Question - TDA3 - Sound in menu? HELP No.60588
TheNewUser  2008-06-15 14:55:56 ( ID:xyndv9jhmeh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi! I hope someone can help me...
I don't know how to get background audio in the menu!
When I try, I get this message: "The menu background audio option is
currently disabled for this project. Background audio selection requires the
background audio option to be enabled. See the menu settings window audio tab."
And I can't find that "tab"! Please help me! :)

tkrave  2008-06-16 18:23:48 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

In the Menu Stage there is a button in the upper left corner called "Global DVD menu settings." Click that, and then go the "Motion menu" tab. There, you can add background audio and/or make your thumbnails/background animate.

tkrave  2008-06-16 18:27:49 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Er, to clarify, the Global DVD menu settings is where you enable BGM and motion, and adjust the duration. To actually add the BGM you have to go back to the Menu item editor (which is where I think you saw that message) and then you can add your audio file.

Question - TDA3 - Import Not Working No.60585
Mark  2008-06-11 19:40:34 ( ID:teaelrcd/4c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've attempting my first import from a DVD that was created on my new Panasonic DVD Recorder. The program wizard checks out the DVD and asks me to "Select the VIDEO_TS.IFO title to import. It gives me 2 Title lists to select...one called Playlist 1 and one called Title 1. each on is 4290 MB in size. When I try to import these, all I get are black frames. No errors, just all black frames. Anyone have any clues? I've been able to open these VOB files with other software so I'm not sure if TEMGEnc Author has some compatility problem or what. I'm using the Trial version of Author 3.

peekaboo  2008-07-22 03:28:25 ( ID:tdcnepr2gur )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I use a Panasonic DVD Recorder and the recordings from it import fine into DVD Author 3. I use the full version though, maybe that is why.

Question - TDA3 - Trouble creating an XDVD No.60584
Dennis  2008-06-11 19:11:14 ( ID:lzixez2jcyj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have a TV series with 12 30 minutes episodes that I'd like to get on one DVD. I used TMPGEnc 4.0 to create XDVD format mpg files from the XviD originals. The total size of all 12 files is 3.97G. However, when I load the 12 files in TEMPGEnc DVD Author 3 and try to create an output, it fails with error "Specified transcode size is unreachable". The minumum size for the 12 files is 4656 MB.

What am I doing wrong?
Dennis

What country do you live in? I know that some governments block certain communications. China and Singapore are some of the countries where this occurs.

Question - TDA3 - PAL-NTSC conversion? No.60582
jastewart  2008-06-07 13:16:01 ( ID:yzxhps4n/lj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have created (in the UK, for normal PAL use) a DVD with a slideshow and some film clips. It works fine on any player here. The question is - will it work when I send a copy to a friend in the US? - and if not, what do I need to do? (I have various TMPGEnc tools)

Thanks

James.

tkrave  2008-06-14 01:35:24 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Whether or not your friend in the US will be able to play it depends on his DVD player. Some DVD players can decode NTSC and PAL video signals, but if he just has an average, ordinary DVD player, then chances are that he won't be able to read the PAL DVD.

You may just have to recreate the whole disc in NTSC mode in DVD Author 3. It should be able to convert the PAL video to NTSC automatically. I haven't done this myself, but I've made NTSC footage into a PAL DVD.

Question - TE40 - feature request No.58229
huy  2008-06-07 05:43:24 ( ID:txq5tgsiqqn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

when using divx or AVI output format I would like to have AC3 passthrough with the encoded video. That's the only thing missing from TMpgenc that would make it perfect.

M Lisett  2008-06-20 04:11:42 ( ID:medjp4.yoma )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

its not missing from their product, its just that you have not got the ac3 codec installed , many codec packages such as klite advanced codec pack will have it in it, when you go to select the encoding codecs look mfor the audio tab and selecvt ac3

Hi,
I'm trying to convert 15 different avi files together but it joines the MPEG's together (So insted of 15 x 45 minute episodes it turns into a 5 hour film).
How do I change it (if I can) so when I convert multiple avi files thay are separate when thay finished covertng?

There's a drop down menu located near the top of the window under the Format section. Set it to output each clip seperately.

Or you can just do each individual video manually and set them up each in batch mode.

Question - TE40 - 64-bit compatibility No.58224
gern  2008-06-02 20:10:47 ( ID:fk/bbu./yt2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Does TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress work with the 64-bit version of Windows XP? Is there a 64-bit compiled version?

Thanks!

tkrave  2008-06-14 00:16:45 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

64-bit operating systems are not officially supported, but I've heard of people using TMPGEnc products on their 64 bit systems without problems. There's no 64-bit compiled version, but you can just try the trial and see how it works on your system.

pluff_mud  2008-07-05 07:10:52 ( ID:fjly/cofjhw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am currently running TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress on Windows XP 64 bit and haven't had any issues. Mainly converting H.264 content to Divx and am using CoreAVC and AC3Filter.

Question - TDA1 - TDA 1.6 Menu audio always LPCM ? No.49490
Dave  2008-06-01 22:20:57 ( ID:5fvialdxa/n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've used video with ac3 and mpeg audio for the menu background, but they always get converted to wave LPCM. Is there a way around this so I can keep the original audio format? I ticked the Environmental settings to AC3 default, but this seems to apply only to the loaded videos, not the menu.
I know in later TDA versions, the menu audio isn't always LPCM.

Question - TDA1 - DivX is unacceptable No.49489
charlie  2008-06-01 16:09:11 ( ID:kxnlkluwigr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

ps.

DVD's use mpeg2 and ONLY mpeg2

DivX is totally unaceptable and should never be installed on any system.

Scrap my last message - your software cannot be trusted.
