Question - TAW4 - how to add mkv file to file list No.62003
dirkidgs  2009-05-12 02:03:50 ( ID:3gtunjouu82 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am running Authoring Works 4.0, how do I add a MKV file to the file list.

I know I have to chnage the file type to ALL FILES. but i select my mkv video file and I get a message saying that I cant use this type of file.

Is there a resolve for this issue other than converting a MKV file to AVI ?

Thanks.

Mário  2009-05-12 22:49:17 ( ID:mct8vinu/in )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Authoring Works does not support MKV format. You have to convert to any of the formats supported...see here: http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/taw4_feature.html

****start

1
00:00:48,549 --> 00:00:50,974
Už se vám tohle někdy stalo?

2
00:01:05,162 --> 00:01:10,218
Ode dneška se na 999 na pohotovost nedovoláte.

3
00:01:10,219 --> 00:01:12,561
A to není to jediné, co se mění...

4
00:01:13,486 --> 00:01:14,520
Hezčí ambulance

5
00:01:14,520 --> 00:01:15,946
Hezčí ambulance
Rychlejší odezva

6
00:01:15,946 --> 00:01:17,541
Hezčí ambulance
Rychlejší odezva
A přitažlivější řidiči

7
00:01:17,542 --> 00:01:19,904
Prostě to není jen POHOTOVOST,

8
00:01:19,905 --> 00:01:21,887
Prostě to není jen POHOTOVOST,
je to VAŠE POHOTOVOST

9
00:01:22,145 --> 00:01:22,529
Takže!

10
00:01:22,529 --> 00:01:24,014
Zapamatujte si nové číslo!

****end

I try many thinks, problem is at Czech diacriticals as is "áíéýžřčšě". Thanks for fix.

Does this look correct?

I just copied and pasted your subtitles into a text document and saved as a .srt file. Text encoded as UTF-8 without BOM. I use Notepad++. You can get it here:

Question - TDA3 - Can I chage the aspect ratio of a finished menu?? No.60873
Oscar  2009-05-09 12:53:01 ( ID:ndswukuacmj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Can I chage the aspect ratio of a finished DVD menu? I want to chage from 4:3 to 16:9, but I only find to do it if I make a new DVD menu. I haven't found to change it in the dvd menu properties.

Thanks.

Bob  2009-05-11 16:52:30 ( ID:ucbus1wjjgl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I don't believe you can. I have found the menu creation process lacking in many respects including not being able to change things without having to start over.

If Pc Threatfire installed. Authoring 4 will not launch with this product installed.

tkrave  2009-05-07 18:37:44 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Authoring Works 4 is probably trying to connect with the validation server. Is there is a way to add it to a safe programs list or allow it to connect to the internet?

Question - TAW4 - How To Have Muci On Menu No.61997
Hakeem  2009-05-07 01:21:55 ( ID:ojp4wtsclag )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I already know how to get music in Menu's.

What I want is to have a song playing start to end, while I flick through varios Menu pages.

Just now, I have to manually add the same song to every Menu page and it starts again everytime I change Menu pages.

Thanks in Advance.

Question - TAW4 - Frustrated with the SlideShow editor No.61995
wg15  2009-05-06 23:03:19 ( ID:uu4.fwjuxgl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm still trying to learn how to use the SlideShow editor, but I'm getting very frustrated. Here are some tasks that I'd like to do, but I can't figure out any simple way to do them. Let's see if anyone can point me in the right direction.

1) I wanted to put about 300 slides into a show on a DVD. Because it was over 200 slides, the show was split into two pieces. But now I want to re-arrange the order of the slides and I want to move some of the slides from the first piece into the second and vice versa. I can use drag and drop to re-arrange within one show, but it seems that I can't move from one show to another.

2) Is there anyway to splice/merge/join two slide shows into one?

3) I have an existing slide show, but now I want to add a movie clip in the middle of the show. It seems that to do this, I have to split the show into two pieces, but there doesn't seem to be any easy way to do this.

4) When re-arranging slides, is there any way to move multiple slides at one time rather than using drag and drop to move them individually?

All of these seem like they should be simple tasks, but I sure can't figure out how to do them.

tkrave  2009-05-07 18:35:58 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Unfortunately, none of those things are currently possible. They're definitely good ideas, and I'd love to see them implemented, but currently it just can't be done.

I'm afraid there's no easy way to do any of the things you want to do; you'll have to do it all manually.

Question - TE40 - navigate by keyframe on edit screen No.58831
stev03  2009-05-06 03:43:58 ( ID:12fmk33nohm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

could you add a method of navigating the video by keyframe in the cut-edit screen?

for example, in the program "virtual-dub" when you hold down the shift button while dragging the navigation slider, only keyframes are shown, making it much faster

tkrave  2009-05-06 18:26:59 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can navigate just keyframes with the keyboard shortcut [ctrl + left arrow/right arrow] to go to the previous or next keyframe.

You can also just click on a keyframe in the keyframe list to go to that frame in the thumbnail navigator.

Unfortunately, you can't navigate just keyframes when dragging the slider.

Hi Art,

Maybe someone else can help by posting a message here. Do you mean can transfer or cannot?

My strong suggestion though is please edit your comment to remove your address and email details - they are not needed!

Arthur, if you don't have your product's serial license number (the number emailed to you when you purchased the product) you should contact support via email using one of the form on the following page:
http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/support/support.html

Just scroll down and click on the name of the product you own, then you can submit your question to the support team.

If you DO know your product's serial license number, then you can re-download the software by going to the User Account section of their website:
https://secure.pegasys-inc.com/regist/index.php?lang=en

1)If you don't have a User Account, click on the "Create Account" button and then follow the directions.

2)You will be able to register one of your products' serial license number during the registration period, and after you create your account, you can register the rest.

3)Once your product(s) are registered you can re-download the installer for any of your purchased products.

Love Karma.. great concept and works great.. but I cannot find a use for it without the ability to do file operations such as delete, rename, move, etc.. I've tried jumping from Karma to explorer, etc.. but it is way to hard. I know Karma is a work in progress.. but please.. pretty please...

Could file operations please be added?

Thank you.

Question - TDA3 - Excluding track from "Play All"? No.60871
DarkForge  2009-05-03 13:42:09 ( ID:0or98ju6ica )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hey guys. A quick question here, and I think I already know what the answer is going to be, but I'd just like to make sure...

Is there any way to leave out a track when using the "Play All" feature? So for example, say I have Tracks 1-4 on a DVD, selecting "Play All" would play Tracks 1-3, but not Track 4 - this can only be played by selecting it separately.

Like I said, I realise it's a long shot, (I can't find anything in the Help file to suggest this can be done), but hey nothing to lose by asking.

Thanks in advance. :-)
