Every time i try to encode a file avi in a file mpg the program stop after a
few minutes and tell me "read error occurred at address 027a5923 of module 'p3package.dll'
with 4746a480. I have windows 2000, amd athlon 2000, 256 MB ddram333mhz, abit siluro mx 440
geforce 64 mb. I'have exctracted tmpgenc in a new folder. I have problems with every program
that convert dvd in divx or divx in vcd. someone could help me, please?
That error is caused By not haveing all the Tmpgenc files in the same folder..Every file that comes with tmpgenc has to be in the same folder, and one of those files has to be the "P3P Package.dll"..If you are missing that file or you do have that file but it is still giveing you an error the re-download Tmpgenc...
Thx for your response. What I mean is the function of MPG1-non standard, i.e. when I encode to MPG for fitting in one CDR (e.g. 120min movie).
But after I return to use version 2.58, it's OK. I am glad to notice that someone has put this problem on the BBS.
Yes your right there is a bug in the new versions muxer. It is using the standard muxing rate for non standard MPEG1 VCD files which is adding padding to the file.
To remove the padding you need to remultiplex in an earlier version using the 'non standard VCD' setting.
In trying to convert a few movies to mpeg-1, i'm recieving the msg : "Read error occured at adress 0049eecd of module 'TMPGEnc.exe' with 0009d43c". It happend to me a few times. I simply asking why?
Is it have to do with the fact that when opening the filw in VirtualDub i recieve the msg : "inproper VBR audio encoding...etc etc"?
The improper VBR encodeing is a Totally seperate Problem ..That error means that the audio in the source file is encoded with "VBR Mp3"..Tmpgenc will not encode "VBR Mp3" so you will need to extract the audio to a WAV file with V-Dub and use that as the audio source..The other error Could be from the source file being corrupted, This is very common with Downloaded Movie files from places like Kazaa.
Check out www.karaokeplayground.co.uk. Traxmaster has wrote a great little prog that makes batch conversion a piece of cake! (With an acknowledgement to Futile)Go to 'Converting/burning mp3+g'.
Is-it possible to reencode a mpeg2 file with a CBR of 2500 kbps in a new mpeg2 file with VBR around 2000 kbps in order to reduce the size of the file ?
Yes But you will greatly ruduce the Quality of the Mpeg file...You will get much better results if you use the Original Source file and re-encode that...
Thanks Manion, but is-it possible with Tmpgenc ? Because i tried to do it , but without success...Tmpgenc didn't recognize the format of the source file to convert in VBR (2000 kbps) although the source file was done by tmpenc with CBR of 2500kbps .....
I think what Minion is trying to say is that you dont need to reencode something that is already encoded, regardless of what settings you use. Use the "original" .avi source file and encode that however you please. There would be no point to re-encode an already existing mpeg2 file.
TO answer your question, TMPgenc takes .avi files, not mpeg2 files even if that file was already encoded with TMP
You CAN encode Mpeg2 file with Tmpgenc But you need to have either a "Cyberlink Mpeg2 Decoder" the "Ligos Mpeg2 decoder" or the "Sony mpeg2 Decoder"..I still prefer to use DVD2AVI if I am going to encode Mpeg2 files Cuz it seems faster than other Mpeg2 decoders..
Tmpgenc 2.59 can use an external audio engine. Why should anyone use this facility? Do we get a better sound quality? Which external sound engine has best sound quality? I convert DVD-Video to VideoCD. Can an MP3 encoder be used? Any downsides?
TMPGENC MPEG-1 L2 audio encoder is only "fair". TOOLAME 0.2i
is claimed to be the best, and is designed as a plug in.
See www.vcphelp.com tools section...
After Download your Free Licens Version 2.59 i´m not able to create DVD - Mpeg2 because it says, Expiration date of Mpeg2 is expired.
I just want to test - how can I overcome this problem??
Thanks in advance
This happens cuz in the past you have tmpgenc installed..You can only install one demo and that is it..After you install a demo and 30 days goes by you can not install a Demo ever again unless you Buy Tmpgenc Plus...
Thanks for this information, but if it is true, that I have installed a demo version before, it must be ages ago - for I can´t remember.
By the way , all Magazines in Germany (PC Direct / Videofilmen/ Camgaroo/ etc.) refere to the Shareware from Tempgen that privat persons can use for free and without any expiration date. This is than absolut missleading and not correct.
I've created a 1gb mpeg using the matrox remote (G400 & RR-G) and wish to take out the adverts between each episode (two episodes within the 1gb file I captured).
Not having any other editing software I tried the mpeg tools facility in TMPGEnc.
I loaded the file, and sourced the first half of the first episode, I then loaded the same 1gb file again and sourced the second half (of the first episode). I did this again for the first and second half of the second episode (I therefore had loaded the same 1gb file four times and sourced different parts of it) and hit 'run'.
Everytime I tried this, even though the first clip is ten minutes it only created a 120 sec clip.
I loaded the 1gb file again and this time only sourced the first ten minutes - still it only created a 120 second clip.
Am I doing something wrong?
I was beginning to think the mpeg tools facility in TMPGEnc wasn't designed for this, but as I tried it again only sourcing *one* clip, think I must be doing something wrong.
I've successfully used this program to cut mpegs in the past.
Any idea's are greatly appreciated.

One thing I forgot to mention - I also copied the 1gb file a further three times so I could import four different clips into TMPGenc tools and source different ranges from each one - still the same output of 120secs.

The Mpeg tools only support Mpeg files encoded by Tmpgenc, and even then they don"t work all the time...You are much better off useing a real Mpeg editor, I have been useing Cyberlink Power Director 2.5 lately and it has been working flawlessly for editing Mpeg files..But Womble Mpeg2Vcr is good also accept it seems to add a lot of Padding to the file But it can be removed .....You will get better Quality if you captured to AVI and use the "Cut Editing" feature in the "Source Range" to edit out any part you want to edit....
Hi.
Thanks for the message.
I am familar with the source range facility, but have a query concerning this:
I was under the impression you couldn't source more than one range, for instance I know you can source 200 to 400 of a 1000 frame clip, but what I want to do is source 200 to 400 *and* 600 to 800 at the same time.
Is this possible?
Many thanks,
Will
> The Mpeg tools only support Mpeg files encoded by Tmpgenc
Ah-ha!
I didn't know this!
Now I think about it I didn't actually create an avi. (with the Matrox card) and then encode with TMPGEnc, I captured real time to mpeg1 using an ATI Radeon, perhaps that's why it didn't work as I never ran it through TMPGEnc in the first place.
Can I encode the whole clip using TMPGEnc, and if so, will I lose quality?
Will try source the programs you mentioned, are they available as a demo?
Thanks,
Will
I use adobe premiere to edit my DV avi files. I hear mainconcept's DV codec has better quality than ms DV coded. But I don't think mainconcept's DV codec will help to improve image quality if I output to TMPGenc via frame server(vedioserverpackage 095 from vediotool.net). It only improve if I output in DV avi format. Am I right?
Well the freeware Version isn"t really Freeware, the Mpeg2 encodeing Runs out in 30 days were the Registered "Plus" version Doesn"t run out..The Plus version has a Few more features Like a Better 2 pass setting and Higher resolution settings..And once the "Demo" version Runs out you can never install a demo version again..But if you are just doing Mpeg1 encodeing then there is no real need to Get the Buy "Plus" version Cuz the Mpeg1 encodeing in the Demo doesn"t run out...
I have error 'Could not open this file with DirectShow.(0x800700E)' when I try to cut my mpeg file. I've reinstalled Windows media Plaer and DerectX8 and still no good. What is missing?
