Question 1: Will there be a free version of TMPGEnc 3?
Question 2: What happened to the manual ivtc capabilities that is there in 2.5 but not in 3? (japanese trial version)
hi, id b really grateful if sum1 cud help me with this cos ive been surfin forums for ages tryin to find an answer but im out of luk so far.....
rite im tryin to convert avi and mpeg files so that i can use tmpg dvd author to create a dvd, im using the pal dvd template but changing the bitrate to 4000, when i play the .m2v file on media player the frames skip from time to time but its really noticable.
its happens with avery format ive tried- mpeg, mpg and avi (divx and regular avi, im not sure of the frame rate, but it dus it with every file i try to convert.
im tryin to output the file at 25fps and 4000kb using the pal dvd template
the frame skipping seems to happen randomly and is very noticable, it seems to skip several frames at once.
cheers for the advice, the only thing is i use tmpg dvd author to encode the files after tmpegenc, and it requires 25fps for pal dvd, and it comes up with the warning message if its a def frame rate. ive used avs video converter to convert sum avi files at 25fps and they work fine, but id rather use tmpgenc cos its got more controls and shit
thanks agen
Hi I would like to know if TMPGenc supports conversion from WMV to MPEG.
An example is if I want to use Windows Movie Maker as my editing program, (yeah I no it isn't the greatest, but it's not to myself) and because Windows Movie Maker only can save into the WMV format and no DVD players support this format yet, I have to convert it to MPEG.
So the short version of my question is simply can TMPGenc convert a WMV file to MPEG so I can burn that end file from TMPGenc to a DVD.
I would like to string together a time lapse sequence of JPGs using TMPGEnc. It has been suggested to me that this program will do the job for me but I can't work out how.
Is there a FAQ, help file, that will be able to help me?
I would like this marvel proggy to be able to do this:
1.- Set a track as first play, with appearing in the menu. I'm actually solving this by moving the button for that track out of the safe areas but remote control number still works as well as navigation.
2.- I also would like to insert some videos as transition between menus and between menus and the movies.
That's all. Hope I explain myself clear. English is not my mother language.
I'm having some issues with getting TMPGEnc to startup VobSub and use the subtitles for an MPEG-1 format movie that I have - I want to use it to "burn in" the subs.
1. I have set the priority for the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader to the maximum (3) in the Environmental Settings dialog box.
2. VobSub does load properly and show the subs when I run the movie in Media Player.
3. The subtitle filename and the movie filename are the same (except for the file extensions of course), and the files are in the same folder.
I've reinstalled TMPGEnc a couple of times to make sure there was nothing wrong with it.
@ashy. I have the same problem. I also tried ffdshow. didn't work.
Following is my comment to a similar thread somewhere else on this board. (Question: No subtitles?! NO 2751 started by Sakin on 2004/04/25).
I have recently run into the same problem with TMPG. I used to be able to burn all subtitles into my movies with Directshow VFAP set to highest priority and installing DirectVobsub. Was doing this for over a year with TMPF successfully encoding evefrything I threw at it. Started having problems with XVID encoded AVI's. Since more and more movies were coming out in XVID, I searched the forums of Videohelp.com and several other places and they all came up with the same suggestions. Uninstall the Nimo pack codecs (which I used succesfully for quite a while), install ffdshow, configure its codec for XVID, turn on the subtitle option in ffdshow etc. Did not work. The subtitles load automatically in the media players but not in TMPG anymore. Now I can't get TMPG to hard burn any subtitles at all. TMPG doesn't seem to load directshow anymore. I believe I somehow screwed up a registry or TMPG setting. BTW, presently I have the K-Lite Codec pack installed (although I installed the newes XVID codec and the newest Vobsub and directvobsub directly from files obtained throuhg their websites). Every thing seems to work OK except I CAN'T GET TMPG TO LOAD THE SUBTITLES. Would appreciate any suggestions.
I want to post small video clips for my movie review site. I *was* using my video editing software's default .wmv export, but it's not exactly the most widely supported format.
But first I need to figure out how to get a comparable balance between filesize and sound/video quality. Ideally, the 10-30 second video clips would be small enough for a 56k modem user (like me) to download.
When I attempt to convert my Xvid file (717mb), TMPG is showing 7885mb. This is using a 3000 bit rate. While encoding, it is also showing 10hrs. Is this correct. I had 8% of the file encoded and it was over 600mb. How will this fit, and is this the normal time? Thanx for the help.
when i try to convert to svcd only the sound is outputted.no vision.i've checked everything a million times over(frame rates etc..).the original file is a torrent avi file which plays perfectly in media player.its just when i try and output it to svcd.any help appreciated.......lee
I downloaded the Episodes of 24. Now i want to burn them on a Video DVD. For this i have to change the Format to mpeg-2. If i start the conversion, everything seems to be fine (and at the first two episodes it was fine), bat after the first commercial break, which was cutted out, the screen fades out to black and then will be black the next 30 Minutes. What can i do?
I am converting some MPEG-2 NTSC (TV recordings) files to VCD. Often when I move the slider or scan forward with the >> << buttons in the Source Range window, TMPGEnc will hang. If I close the program and restart it, often I can scroll back and forth with no problems, so the problem is pretty random.
Some files were created with a Hauppauge PVR-250, others with an ATI TV-Wonder and BeyondTV. Makes no difference where the files come from, all can hang the program.
The problem
I have a Sony DVD recorder (RDR-GX3) and a Sky+ box (satellite receiver/decoder with integrated hard disk), I wanted to be able to record my favorite films and TV shows onto a DVD-RW disk and then edit them on my PC to cut out the adverts etc.
I bought a Plextor PX-708A DVD writer (for my PC) and looked for some software that would allow me to edit the VOB files, I deceided on TMPGEnc DVD Author because I liked the layout of the software, then however the problems began.
Firstly the Sony DVD recorder can format the DVD-RW disks into DVD-Video or DVD-VR, I picked the former because it has greater compatibility with commercial DVD players, unfortunately the "Add DVD video" button on DVD Author will only work with commercially pressed DVD's and not ones from DVD recorders and the "Add file" did not work either (there is a note to this effect in the help file), so I tried a film recorded in DVD-VR format and found that my PC would not read the disk correctly. This is a problem with Win XP (it is mentioned in the FAQ section for DVD Author on the Pegasys inc website, for more detailed information see knowledge base article 818733 on the Microsoft web site).
Solution number 2
Download the Instant Read 6.5 file from www.pinnaclesys.com (do a search for "Instant Read 6.5" on the home page. DVD-VR disks are basically a UDF format, Win XP does not read the DVD version correctly, however I found that after installing this software, I could insert my DVD-VR disk, run DVD Author and select "Add DVD video" and it worked fine.
PLEASE NOTE - I have only recently discovered this second solution so I have not tried it out as extensivly as solution number 1, I origonally had the Nero InCD software installed on my PC (a previous failed attempt to get a DVD-VR solution) and found that it clashed with Instant Read, I think it would be safe to say that it is not advisiable to have other UDF readers installed on your PC.
I hope that you find this post useful - Happy editing
