Hi, I cannot figure out how to join multiple jpegs to make a VCD. Is this possible with TMPGenc?

Make sure they are numbered sequencially then load the first and the rest will load automatically.

Can also mpeg 2 video clips merged while numbered sequentially and 1st loaded into multiplexer let say? If so, then I'm certain it doesn't work with all possible digital video material and that is why I'm not rushing to test it myself.
Still I have used Vobmerge for elementary joining of vob and mpg.

You dont need to number them if you are just joining the files. Just load the files into Merge/Cut in the order you wish them joined.

2pass-VBR always get the same file size even
if I change the avarage bitrate to 900.

I have select VCD(non-standard) to override CBR-1150,
but tmpgenc still created same files-size no matter
what avarage bitrate setting is.

Using MPEG-1 System(VBR) probably will work so I can
get a 85 minute movie down to 800MB.

But why does not Video-CD(non-standard) work anymore???????

It's a well known Bug in TMPGEnc 2.59. Use an older Version for Multiplexing, and you will be happy again ;)

Hi, I am pretty new to this but have created several 2 min AVIs with Microsoft Moviemaker2 and encoded to MPG2 with TMPGenc sucessfully. I have the same format 720x480 AVI that is 14 min long, TMPGenc wont recognise more than 5 min in preview and the rest if the AVI insnt there in preview or when I encode it. Is there a limitation on MPG2 encoding lenth. I know the freeware version limits you to 30 days for MPG2 enc. but I am not able to encode more than 5 min at a time.

Have you tried to Raise the "Direct Show File Reader" in the "VFAPI Plugins"???
Go to "Options" to "Enviromental Settings" to "Vfapi Plugins" and raise the "Direct show" to "2"...

Thanks, I'll try that over the holidays. Someone mentioned that the windows Moviemaker has issues with Nvidia card drivers and that is the prog that rendered the AVI so maybe there is a problem there?

Hi, I wonder if tmpgenc plus is suit for transcode vcd .dat to mpeg file.
I try to finish the transcode but it always shows up with error message of "buffer underflow" at the end. And I don't know if the transcode from .dat to .mpg file is correct with no error. Anyone got idea about this transcoding methods ? thanks for help.

.dat IS MPEG (MPEG1). You don't have to transcode. Do a simple Multiplex to VCD, this should work.

We would like to control the way how TMPGEnc(+) reads jpeg still images into the mpeg2-video. Is there any documentation available how to use the various Video.SourceFile and Video.SourceRange.* options in the text .tbe and .tpr files?

Basicly we want to duplicate each still image for n frames without duplicating the actual files.

Are there any further documentation available about the .tbe and .tpr file formats (in text)?

You don"t need to duplicate the files Just load the same file in as Many times as You need....

What kind of file are you trying to load into MPEG Tools and do you have the proper plugins loaded for that file?

I converted an avi into mpeg and the quality is great, but there is no sound. Does it have anything to do with that I cut the avi in half which I had to do due to the size of the avi? Or is there an other problem? I'm quite new with the program so I might have chosen the wrong sttings.

i have the same problem, when i split mpeg videos, theres no sound! i dont get it!

If there is Sound in the AVI file But no audio in the Mpeg file then you probably need to Extract the audio to a WAV file with something like "Virtual Dub" or "AVI-Mux" and use the WAV file as the audio source...

But how does that work. Do i get an wav file which i have to burn on the vcd?

i have the same problem, split a 800 mpeg video to 2, but when i checked the 2 halfs, i have sound at the beginning but somewhere in the middle the audio disappears!????#@$!

When I load an AVI file to convert to MPEG, I get an error msg stating "can not be used as external encoder".

What does this mean and are there any possible related adjustments ?

I have 1 mpeg1 file that I tried to convert to dvd mpegs but recieve this error message "illegal floating decimal point calculation error" I can't seem to figure out what the problem is, I've tried the "mpeg-corrector" program but still recieve this error message. I have never recieved this message before anyone have any suggestions that would help?

Hi can someone please help. no matter what I do I cannot get the sync sorted after using version 2.56 to create a m2v file. I can create a mpeg file and the sync is fine but i dont know how to make that to dvd vob files.

is it a problem with software or am I doing something wrong??

So I guess that you are trying to Make a DVD, But You don"t know how to Turn the Mpeg2 file into a VOB file???Well You don"t turn the Mpeg file into a Vob file, the authoring program does that...You need a DVD Authoring program and it will Format the Mpeg2 file to the Correct format for a DVD and burn it for you to DVD ....
