Files I have made using v6.0.7.18 or 6.0.7.19 will no longer play on my LG TV (via USB drive). Using v6.0.6.17 or earlier play without any problems. When trying to play on my LG TV, I get an error on the screen stating "This file is invalid." There is no problem with the file itself (it will play just fine on my computer and other files not created with TMPEnc VMW6 will play on my LG TV). I *think* this problem may be from a change made to the x264 encoder as stated in the changelog for v6.0.7.18 (Improved: x264 encoder updated.) I am not sure if this is the cause of the problem or not because if I use either the x264 or the NVENC encoder the file will not play on my LG TV. But I do know that any files I created using v6.0.6.17 or earlier will play without issue. Any help in fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. And Thanks for making such a wonderful program.
I had a similar problem with h.264/mkv files created by V6.0.7.19 Trial,
playing on my old LG BD370 blu-ray player. Re-multiplexing them with
Mkvtoolnix V5.8 fixed the problem.
I am having the same issue with my Samsung TV. I think you are correct about the bug introduction in the last version. One thing that I noticed was that if you open the file using MKVtoolnix you can see that the audio track shows up first as ID 0 and the video track shows up as ID 1. This is completely opposite from any other encoder that I have used. Thoughts?
Now I just need to find out where I can download 6.0.6.17 so my encoding works again. Any ideas?
Are there any plans to open some of the other encoding options in TVMW6 to being able to use NVENC, like, say, Blu-Ray h.264 rendering? I need to find an alternative to using Intel hardware rendering because it has become increasingly unreliable. It took me two days to render a 45-minute episode of a show because it would always lock up or crash, and never at the same point.
Hello, I can't find this information anywhere, so I am asking for your help, please.
I don't know how to include free play clips in TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5 (or 4) between the first track "locked" track and the track menu.
In other words I am trying to author a Bluray but it's the same if it was a DVD:
in the "First play" Track I need to put the discalimer, and I set the "Restrict control during this track playback".
After that I need to put 3 trailers without the restricted control and after the 3 trailers the track menu should appear.
I really can't understand how to put clips that should play direclty between the first track and the track menu.
Thank you for your help.

I don't think it's possible in TAW4/5 because of the inability to specify end-of-clip actions and other related clip playback characteristics. This is definitely one of TAW's shortcomings which needs to be addressed.
I realize that this forum is designed to be 'User Supported', but users don't have all the answers ... and the TAW design team doesn't appear to want to address the occasional problems that users are unable to address, except in a limited fashion via direct email contact. Whereas, it's far more logical and beneficial to their customers if they would address problems and remedies, publicly ... on THIS forum.
This is certainly a strange way to show customer appreciation to those who are responsible for the success of their products.
It's not possible in this software to add a "first play" item. For a while I was obsessed with first-play videos loading before the menus, and I used a vob file editor to manually add one to the VIDEO_TS folder, but it was a pain in the neck and sometimes ruined your VIDEO_TS folder. Sony's DVD Architect can add a first play, and I think Adobe Encore does it as well. Why these guys don't add that feature I will never know. It definitely makes your DVDs look a lot more professional.
Suddenly when I save a video it is saved with a long project name and creating a new sub-directory. What did I do to mess up the preferences? I've tried a number of settings with no success.
So I have a 16:9 clip, it loads in fine. It's from a DVD.
The steps I took are as follows:
Start New Project - Normal Mode
From DVD/Blu-ray/AVCHD
I select the drive the DVD is in using From Drive
It loads everything in fine. The clip shows up as 16:9 like it's supposed to, I look at the properties and it says 16:9 as well. Then when I choose Output to AVI I use the Lagarith codec but it never keeps the 16:9 aspect ratio. It makes it 4:3 Letterboxed. I can't see anywhere to change this and I can't figure out why it changes it because all the settings are right previous to the output of AVI.
When adding many (80 + ts files I must spent a lot of time clicking next on each file as it is added. Is this really necessay? Have looked in preferences but can't find a way for the video files to be added without the extra click to accept
tks
actually this time I have 333 small avchd files to convert to mp4 and it is very unfortunate that TMPENG MW6 cannot simply import these files by selecting all of them a once and importing all into a Project without the need to click "next" 333 times
bummer I have to use a free converter and get inferior encoding but more user friendly
This may have been a feature added since your post, but if you use the Source Wizard and choose Add DVD/Blu-ray/AVCHD, then browse to the first level in your file tree (for example, in my Sony camera - It's >Private>), the program will group your files together in Playlists. Very easy to deal with.
Since I updated to version 5.2.4.63 (over the previous version), every time I start to create the output folder by clicking on the "Start Output" button, I get an error message as follows:
Loading error occurred at address 008E954C of module "TMPGEncAutoringWorks5.exe" with 00000004
The program just waits until I press "OK", then it proceeds to check/erase the output DVD and begin creating the folders. I don't see any errors in the Windows Event Viewer. My OS is Windows 8.1 32-bit and I have 4GB of RAM.
The error doesn't appear to affect the final output, but it is very annoying.
Ive run into a new problem with Mastering Works 5 that I never had before. I import mp4s that were exported with Adobe Media Encoder at 1920X1080/Main 4.1/11kbs VBR/Stereo 48khz. I use Mastering to bust these down 720X404/800mg streaming size. I've been doing this for years. Now though when I import an Adobe encoded clip it crashes the program. Any ideas why?
You should not even be thinking of Windows 10 yet.
Even though Microsoft keeps trying to push it down the throats of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 users, its far from ready for release.
Tons of bugs has been discovered inside Windows 10 that yet has to be fixed, mainly when it comes to multimedia. This means that video and audio editing software will not run smoothly under Windows 10 at all, but very unstable.
Stay away from Windows 10 for now if you actually want that system. Wait for them to have sorted it all out, so thjat it will be a 100% finished product you upgrade to.
I'm putting this in the Video Mastering Works BBS because there isn't one for the Plug-in. Feel free to move it to the appropriate place if this is wrong.
Yesterday I installed the trial for TMPGEnc Movie Plug-in AVC for Premiere Pro:
Today I noticed that my hosts file was now missing, which was very concerning, so I ran some virus scans/etc. The only thing that I have installed in the last few weeks was the trial, so I ran PrPlugin_Trial_1.0.5.5_setup_en.exe in Virus Total and this is the result:
Hello,
I am using Winfast PxVC1100 with TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 with good results.
Now I expect TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 6 that works well on windows 10, with advantech HVC-8700, is it in your plan?
Sincerely yours
I also use Winfast PxVC1100 with TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5, did a test simulating the compression quality Loilo Scope for uploading to YouTube.
Game Wow Fraps 1080p 24fps => (SpursEngine)
I would like to share templates using SpursEngine my email is smartfinder@hotmail.com
It is an excellent suggestion using Advantech HVC-8700 as a new SpursEngine for H265, this news was waiting for 1 year;)
(NVENC for H265 has in practice the same quality and size as H264.)
(NVENC has better quality than SpursEngine, but is not compatible with Blu-ray)
