Hiya kiddos!

after searching pretty deeply here, i still cannot come up with an answer...
please help?

1. can i import a sequence of TGA Still Files and make a mpeg2? it seems with all the settings it still is not working?

2. is there any specific nameing convention? or can it be anyhting as long as there is an 001, 002, 003 etc...for example

Bumpers001.TGA, Bumpers002.tga and so on

thanx in advance

bee eph

A little OT for here but imaging software is a good place to look. I think Ulead's inexpensive Photoimpact product can combine images into an AVI file which could then be encoded with TMPGEnc.

Minion  2003-02-05 21:25:54 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What exactly is the Problem, You say it isn"t Working But what isn"t working?? You have to Name the Files sequentially like you said "Bumpers001.tga, Bumpers002.tga, Bumpers003.tga Ect,and they have to have the Same Resolution, and if they will not Load into tmpgenc you can try raiseing the Priority of the "Bmp,jpg, tga ect File reader" in the Vfapi Plugins...and Put a Check next to the Option in the "Enviromental Settings" that says "Open Sequences as Movie"....

Bob Flood  2003-02-05 21:35:00 ( ID:q0g7ebxahqh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

minion:

sorry when i say isnt working, i mean i follow the directions i see you posted to other users trying to import a sequence ie check the box in environment, bring in the first file, but only one frame shows up!

i tried frame serving them and it worked fine

now i will try the priority thang

thanx!

Boy, I never even noticed the BMP/TGA... reader in the list.

This program has features out the proverbial wazoo.

Question - TE25 - Lack of registry access No.34165
mcamino  2003-02-05 17:07:39 ( ID:ypukbbnt5km )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am trying to run this program on a brand new win xp computer. With 1gb of ramm and a athlon xp 2300 (i think) cpu. i am havin just one problem, since that computer i only have "user level privlages" (its a shared computer) i do not have access to write to the registry and everytimei run theprogram it says i need to be a administrator to have registry access.. i read earlier that i do not need registry access with the version changelog. so what is the work around to advoid this problem, i have a older version i bought back a few months ago and the brand new trial version. both are giving me the same problem. any suggestions or work arounds to get it to work without regisrty access?

Minion  2003-02-05 21:19:16 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

There is No way to use Tmpgenc without it accessing the Registry, it does not Rely on the Registry to run But it does Need to Put a Couple entries into the Registry like so it Knows when the Trial runs out ...so there is No Way around it unless you Know how to Reprogram it not to access the registry but that would be illegal.....

Question - TE25 - cdg2svcd and TMPGEnc No.34162
worldbyte  2003-02-05 11:37:56 ( ID:1hkss7/5ob6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm using this program (CGD2SVCD) to convert some CD+G CD's into SVCD, actually this is only a frontend for 2 programs (CDG2AVI and TMPGEnc).
With the CDG2AVI, I've got no problem, but when it comes to TMPGEnc...

So, what it does is:
The CDG2SVCD, uses some tpr files to convert the AVI file plus the MP3 into a MPEG.
The only way that i know to use convert AVI+MP3 is to enable MUX. The problem is that CDG2SVCD, in some kind of batch, uses the audio file but doesn't include the "mux://", so it cannot convert the mp3 sayin "Unsupported".

Question:
1. Is there any other way to convert AVI+MP3 to SVCD, without enabling Mux?
2. Or can I edit the tpr (text mode) so that in the audio source it could include the "mux://" plus the text that comes from CDG2SVCD?

Thanks

HI!!! Im trying to encode an avi file but wen i do then en result ends up with no audio. wuts going on please help thanx

Minion  2003-02-05 21:11:51 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The Audio in the AVI file is Of a format that Tmpgenc can not decode, Either because you don"t have all the correct Filters and Codecs installed or the audio is Something like VBR MP3 or AC3..You need to extract the audio to a WAV file with something like "AVI-Mux" or "Virtual Dub" then use the WAV file as the audio source...

Question - TE25 - 16:9 footage recorded in 4:3 format No.34159
Paul  2003-02-04 23:24:12 ( ID:8od7nydu0ak )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've got a 16:9 video on a MiniDV tape in 4:3 format. Naturally everything is squished horizontally to fit. I've dumped this to AVI and am ready to convert to MPEG1 with TMPGEnc, but how do I tell it to fix the aspect ratio? I want to retain 4:3 format (NTSC 352x240). Thanks.

If the Image Looks all squished and all you want to do is make it look Normal But still have the 4:3 aspect ratio then try useing the "Clip Frame" and "Video arrange method" settings in the "Advanced Settings", with it you Can strecth the Image so it looks normal or at least better and you can change the way the Picture looks in the Frame..Just keep the Output aspect ratio set to 4:3....

Paul  2003-02-05 10:52:45 ( ID:8od7nydu0ak )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I had a look at the Advanced Settings but I don't see how I can use Clip to stretch the image into shape... remember that the image is already full-screen, so I can't clip anything or I will lose material. I basically need a resize command to push the top and bottom of the picture towards the middle... but I can't see anything like that in TMPGEnc...?

Ashy  2003-02-05 17:58:15 ( ID:4adzcnohuc. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

No need to use the clip frame setting. The solution is very simple.
Under the 'Advanced' tab choose '16:9 display' as the source aspect ratio.
Set the Output aspect ratio to 4:3 and the 'Video arrange method' to 'Full screen (keep aspect ratio)'
This will resize the image to the correct shape.

Check the result using File>preview.

ASHY

Paul  2003-02-06 19:30:36 ( ID:8od7nydu0ak )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanks Ashy -- I set 16:9 as the source aspect and Video Arrange Method to "Full Screen (Keep aspect ratio)" and all was well. :)

But two questions:

(1) Set the Output aspect ratio to 4:3 -- I didn't see this option anywhere?
(2) Check the result using File>preview -- I didn't see this either?

Anyway, like I said it worked even though I didn't do these two things, but
I'm curious as to where they are...

Ashy  2003-02-06 21:38:37 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are you joking?
The preview option has been there since TMPG was born.

Open TMPG then at the top left corner click 'File' then a menu will pop up. Here you will find the 'Preview' option. Click it and up will pop the Preview screen.

The output aspect ratio is located under the 'Video' tab

ASHY

Paul  2003-02-08 20:09:04 ( ID:8od7nydu0ak )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi Ashy,

I always use TMPG in Wizard Mode, hence my misunderstanding about File>Preview. ;)

As for Output Ratio being under the Video tab -- all options under the Video tab are disabled, with only Motion Search Precision enabled. I assume this is because I am encoding to MPEG1.

Paul.

Ashy  2003-02-09 18:24:20 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can easily unlock the setting or all settings by either clicking where the setting is itself and choosing unlock or load the unlock.mcf template in the 'Extra' folder located in your template folder.

Minion  2003-02-04 23:41:04 ( ID:a6p1jd3ovjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This Sounds like A Sure sign of Bitrate Spikes,What is Happening is the Bitrate Jumps Too high and the DVD Player can not spin up the Disk fast enough to read the Increased data Rate ,so you see the Video slow down then it speeds up when the Disk has a Chance to speed to the speed it needs to read the data , ..What Bitrate settings are you useing??? You can Probably minimize or eliminate this effect By changeing your Bitrate and Rate controll settings..

beef  2003-02-05 16:19:47 ( ID:xlnf0vsqrnw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ok sunds like it!

I will try to adjust the bitrate....

else ill get back to you, thanks a bunch!

Question - TE25 - how to encode ac3 to mp2 ? No.34136
Darrell  2003-02-04 12:05:35 ( ID:wsiilbqc0in )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

anyone?

phuong61  2003-02-04 23:26:37 ( ID:gz61fnukoej )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

download ac3tool from digital-digest, encoded to wav file and then use tmpgenc to encoded to mp2.

digtalman  2003-02-05 18:46:42 ( ID:epgch8lyfnj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Get a program called Headac3he. Perfect for what you are asking to do. Lets you convert to wav, mp3, or ogg-vorbis in CBR or VBR audio.

digtalman  2003-02-05 18:47:30 ( ID:epgch8lyfnj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It also lets you convert to MP2 as you wanted.

Darrell  2003-02-09 07:22:43 ( ID:wsiilbqc0in )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ashy you mean headache3he? what i did was using virtualdubmod to save it as ac3. then used besliced to fix the file header. then i copy the parameter i set in besweet gui to besweet command line version & encode it to wave/mp2....

Ashy  2003-02-09 18:34:57 ( ID:n3gjkhi6dvc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes I'm referring to Headac3he.

Jaysus what a lot of faffing about you seem to be doing.

Where is the Ac3 located? In an AVI or a VOB?

If it's AVI then AVI mux can extract the Ac3 directly to a wav.
If it's a VOB then VOB2AUDIO will extract it to a wav.

Then to encode to Mp2 at lightening speed use MPEGDJencoder. This app encodes a 2 hour wav to Mp2 in about 3 minutes or you could just use TMPG to encode the wav to Mp2 in about 25-30 mins.

ASHY

Darrell  2003-02-11 13:07:41 ( ID:wsiilbqc0in )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

THANKS ALOT ASHY !!!! btw ac3 is located in avi
