I would like to make several montage with the same editing structure. How can I replace the clip source without cxhanging their duration ? if I just change the path, it changes the duration and remouves the transitions.
I've been using Authoring works 5 for a few years with no problems. (I purchased a license and it's a legit installation). Today when I tried to write a DVD project I got a popup that the "Disc Writing Tool Could Not Be Started. It is possible the installation is not correct"
Any ideas? I downloaded the install file from my Pegasys account and tried to re-run it, but there is no "repair" option of course. I can only fully remove the program. My next step is to try to remove it and then install again from scratch, but it's annoying that this happens when I'm in the middle of a project that is due in a matter of hours.
Any solutions out there? I can't get support from Pegasys any more because they don't support Authoring Works 5.
I edit using Premiere Pro CC and render out MPEG-2 (mv2 and wave) files for DVD creation and H.264 (m4v and wav) files for BluRay disk creation. I like to use the highest bitrate available that will meet the specs and also fit on the media.
I just started using AW6 and noticed that AW6 appears to re-render the video for a few seconds during scene changes. What average and maximum bitrate should I use to keep AW6 from re-rendering my source files when creating the DVD and BluRay folders? Is there a AW6 setting I should change?
I purchased a replacement version of TVM6 as I had used the first version the maximum number of times allowed.
They have blocked my use of the NEW VERSION by AUTOMATICALLY USING THE OLDER VERIONS CODES.
They are becoming so untrustworthy now!!!!
OH, AND THEY STOLE THE SECOND PAYMENT I MADE.
DON'T TRUST THEM ANY MORE. I THINK THEIR TRADING LICENCES SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR LEGALITY.
I'll now only use TVM5 as the new system is used bt them for theft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are so many variables to choose from, what settings do I choose to get the following to appear on TV when disc inserted as so far after 5 attempts I keep getting first page without my thumbnails and names of tracks beside them.
I want a nice background with thumbnails top to bottom and beside each one the name of the footage or as it is called 'track name'.
Tracks clips chapters etc not sure. I have brought into TMPGenc my .mpg footage, each is about 5 mins long on different subjects.
I have browsed to them all and imported them then used setting to give them their names.
These are tracks I think !
I dont want a page on which you click to then show another page , so I am trying to avoid Title page, I simply want to see my tracks.
I want to be able to click on a track thumbnail and the track plays, When it ends the menu appears with the tracks again.
If there isnt space on the page for all the tracks, then I need a button for page 2.
1.) Put your clips in their own tracks at the Source stage.
2.) In the Menu stage, choose to make a Custom Menu. Select the menu layout that looks the most similar to what you want (you can move things around later). Choose a background you like or use your own.
3.) Choose the "Top menu only" option when it comes up.
4.) For disc-insertion action, choose to view the top menu. For track playback end action, choose to display the top menu.
That's basically it! Once you finish setting up your menu, you can edit each individual page to look how you want it to look. Double-click on a menu page in the page list to open the menu page editor. You can then move the thumbnails and track names around, change the background, etc.
thats what I needed, thanks.
Though I am struggling a bit on custom versus template, I wanted 10 thumbs on my single page and template offers 4 or 5, I found 8 at base of a list, but I must get my head around use of custom a bit more.
what surprises me is lack of english spoken tutorials in youtube on TAW5, and tuts on working with interlaced and also creating menus, the menu options still baffle me a bit.
Need advice on how to use Authoring Works 6 to convert MKV to play with my smartphone (LG V20, max resolution 2560x1440). I tried to play around with different settings but the converted video didn't play properly (e.g. doesn't fit the screen). Assistance would be much appreciated.
Update: the same problem exists with TVMW6 on this machine.
The only visible track left by this action is in the Windows System log:
Log Name: System
Date: 18/03/2019 23:46:51
Event ID: 1074
Task Category: None
The process TMPGEncVMW6.exe has initiated the power off of computer XXXX on behalf of user XXXX\Benoit for the following reason: Other (Unplanned)
Reason Code: 0x0
Shutdown Type: power off
the next event in the System log is only 8 seconds later and is an information-level event from 'Time service', but also in the Application log an event 102 from ESENT where 'The database engine (10.00.17134.0000) is starting a new instance (0)'.
This would suggest a reboot instead of a shutdown....although I see no clear event related to a reboot (e.g. events from the kernel; and 8 seconds seems a bit short for a reboot anyway)
I'm comparing TMPGEnc SR5 with VideoRedo. Specifically, if I import a .ts file (DVB-T2 Freeview HD UK programmes recorded via USB tuner), and then edit out the commercials and any unwanted parts, VideoRedo only re-encodes at the cut points (usually between 10-20 frames for each cut point), then saving the file is very quick. However, with TMPGEnc SR5, the smart render analysis highlights many other places that will be re-encoded, even though those parts have not been changed in any way. The amount of re-encoding undertaken by SR5 varies for each video file I have, but VideoRedo is consistent in that re-encoding is only performed at cut points. Sometimes, SR5 re-encodes up to 20% or more of the file, even though less than 1% of it has been edited.
I really like SR5 but the amount of re-encoding it does compared with VideoRedo is a deal breaker for me. I can't find a setting to alter the amount of re-encoding performed by SR5, but the smart encoding section does appear to be unreliable and inconsistent vs VideoRedo. Any ideas out there??
I have to concur with 'ukmark62'on his re-encoding observation. I too was very much surprised to see just how many frames were being re-encoded after a simple unfiltered cut; after all, in the advertising of TMPGEnc SR5, the implication is quite the opposite. In a recent edit of a 2 minute video, (where only 1 cut was being applied), I noticed that 300+ frames were due for re-encoding! The video is a 4K MP4 and runs at 25 fps; so what's that?.....12 seconds of re-encoding in a 2 minute vid...just say it need another cut and maybe another!
One work around I use is to do keyframe cuts only (which sort of defeats the apps purpose), another is to use 2 other freely available programs.
Another thing I've noticed is, if you fade the audio just at the video end - surprisingly, all the audio gets re-encoded.
Although it's not the one-stop quick-grab app I was hoping for; it still does a sturdy job of joining vids (Audio and Video are in synch every time!); it's never crashed and it's GUI is clear and intuitive. Ohh.....so close!
