I have also been trying to import a srt file in a project using the same method. But it doesn't seem to work. When I click the import subtitles button and choose a file to import, nothing happens.
Can you please help?
Just a general question...is there any consensus on the most space-efficient codec? Playback compatibility is not an issue, I'm just wondering about the highest quality for lowest bitrate....at the moment I'm using h.264...which is the most efficient of which I know, but would anyone suggest anything else? Thanks!
I'd say that h.264 is the best at the moment in terms of quality/bitrate.
DivX is probably the next best choice, but I think you'd get slightly better quality with h.264 at the same bitrate.
Can anyone please tel me why this new version of MPEG Editor will not work on x64 systems? I work using x64 systems and now had to install a XP license just for the purpose of using MPEG Editor 3.
MPEG Editor 2 PREMIUM worked like a charm on x64, so what changed? I hope this is not a software-protection issue, I can't stand it when copy-protections prevent a software that would otherwise run fine from running on certain systems!!!!
Got an e-mail earlier from tmpgenc enews concerning 4.0 express.
Said 4.0 express was updated to 4.5.2.255
However when I go to web site and pull the latest build it is TE4XP_Retail_4.5.1.254_setup_en.exe.
Has anyone been able to pull the version 4.5.2.255?
I have already purchased the full version of the product, but recently, had to have my computer cleaned, which removed the software from my harddrive.
I still have my serial number, but can't figure out how to re-install the program without having to re-purchase it. Is it possible to re-download the full version as long as I have the serial?
If anyone else is wondering how to re-download purchased software, here's how you do it:
First, you must register your product. (If you've purchased your software in the last couple of months, then you've probably already done this, since it's the only way to download your software. However this wasn't required a while back, and anyone was able to download the full version from the download page; this message is for those people.)
You can register your product by going to the registration page and setting up a user account or logging into your user account if you already have one.
After logging in, you should be at a page with all of your registered products listed. If your product isn't there, you can register it on this page.
In the list of your registered products, there should be a download link next each product. It's pretty much self-explanatory after that.
I've ripped a HD-DVD disc and demuxed it as you cannot convert .evo files in TMPGenc 4.0 Express. After remuxing the contents back together to create a .ts video file I can succesfully load the video into TMPGenc but when trying to load the audio stream which is a .mpa file it says
"It may be an unsupported file or there is only a video stream."
TMPGenc says it supports mpa, am I missing codecs or something? Is there a way of converting the mpa into another format like ac3 or something that I could try instead?
While there are some overlapping features, they are actually two different beasts.
They each have their own unique video processing engine.
4.0 XPress' is for converting many different types of files to other formats.
MPEG Editor 3 is strictly for MPEG video formats and is much better at handling MPEG video than 4.0 XPress.
One of the biggest differences is what they call Smart Rendering.
MPEG Editor 3 has it, and what it does is it allows you to make changes and edits to your video without having to re-encode the whole video.
4.0 XPress does not have Smart Rendering, and the whole video will be re-encoded no matter what.
4.0 XPRess is overall the more flexible program in terms of the types of input and output formats, plus it allows you to add filters, and set your own output settings.
MPEG Editor 3 is great if you work strictly with MPEG video formats (DVD, Blu-ray, HDV, etc.) and plus you can input video directly from your HDV camcorder and burn your outputted video to Blu-ray (BDAV format) or DVD with it which you can't do with 4.0 XPress.
Hi folks, I just purchased TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress and I was very happy with it. I only tested it out with one clip at the time. The clips are MTS files that come directly from my Sony SR11 video camera. I bought TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress to convert the MTS clips to M2T clips which make them easier to edit on my dual core system.
Today I try to convert 10 clips with TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress and as I load the clips into TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress, I get this error message that says "Could not open the video part of the file XXXXXXXXXXXX, only the audio part can be opened. You can see the actual screen cap at: http://testshots.com/images/tmpgenc_issue.gif
I've done some research but have not found a workaround for this issue and I need to get it fixed as quickly as possible.
I just submitted a support email to TMPGenc but I understand it may take up to a week to get a response. I can't sit here for a week waiting to hear from them. If they can't get this issue resolved immediately, I'll call Visa and get my money back and purchase another product that will actually work for my needs. If anyone from TMPGenc is reading this board, please help me fix this issue immediately or refund my money and I'll move on.
