac or dolby digital as this is not exactly a cheap piece of software!
Not sure if you are referencing AC3out put in an M4V h.264, but I am looking for the same thing. Since the Apple TV can now accept AC3 passthrough it would be nice if I could use this software to create an M4V file and keep the AC3 as the second audio track. You still have to keep a PCM track as the first track but adding AC3 would be GREAT.
The software is great, but the fact that is not capable of outputting multichannel 5.1 dolby digital is too bad.
From the user guide, it seems that this should work as there is the option to select dolby digital multichannel in the MPEG settings, however this option is not available when recoding to a different format from the source.
Hi.
I have a strange bug. When I try to convert 23.976 fps matroska files from to any other format, such mp4 or mpg at original fps (23.976), I get files that play approx. at 20 or 18 fps, in spite of every info applications report 23.976. The problem lasts about 8-9 minutes, and then the files play little by little the correct fps. I tried Windows Vista and XP, with different codec packs and different machines, and it's always the same since TMPGEncXpress last or the previous update.
Any solution or answer to my problem? If it's a bug, please Fix it!!! :)
I also had the same problem and I do not know, whwter it is a bug or not. For myself the following workaround solved the problem: Set the input frame rate to 24fps instead of 23.976. Please let me know, if in you case also worked.
I am trying to get a m2t stream from a project to tape so I have a backup. But, so far the stream I have been able to make and put on tape has a blank data code, meaning no date or time. So, if I use s/w to try and bring the video back in with scene detect, since all the files has blank data codes, I get 1 huge file, instead of the original files I put on tape.
So, can I make a M2T stream with data code in the stream, just like a camcorder tape has?
It shouldn't re-encode if the file is already DVD-compliant.
Does the Smart Rendering icon show up in the Source stage next to the clip thumbnail? (It looks like a blue "SR") If there is a red "FR" then it will be fully re-encoded.
Some things to check:
Is the project type NTSC DVD? If it's PAL it will be fully re-encoded if your source is NTSC.
Did you change any settings in the Track settings?
Did you change the pixel aspect ratio in the clip properties?
i make kvcds so i encode the audio and video separately then multiplex the two together, but when i encode the audio to mp2 it plays but has no sound. i thought the problem was with tmpeg but same thing with two other encoders i tried.
so as of now i have no way to complete my movies. been doing this successfully for years and have never come across this problem.
many time i try to authoring blu ray disc when i start rendering the project i get same problem ( not enough storage is available to complete this operation error code 0x8007000e , some time i had this not after rendring 30% or 50 % 65% thierfor my pc system is : processor amd phenon 9750 quad-core processor 2.41ghz - 8 gb ram 64 bit vista oprating system - 1000 gb hd - 500 gb hd for system - display card nvidia geforce 8600gt display monotor asus vw 222. so i want puy this program but i not shoe now about this proplem , is thier any soultion for it
i try everything i can to solve this problem and i red the help instructions step by step .
I am having exactly the same problem right down to the error code. I am also running an AMD Quad Core. I have 4GB of RAM of in excess of 500GB of free disc space. Exactly the same source footage works fine with authoring a DVD video. The problem only occurs when authoring a Bluray Disc.
This prog is very buggy it is far too heavy on resources for HD authoring, like it was writtain for a pc which needs to be 20 times faster than a quad core, shame because all other tmpgenc products work very well
think about it, you are tryign to process lots of titles, pages buttons etc, and the software relies on the memory you have installed to remmber what it needs to process, and whilst its doing this the memory is getting lower and lower becuase its like a hard drive, the mor data you add into the free space you had, the hard drive space gets smaller and smaller, and then when you get to a certain stage and the software still needs a certain amount as a temp file which is exactly what the memory is storing, it will give you a warnign sayign low space and advices you to free space up.
heck it happens to me if i go and extract over 50 rar'd files, encod full HD videos etc all at the same time, or during a string of tasks, the memory gets lower and ive got 6gb's of memory yet i can get to a point where i have only 300mb of memory left.... and its all becuase the temp storage if being used in the memory.
so depending on what you are tryignt o achive, and what your specs are on your system i woiuld upgrade your memory to the most you can do.
hi , thank's for ur replay
in fact i had 8 gb ram plus quad cbu and 2 hd drive 1000 gb each ??? and u say get more rams and space ???
this problem happend only when i have mkv file 1920 x 1040 or 1420 x 840 as a source , when i try the m2ts 1920 x 1080 file it's worked fine and finshed through 30 min !!!! so i think the problem in reconverting the source file to blu ray ( m2ts ) ?? pls anybady have a soultion .......
thanks
If you are creating motion menus, every page that displays those menus opens an instance of the codecs for audio and video. When you display the menu page and it has 8 pages of 8 chapters per page, then Works tries to bring up 64 instances of the codecs needed to "play" that motion menu and its motion chapters. This is also the requirement during the building and processing of your final DVD or Blu-RAY movie. Open Task Manager and select Performance. You can watch both your physical memory and pagefile memory get consumed during the DVD or Blu-ray build. Mine seems to crash at 2.06 gigs which conflicts with the amount of memory resources I have available.
I have 4 gigs physical memory and 6 gigs pagefile. Whenever I try to create a Blu-ray movie with motion menus and chapters and pop-up menus, it blows up and claims not enough resources to complete the process. You might want to make sure your temporary file processes have sufficient hard drive space to store those temporary files.
Do not use this option if you do not have enough memory since it may eventually slow down the process. Disable this option in case a memory error occurs during the output.
Not able to finish the download with install wizard due to a feature transfer error ( 1610 ) . This appears saying "The configuration data for this product is corrupt" . I have Not been having download issues with other software products on my PC , nor is there any firewall or anti-virus blocking the process .
Please Advise next step - Thank You .
i cannot play the .divx rendered by tmpgenc with the menu at the beginning. it just plays the first track automatically?how should i play it? and also how do i burn the 4.1 gig .divx file so that my divx player will treat it like menu style?
I found that if you extract the audio first with Any Video Converter (freeware) which should change to a mpg file. Then use the author 4.0 works... does that help? ( I had the same problem since there was no audio .)
