hi im trying to capture video clips from a panasonic hdc-hs25 hd cam with my tmpgenc5 sw but it's not letting me capture more than 200 clips. anyone know if newer version (6) of sw can do this? or how i can do this with tmpgenc 5?
I think 200 is the limit for version 6 as well.
If you can combine them into one video, that could work. In other words, import 200, output as one video, then create a new project with the rest of the clips and the combined clip.
Whenever I try to do a Constant Bitrate encode using the Intel QuickSync it always gets to 16/X frames and sits there while the total completion time keeps climbing. For example, my encode has been sitting for 20 minutes at 16/163840 frames and is showing a completion time of 1380:42:00 and climbing.
It does this for every CBR encode that I try regardless of the original source video size/length.
When I choose Shutdown as finishing task, it seems the system goes idle instead of shutting down. (this is Windows 10 / 1803)
The only visible track left by this action is in the Windows System log:

The process TMPGEncVMW6.exe has initiated the power off of computer XXXX on behalf of user XXXX\Benoit for the following reason: Other (Unplanned)
Reason Code: 0x0
Shutdown Type: power off
Comment:
the next event in the System log is only 8 seconds later and is an information-level event from 'Time service', but also in the Application log an event 102 from ESENT where 'The database engine (10.00.17134.0000) is starting a new instance (0)'.
This would suggest a reboot instead of a shutdown....although I see no clear event related to a reboot (e.g. events from the kernel; and 8 seconds seems a bit short for a reboot anyway)
Is there a way to check whether I need to enable the option to allocate higher bitrate for DVD subtiles, without carefully watching the whole film with subtitles turned on ?
Feature film is pretty long, has already been carefully encoded and hence I would like to avoid re-encoding with a lower bitrate for the video, to allow higher bitrate for subtitles.
In case of insufficient bandwith for subtitles, will dropped subtitles occur with software players as well as with home DVD players ?
When I'm in 'cut' of video file, I suffer from long time to load thumbnails in seek section. When I jump into some point in video, it takes 5-15 seconds for thumbnails to appear. That siginficantly slows down work. Changing time of thumbnails distance doesn't accect. Once I scrolled through video, thumbnails are generated and it's fast. So I would even like to have them generated it production tool or so, so when I start working with clip I already have them.
Are there some factors to change, to make that faster? I have to seek a lot through long file it really affects me.
I see that during seeking, while thumbnails are generated, CPU is loaded signigicantly, 4 cores at 40-50%. Once thumbnails are generated, CPU load goes down. I tried to use GPU/Intel video decoding, but it didn't change anything.
I created RAID0 array from SSDs, to have huge read/write time but it didn't help.
Interesting is that when I jump into somewhere in the file, in preview section I immediately get image, so I assume this can be done almost 'online'. The same I would like to have in thumbnails.
I tried this wit several different input sources and it's the same.
If I use the Dolby Analyzer and rescue 5.1 audio, my audio sync is off by a large margin. If there a fix for this or is there a manual adjustment I need to make?
I would like to make several montage with the same editing structure. How can I replace the clip source without cxhanging their duration ? if I just change the path, it changes the duration and remouves the transitions.
I've been using Authoring works 5 for a few years with no problems. (I purchased a license and it's a legit installation). Today when I tried to write a DVD project I got a popup that the "Disc Writing Tool Could Not Be Started. It is possible the installation is not correct"
Any ideas? I downloaded the install file from my Pegasys account and tried to re-run it, but there is no "repair" option of course. I can only fully remove the program. My next step is to try to remove it and then install again from scratch, but it's annoying that this happens when I'm in the middle of a project that is due in a matter of hours.
Any solutions out there? I can't get support from Pegasys any more because they don't support Authoring Works 5.
Try and use a general contact form from their website and they might help you out even though it's an older product. No guarantees but it's worth a shot.
I edit using Premiere Pro CC and render out MPEG-2 (mv2 and wave) files for DVD creation and H.264 (m4v and wav) files for BluRay disk creation. I like to use the highest bitrate available that will meet the specs and also fit on the media.
I just started using AW6 and noticed that AW6 appears to re-render the video for a few seconds during scene changes. What average and maximum bitrate should I use to keep AW6 from re-rendering my source files when creating the DVD and BluRay folders? Is there a AW6 setting I should change?
I purchased a replacement version of TVM6 as I had used the first version the maximum number of times allowed.
They have blocked my use of the NEW VERSION by AUTOMATICALLY USING THE OLDER VERIONS CODES.
They are becoming so untrustworthy now!!!!
OH, AND THEY STOLE THE SECOND PAYMENT I MADE.
DON'T TRUST THEM ANY MORE. I THINK THEIR TRADING LICENCES SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR LEGALITY.
I'll now only use TVM5 as the new system is used bt them for theft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What do you mean "maximum number of times allowed"? The software doesn't limit you unless you were using a trial version. You shouldn't need to buy a second license just to keep using the software.
If you bought a new license and your computer still sees the old one, you need to delete or move the old license file. I believe it has a .lic extension if you need to look for it.
Did you buy this direct from the pegasys website? Just sounds weird the way you are describing things.
