Question - TE25 - p3package.dll No.31715
Tara  2002-12-09 20:59:27 ( ID:irjvzanw/oh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Anyone else getting a missing or cannot load P3package.dll error?
It works up until I try to convert the files, then the error message pops up and I have to close it down. I cannot find anywhere to download the missing file from and even re downloading the whole program doesn't do anything. Any comments? suggestions....

minion  2002-12-09 23:05:18 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This error is Cause usually because you don"t have all of the Tmpgenc files in the Same folder..All of the files that come in the Zip file you download have to be placed into the same folder, and one of those Files has to be the "P3P Package.dll"....

akasha  2002-12-10 04:04:08 ( ID:klmba/ns9ur )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm getting the same problem, but have ensured the P3Package.dll IS in the same file folder. I've tried twice and it still won't work properly. How do I fix this?

minion  2002-12-10 09:13:38 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well that is strange, The Main EXE has to be in the Folder also and not on the desktop to be used as a ShortCut...You can try re-downloading Tmpgenc and see if that helps But if it doesn"t then there isn"t Much that I know that you can do..It would seem that Your SSE optimations of your CPU arent being accessed By Tmpgenc, there is One other Fix for this But it makes the encodeing Take 5 times longer and You would be better off useing something else instead of useing that Fix....

Question - TE25 - Problems Encoding No.31714
peter@howudodat.com  2002-12-09 20:45:04 ( ID:mzc2bvkuw3n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've been trying to re-render a m2v stream. Sometimes I get a read error at 00402f40 and sometimes the program just terminates with no error. Any ideas what this error might be?

Question - TE25 - any mpeg2vcr forum out there? No.31710
jetty  2002-12-09 19:49:13 ( ID:cai47j4msd6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello!

Seems my questions doesn't have an easy answer...

Is there any "Wobble" or "mpeg2vcr" forums ... I tried to find out myself but at google both words are difficult to search as there is too many obsolete hits.

While trying to repair my mpeg2 clips with mpeg2vcr I experience many crashes.
Several clips were repaired successfully but now I get mostly crashes. I'm not sure if it's because of corrupted streams or is there any incompatibilty with my win98se or with some other installed software component.

Well if it only works on Certain Files then the problem is Probably because of some problem in the Mpeg stream it self...You can probably contact Tech support at the Womble Web site...this is the Tech support e-mail address..: support@womble.com ...

jetty  2002-12-09 23:08:33 ( ID:cai47j4msd6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

i thought contacting them, but certainly there the first suggestion is to upgrade to latest version but i'm evaluating unofficial 3.11 ...
so i'm afraid, not much help of their tech support
....... the crashing is sometimes funny .... appliaction closes in the middle but still process may continue and produce the valid output.

minion  2002-12-10 01:52:17 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well I guess you Can try a different program for this..M2-Edit Pro v5 is Quite Good at repairing Mpeg streams and is a Good muxer and Mpeg editor, it is Very expensive though, the old er ersions were Maybe a Coupe hundred Bucks But the Latest version 5 is Like $1500..There is an older version that you can download at "_http://www.apachez.net" it is a Full version....Maybe some of your Mpegs are Just Un-Repairable..It might be easier to re-encode the source files..

Question - TE25 - Unrecognized exception! No.31709
Arwa  2002-12-09 16:50:26 ( ID:6ebfliikmwr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

I tried TMPGenc 2.59 and I have got this error message

Unrecognized Exception !
(C:AviSynth_Script_file.avs, line 3)

The referred file above in txt mode is:

LoadPlugin("C:PROGRA~1DVD2SVCDMPEG2Decmpeg2dec.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:PROGRA~1DVD2SVCDAVISYN~1.DLL")
mpeg2source("C:KISSOF~1DVD2AV~1.D2V")
BicubicResize(480,360,0.0,0.6)
AddBorders(0,60,0,60)
AvisynthSubtitler("C:KISSOF~1Subs","permsubs.txt")

I have used TMPGenc and I have set permanent subtitles. The problem that I have noticed is that in some parts of the movie the subtitles have disappeared and sometimes comes and goes...
Would you please help me on this matter...

Thanks in advance.

Arwa

Question - TE25 - Crashing with huge memory leak No.31706
Mike M  2002-12-09 16:29:36 ( ID:bgay61ngau2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Have any of you experienced constant crashing with TMPGEnc? I installed it (well unzipped it) and it initially runs OK, but as I get into the program or I switch windows, it instantly crashes and sucks up all the available memory. (256 meg, I get a low memory warning from windows instantly)

I originally tried ver 2.54 but then found 2.59 and that did exactly the same thing.

I searched through these posts but didnt find anyone really having issues with it crashing.

Any thoughts?

TIA,
Mike

While encodeing you shouldn"t do anything with your computer accept encode..Encodeing usually sucks up most of your resources..But I have no solution for Constant crashes or Major memory leaks, Accept to do a Full re-install of your OS and start from Scratch, Cuz there could be some sort of software conflict ,It is Quite a Hassle to re-install your OS But it is still Quacker than Hopeing a waiting for the Problem to fix itself....

wcpaul  2002-12-11 17:55:31 ( ID:q7gr550x3gw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Never had a crash on Win XP.

Other apps have crashed my system and it usually is a case where video software, in general, stresses the system far beyond any other software so weak points are uncovered. (Two of my disk drives are on the way back to Seagate.)

Question - TE25 - Producing PCM output from AVI with PCM No.31704
Eric J  2002-12-09 14:21:33 ( ID:8w4j.tnrkzl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am starting with an AVI from my digital camcorder and converting it to Type 2 DV using the Canopus converter. The original recording was made at 48 kHz 16 bit PCM stereo.

I am authoring with MyDVD, which came with my recently accquired Pioneer A05. MyDVD requires uncompressed PCM for the audio, and will accept the audio in a separate file from the video.

I am using TMPGEnc set to generate separate video and audio elementary streams (.m2v and .wav, respectively), with the audio in TMPG set to 48 kHz PCM.

The question is whether TMPG is doing any transcoding of the audio, or merely separating out the audio of the AVI into a separate file. I would like to avoid any such additional encoding, but it is convenient to have TMPG generate the audio while it is working on the video, producing two files whose names differ only by the extension, which MyDVD can take directly.

More generally, is there a better/easier way to achieve the files I need for authoring than the method I described?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Eric J

minion  2002-12-09 22:54:13 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes it would be easier and Probably faster to seperate the Audio from the Video in WAV format before encodeing and Just encodeing the Video with Tmpgenc..Most AVI files Can have the Audio extracted to a WAV file with "Virtual Dub" But I don"t know if Virtual Dub Supports DV AVI File But it Might But if that doesn"t work Then Sound Forge Is really good at seperateing the AUdio from the Video and saveing it in Pretty much any format..You can even Use Tmpgenc to extract the audio Just by Loading in the File and going to "File" to "Output to file" to "WAV" and it should only take a Minute...But I dont think Tmpgenc does any Transcodeing of the audio if the audio is allready in WAV Format...

Question - TE25 - How do you create Half SIF mpeg files No.31701
Adrian Locke  2002-12-09 11:29:00 ( ID:f7yubamcmmw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Please help as I am new to TMPGEnc

Thanks

What exactly is your Problem?
If it is the Framerate-Setting, then do this:
Setting -> Video -> Klick on the WORD Framerate (not on Settings or the Listbox)
Choose Unlock, be happy...

minion  2002-12-09 22:46:52 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You Cant Make Compliant Mpeg files with a Lower Frame rate than 23.9fps with Tmpgenc Because the Mpeg standard has no remedy for frame rates lower than 23.9fps,But if you are Just watching the Files on a Pocket PC then there is no need to use the Mpeg format..You will get Much smaller File sizes if you used an AVI Format like DivX or some other type of Mpeg-4 format and the Quality will be Just as good or even better....

Question - TE25 - Mpeg conversion problems No.31696
Brookfresh  2002-12-09 10:43:32 ( ID:pc0of8z2isc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi all.
I have copied a file from a VCD onto my hard-drive with plans to create a DVD. However, the file is a .mpeg but it wont be recognised by any software I have - except DVD workshop and I only ave a trial version of this program so thats no use.

I tried using TMPG and it says it is unsupported. Could anyone help me out here its very frustrating.

minion  2002-12-09 22:38:36 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

First Off why would you want to Make a DVD Out of a VCD??The Quality if the Resulting DVD will Be Less than The Original VCD, Just because the Movie is on a DVD Doesn"t make it any better Quality..The Quality will be even worse if you Resize the VCD resolution of "352+240" to a Standard DVD Resolution of "720+480"...From What I understand the Trial Version of "Ulead DVD Workshop" works exactly the same as the Full version accept that it runs out in 30 days, that is for the 1.2 version..I have the Full 1.3 version and it works great...If the VCD File was Ripped of a VCD Disk then you might be able to get Tmpgenc to read the File if you try to Run the Mpeg1 file through the "Simple Multi-Plex", this should re-write the Header so the file might be easier to read..You can also raise the Priority of the "Microsoft Mpeg1 file reader" in the "Vfapi Plugins" and raiseing the "Direct show File Reader" Might help also...But If I were you I would Keep the VCD a VCD and Make DVD"s out of Higher Quality sources and with Resolutions that are closer to the Mpeg standard, But you can also Burn DVD"s as 352+240 and 352+480 But not all Authoring Programs support these DVD Resolutions....

DVDWS trial version 1.2 is fully functional 30 days. If you hurry you can manage maybe with your goal of a VCD.

Thanks for the advice.
The reason I am burning VCD files to DVD is because my DVD player in the front room wont play them, it will play DVD+R however.
I did as you suggested and used the MPeg tools to multiplex the files.
After I multiplexed the Mpeg files I used NeoDVD+4 to burn the DVD successfully, however when I played it on my DVD player there was no sound. There is sound when played through my computer though!
Is there perhaps a setting I need to be aware of for the sound.

My front room player is a pioneer DVK101 by the way, its getting on a bit now and I spent a lot of money on a new PC with a DVD burner so I cant replace it for a while.

Question - TE25 - tmpgenc muxed mpeg smaller then with mpeg2vcr 3.1 No.31693
jetty  2002-12-09 09:31:42 ( ID:cai47j4msd6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello!

Does anyone knows why Tmpgenc muxed m2v and m2p final stream is less Mb the the one with mpeg2vcr?
Difference is 3-4 Mb less per 500Mb. Extracting padding stream from mpeg2vcr muxed system stream is similar amount of 3-4 Mb bigger. Likely it's the answer.
But what is meaning behind it?
Is it a good idea to remux with Tmpgenc mpeg2vcr muxed streams in order to get smaller file and as I guess, also of a better quality, when there isn't any uneccesary information.

jetty

minion  2002-12-09 22:27:44 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Mpeg VCR has a problem with adding extra Padding to a File...With me If I use Mpeg2VCR to Edit or Mux Files It adds to much padding that The Files are Useless unless you remove the Padding..For some reason If I add a 750mb Video file and a 50mb Audio file to the Muxer I usually end up with a File that is over 2gb, the same thing happens with Edited files..So Consider yourself lucky Cuz you aren"t getting very much padding to your Files compared to Me...

jetty  2002-12-10 08:41:13 ( ID:cai47j4msd6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Couldn't it work also in other cases to get rid of tons of extra padding?
I mean that when tmpgenc refuses to mux then I mux with mpg2vcr31 and remux then once again (mpg system stream) with tmpgenc and then resulting mpg is some Mb smaller, that is the point when I posted the question here.

minion  2002-12-09 22:24:21 ( ID:w8yn5mktf8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When you Download Tmpgenc there should Be a Bunch of files,Take ALL of these Files and Put them in a Folder..To run the Program you Just double click the "Tmpgenc.exe" file...Tmpgenc Mostly encodes AVI file formats to Mpeg But it also accepts Mpeg1 files and Mpeg2 files if you have the Proper Mpeg2 decoder installed, it also works sometimes with WMV and ASF Files and you can encode MOV File if you have a Certain Plugin...To encode a File is Self explanitory If you use the "Wizard".....

Question - TE25 - Sound cuts off No.31686
Shawshank  2002-12-09 05:48:56 ( ID:625o1vwzpoc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am converting .avi files to mpeg. There is perfectly fine audio on all avi files., but when I try to convert some of them, The audio cuts out :30 into the movie. I looked up the video screen in the wisard's "Source" option and the program seems to verify this problem by indicating no audio after the first 20 seconds or some of the movie. PLEASE HELP!

Cyber_GELF  2002-12-09 21:02:32 ( ID:d9iizo2w1fg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

convert the audio to WAV first using a different prog like Vdub then convert that... It seems to work for all the ones that cut the audio out...
