Hi, I have some tracks with an only file and a track with some videos, so I'd like to know if there's a way to make track menus for the tracks with more than 1 file, to be able to select the video I want to see.

You can select which track menus are visible in the Global Menu Settings. In the Menu Stage, click on the "global menu settings" button in upper left corner. You can then check which track menus are displayed.

I have combined 2 shows, each running about 50 minutes, on a single DVD. I would like each show to start with the time at 0:00 and run to 50:00. I ended up with the first show running from 0:00 to 50:00 and the second show from 50:00 to 1:40:00. Is there a way to reset the beginning of the second show to 0:00?

Is each show in the same track? If they are in the same track, they will be combined into one and will be treated as if it is one long video instead of two separate ones. Try putting them in separate tracks.

Some of my edited videos are coming out HUGE! I'm talking 30-40 GB!

I load the video I want. Then I cut out the scenes I don't want. Then I choose the format option, then I encode it, and my video comes out HUGE! Even bigger than the video before I edited it!

What could I be doing wrong?

What's your bitrate and quality settings? It's possible you're using a constant bitrate whereas the original used a variable bitrate.

If I create a DVD and then want to go back and make changes to the menu, is there a way to make the changes and create a new DVD witout re-encoding all of the files again?

I would just import the video from the DVD you just outputted. Then delete the old tracks. Since the imported video is already DVD-compliant, it won't need to be re-encoded.

TAW4 does allow import from actual DVD media but I did not see a way to import from the DVD files on the HDD. Is that possible?

Yes, it's possible.

Use the Source Wizard and select the "From a DVD, blah blah blah" option.

Then select the "From a folder" option and select your outputted VIDEO_TS folder. That's it! It should list the tracks as if it were an actual DVD disc.

I purchased this. I have a key for it. How do I enter the key in order to activate it? It keeps telling me my trial has expired.

The trial version and the retail version are two separate exe files.

You should be able to register your serial key during the registration process.
Once your account is set up, you can login and download the retail exe file.

My bad, I forgot Plus 2.5 is different than the other TMPGEnc products. The trial and retail version share the same exe file.

There should be a place to enter the key.

Nope. Anything passed through 4.0 XPress will be re-encoded.

Use TsMuxR (freeware) to do a simple demux of transport streams:

I have downloaded some wmv video from our state broadcaster, but as I have
trouble playing it on my media box, I need to convert it to mpeg.

I start a new project, and add wmv file.If I go to cut-edit section, and
play back different parts of the file, the audio is in perfect sync.
I click ok and select DVD standard mpeg file as format, 16:9, CBR and
dolby digital.(have also tried pcm).resolution is then set to 720x576, 9200 average bit rate for video, and 224 kb rate for audio.I then go to encode section.here I can do preview as well, and the audio is still in perfect sync.I start encode, and it finishes after some conversion time.and then I have an mpeg file with audio severely out of sync.the audio is a few seconds ahead of the video.

mpeg file is tested with vlc and wmp.is this a bug in tmp, or did I do something
foolish setting up the project? thanks in advance for any help.

Setting up a new windows 7 Intel Quad computer and I downloaded the TAW4 trial software in advance of purchase.

No matter what I do, I just can't get TAW4 to open AVS H.264 files.

The obvious answer might be that that the set limits on the trial software prevent this, but I couldn't find this restriction in the provided list.

I would truly appreciate some help with this problem.

Where did you get this AVS H.264 file? And you do mean AVS and not AVC?

The trial does not have limitations for importing files.

Will TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 allow me to save an audio track ONLY? If so, how? I'm not seeing it. Thx.

Use the MPEG Tools to demux the file into separate video and audio files.

I have a problem with TMPGEnc DVD Author. I've created a subtitle within the program, but it's not save. The video comes as a .divx file. So probably the subtitle should be saved in the same folder...
What's the thing? Where do the subtitle go saved?

When you output the project, the subtitles are contained in the .divx container, so it's not a separate file.

If you go the subtitle editor, you can export the subtitles as a file.

I have a FLV file specs below which my coppy of TMPGEnc 4.6.3.268 will not open so I cannot convert.
Is there anyway to get it too work?
It's very annoying, this a bought product, but the free Any Video Converter 3.1.0 which I searched and found WILL!!!!

The answer I got from TMPGEnc was that I should try and upgrade, and that FLV1 and FLv4 were the only flvs supported, nothing about when they thought abought including anything else.
Not progressive and customer interested, when a quick search turns up a prog that does what I want, it makes me wonder if I will be buying any of there stoff again.

This is the way I convert an .flv file with TMPGEnc - YMMV
I use the following programs:
AutoGK 2.55 (also installs AviSynth)
QuickTime Pro (or VLC can be used) for audio conversion
FLV Extract 1.6.1 http://moitah.net/
DGAVCDec 1.09 http://www.videohelp.com/download/dgavcdec109.zip

use FLV Extract to demux the .flv

open the .aac audio file in QuickTime to create a .wav file
File > Export > Export: Sound To Wave > Options: (choose what you like)
now you have your .wav file

open the .264 video file in DGAVCDec
(learn how to choose your 'settings'...)
File > Save Project
now you have your .dga file

Save these 6 lines in notepad as an .avs file:
LoadPlugin ("C:\Program Files\DGAVC\DGAVCDecode.dll")

Keep all these files so far in the same folder.
TMPGEnc will now import the .avs file with all your editing features,
along with most other video programs that can handle an .avi import.
One of the few things you have to set is bitrate & quality. The added bonus
of an .avs file - you can drop it into other programs like VirtualDub
& all of your resizing, fading, bordering, etc... in the .avs - saving
you the time of having to reset everything in different programs.

Spankenstein thanks for posting. Try reading the post, its about a new flv that TMPGEnc dosn't support and after that they are not interested.

Your method sounds like a lot of hard work when Any Video Converter 3.1.0 which I mentioned in the origonal post, will do it in one go and is very quick.

I just think that TMPGEnc's attitude confirms my view about buying programs.
