I wanted to fix a mpg file with an out-of-sync audio using tmpgenc, but when i tried to open the mpg file it says can't open/ unsupported. How can I fix this problem? and I don't know if i installed VFP properly, please teach me :(
You Cant fiX a Mpeg file with out of Sync Audio with tmpgnc,Tmpgenc doesn"t have the tools to fix out of Sync audio unless you were going to Re-Encode the file and use the "Audio Gap Correct" In the Source range but that isn"t the best Idea..Use a program called "Mpeg-VCR" or "Mpeg2vcr" for fixing Sync issues,It has a Feature in it"s Multiplexor that lets you resync the audio to the video without Re-encodeing..
To set the "Vfapi" you just double click the "TmpgencVfp-Install.bat" file, then put the "Tmpgenc.vfp" file in your Tmpgenc folder..and to load Mpeg2 files into tmpgenc you need a mpeg2 codec..
Mr Hori or moderator or whoever.
When is TMPG going to implement YUV decoding?
Seeing as most codecs now support this as does other software which can work with TMPG it only makes sense.
Come on Hori the only thing holding TMPG back now is the speed and YUV will speed it up consiserably.
Yes I think that would be a good Idea ,I cant use tmpgenc to encode AVI files that I capture to Uncompressed YUV2 or to the "Picvideo MJpeg Codec" cuz I use the compress to YUV2 option with the codec..Most capture cards capture better to YUV2 and I think inplementing this type of Decodeing would solve a few problems with unsupporetd file types...
I was using the trial version just fine, then my time ran out and I purchased the lastest? version 2.58.44.152 - But now when I try to open up an mpg2 file that I created with TMPGEnc I get the can't open / not supported error on the video line. I want to cange the bitrate from 6000 to 4000 to reduce the file size. But now I can't get any of my mpg's to open with the registared version.
I have tried raising and lowering priorities of some of the VFAPI plugins, but have not been successful.
Firstly this is NOT a bug in TMPG. Go to the TMPG site and read the revision notes and look what it says about the codecs needed.
You will find your answer there and if you can't work it out then I will try and explain how to solve it in more simple terms.
ASHY - Thanks for the quick response, The mpg2 files can be played on my machine with both WMP (with InterVideo DVDMP3XPack) and with Power DVD.
But since I deleted the "free" evaluation version and installed the licensed version of TMPG I have not been able to get TMPG to read the mpg2 files.
I read through the release notes as you suggested and basically understand the notes to state that if I have codecs that currently read the files, then chances are TMPG will also read them, I did not the usual disclaimer about less than 100% on every machine, but the "free" trial version of TMGP was working on my machine.
Any other suggestions? Please try to keep it simple as I am a newbie at this stuff.
There are a couple of things you can try ..Ine is to raise the Priority of the "Cyberlink Mpeg2 decoder" in the VFapi Plugins...If the Plugin is not listed then that is your problem...Another thing you can try is to De-mux the mpeg file and just encode the Video..that is better anyway cuz The audio is allready in the Correct format and re-encodeing it will just cause problems..and if that doesn"t work you are left with the Best option and the option that for me works the fastest which is to load the mpeg2 file into DVD2AVI and choose "Demux" and "Mpeg audio" in the "Audio" settings.. then it will demux the audio for you and make a "D2V" project file for you that you encode in Tmpgenc then after encodeing you just Mux the de-muxed audio with the encoded mpeg video file..This is the way I do it every time I have to encode a mpeg file..it is faster and is less trouble free Because you don"t have to worry about tmpgenc haveing to rely on the Cyberlink or logos decoders..
minion - Thanks! That Worked! (raising Cyberlink priority). It is now operating as it did during the trial period. I will try out some of your other suggestions also, Thanks.
hi there im kinda new to this i know how to encode an avi file im just trying to encode an divx file i did it as i would an avi and it would run then id get an error supposeably the movie was already finished but it still had to encode for anither 2 hrs can u please tell me settings i should use thanks
I don't quite understand the question. DIVX is AVI anyway and I don't understand what you mean when you say it finishes encoding but has another 2hrs to go.
Please give more details.
I have only started messing around makeing DVD into VCD, I am currenly backing-up my dvd collection and I am on to my secound VCD. Which happens to be shrek.
I ceate an image of the dvd, then I create a project and Dolby surround wave (Shrek AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps 44.1KHz.wav). I play the wave file using media player and notice like a stuttering for the first 20 secounds of the wave.
I convert the wave and project to an mpeg file, I play the mpeg and notice that where the stuttering is is in the opening credits of the movie. Which each stutter the currently disslayed credit changes to a different language. Once the credits finish the sound returns too normal but is out of sync with the picture.
I have since created a new wave file. This wave had one instace where the sound stuttered and and opening credit re-appered in another language.
Do these problems have anything to do with "Channel Format," "Dolby Digital," or "Mpeg Audio?" If so what are the best settign for these?
You have either Ripped the VoB files incorrectly or you have used DVD2AVI incorrectly...One Thing I did notice is that you are doing the sample rate conversion with DVD2AVI cuz in the WAV file name the audio frequency is supposed to be 48khz not 44.1khz..You should do the sample rate conversion with either Tmpgenc or a different audio encoder...Since I don"t know which version Of DVD2AVI you are useing I can"t really tell you what settings to use..But I"ll try..Under audio it should be set to "Decode" and "Dolby surround downmix" the chanell format set to "Auto select" and "48->44.1" should be "OFF" and usually Track #1 is english...This is all I can do without more info...
Hey, i try the same (avi -> mpeg for svcd) and get video but no sound. maybe we should team up? (-;
During the encoding process i get a lot of little windows with error messages, just printing a number. I get the same when i try to access the audio track.
For info how to solve your problem type 'priority' into the search box and look for anything to do with the priority setting of the 'directshow multimedia file reader' under the VFAPI plugins.
when i try and open a asf i get this problem tmpg has encounterd problems and needs to close
and im using win xp? can anyone help me fix dis problem..
laterz
ive tryed that
but it doesnt open when i try and convert it it say i got a illegal operation and it closes. .. with all asf files.. im using winxp operation system i never used to happen to me .. i know how to convert asf but not working anymore ..
When I convert MPEG 2 files to MPEG 1, I get an incorrect display of the duration in the converted file. For example, if I convert a 15 sec MPEG 2 file into MPEG 1, it'll say the total duration of the MPEG 1 file is 30 seconds in Windows Media Player but in fact it only lasts 15 seconds.
i get a lot of finnished files with a negative file size e.g -2188236455, sometimes from single files sometimes from joined files, anyone know why this is, thanks for your time
I want to make a (s)VCD for my friend who is internet-lacking and is in the hospital..he likes movies so I was planning on putting all the new trailers from quicktime.com on it. I used the thing at divx-digest.com to let tmpg read mov files, and it does, but when it converts the trailer everything gets squished into fullscreen, even though the movie is in widescreen...HELP!!
That has nothing to do with it being a MOV file it hs to do with the aspect ratio..and the Video arrange method..Try the 1:1 or 16:9 aspect ratio and try a few different Vidio arrange settings and the Clip frame settings...
each time I encode it again, it stretches out to fill the screen top to bottom...I tried it like that outta curiosity and when I treid to burn it with nero it said that mpeg2 wont work..
You can"t use "Mpeg2" files with Nero..You have to use "SVCD files"..I"m sure than Nero Didn"t say "mpeg2 wont work" I"m sure it use a more descripive term..
NO ,Mpeg2 is NOT SVCD, there are distinct differances between a Plain mpeg2 file and a Svcd Mpeg2 file, a svcd/mpeg2 file has to have particular scan offsets in the stream header for it to be svcd compliant so if you just load a Plain Mpeg2 file into Nero you will not be able to burn it without re-encodeing because the header info is different than a compliant svcd file...
