Question - TAW4 - TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4.0.4.24 and Vista SP2 No.62045
Al  2009-06-10 20:53:32 ( ID:mg3vewoqo5r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Sorry, I originally entered this as a BUG Report, feel that it really should be a question, but I didn't know how to reclassify it.

Having a problem getting this to run under VISTA with SP2. Get an "VMELib DVDAuthor Project Instance Not Found" error. Worked great under SP1 and XP. Any idean what's wrong? TIA.

tkrave  2009-06-12 20:56:33 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are you using Vista 64-bit?

Al  2009-06-13 12:43:09 ( ID:mg3vewoqo5r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Was running 64 bit, went back to 32 bit. The only common denominator seems to be SP2. Vista with SP1 runs fine.

tkrave  2009-06-15 18:25:40 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Your best bet is probably to contact their email support and let them know about this. They may have a solution, or at the very least, it will alert them to the problem.

Send the info to the TMPGEnc support site. After the initial acknowledgement, no response. Anyone have any suggestions? Any idea why SP2 seems to be the issue? TIA

Bug report - TE40 - Long slideshow can't loop audio No.58900
natong  2009-06-10 15:09:42 ( ID:i3i1h1sfuw2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Long slideshow can't loop audio

I have 100 pictures for slideshow and 2 mins audio.
The slideshow can't play song as loop. Only play one round and stop, no song any more.

tkrave  2009-06-10 19:21:25 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Unfortunately, looping the audio isn't possible...it's not even an option. You can either adjust the slideshow to the length of the music or you don't and the music will end and the slideshow will keep going.

natong  2009-07-05 10:53:48 ( ID:i3i1h1sfuw2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

So sad.

These is very important.

krk  2011-01-11 06:10:12 ( ID:83bfjvz0uof )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Audio looping option in slidwshow is missing. Any plans to include in for the future releases?

tkrave  2011-01-12 03:20:28 ( ID:esk4fdefcg2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hopefully it's in the next version, but we'll have to wait and see.

Question - TE25 - Can I open png files on TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 No.43737
Harry  2009-06-10 09:26:04 ( ID:tr8xvedv6hk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Probably a silly question but........

I have an old, free version of TMPGenc 2.5 but with new software, which produces the input files, png appears to be the format of choice. Cause I can't open the free download software for TMPGenc 2.5 (Cause my old one expired and there's a registry entry preventing me from re-loading!!) can anyone tell me if the newer or paid version can support/read png files?

Many thanks in advance,

Harry

tkrave  2009-06-10 19:29:56 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've been able to load a png into TMPGEnc Plus 2.5, so it should work on the free version too.

PNG wasn't listed in the available file types when using the file browser, so you need to select "All files" as the file type.

Question - TAW4 - Subtitles menu button No.62041
murman  2009-06-10 05:48:24 ( ID:oumxk0wf7kg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello, I created a DVD with TAW4 and added subtitles. However a "subtitles Settings" button has appeared on all my menues. How can I remove it?

Thanks

tkrave  2009-06-10 19:34:14 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You can't truly remove it, but you can hide it if it's a custom menu. Just replace the button graphic with a transparent gif or something and resize it so it's very small. Next, make sure other buttons aren't able to navigate to it with the link editor.

If you're using a menu template, then there's no way to remove it unless you get rid of the subtitles.

tkrave  2009-06-18 18:28:40 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Well, I was wrong. You CAN remove buttons on custom and menu templates!

In the Menu Stage, click on the "[DVD/Blu-ray/Divx] global menu settings" button and go to the "Item display" tab.

From here, you can select which buttons will be displayed or not.

You can also hide chapters or tracks.

Bug report - TAW4 - Reading DVD's seizes program No.62038
maons  2009-06-09 18:14:21 ( ID:cyygwqasi6k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Ok, I upgraded to the new version. I have made a DVD using my Toshiba DVD Recorder on a RW DVD. I copy it into the computer using the new release and it seizes up the program after about 20% to 35% finished. Only way out is to reboot computer.

Now I have mpeg editor 3, and it copies it perfectly.

I downgraded to version 4.0.2.14 and its copies it perfectly. There is a major bug in the newest release.

Anybody else having the same problem?

tkrave  2009-06-10 19:44:01 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You should submit a support email so they can fix the problem:

maons  2009-06-18 17:46:54 ( ID:cyygwqasi6k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Found the problem. It was in the pci SATA Controller card. I exchanged the VIA SATA card with one made by Silicon Image (chipset) and that fixed the problem. The replacement also fixed the 'B's Recorder writer' that comes with Tmpgenc 4.0.

Question - TAW4 - Hardcoding Subtitles No.62035
Markie  2009-06-09 18:10:18 ( ID:qw9bh8j4zmg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I would like to hardcode my subtitles onto the film rather than have to select the subtitles from the menu. Is this possible?

tkrave  2009-06-09 18:53:40 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It's not possible with Authoring Works 4, but I think TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress will hardcode the subtitles into the video.

tkrave  2009-06-23 18:49:53 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just found that you can also force subtitles to show up instead of having to select them.

To do it, go to the Source stage and click on the "Settings" button for the track you'd like to force subs on. In the track settings window, for "Default subtitles stream", just select which sub stream you'd like to force.

Verify by going to the Simulation stage or using the track preview button.

Question - TAW4 - wrong sample rate by capturing from DV in first scene No.62033
Christian  2009-06-07 21:14:45 ( ID:zwhvh4dcrjw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi at all,

having a problem that i can't solve in TAW4.
By capturing a stream from my DV camcorder (SONY MV700) always the first scene is captured in a wrong audio sample rate (32000 Hz). then from the second scene and following everything's fine. Strange thing. What could it be?

I was really interested in TAW4, but the problem is already in the trial version. So I usually use TMPGEnc DVD Author 2.0, because of this bug. even the new updated version (4.0.4.24) couldn't solve the problem.

Would be nice to get an advice.

Greetings
Christian

Hello everybody, I am compressing a mkv to divx, what should I put in the bitrate option adjustmen, higt motion or low motion, "thank you very much

---------------------------------------------------

Hola a todos, estoy comprimiendo un mkv a divx, ¿que debo poner en la opcion bitrate adjustmen, higt motion o low motion?, muchas gracias

tkrave  2009-06-09 22:49:05 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I think it depends on the content of your video. If there's a lot of motion such as a fast-paced movie or sports event, then choose high motion. However, high motion will probably set the bitrate higher, resulting in a larger file size.

Cannot find class. Error Code 0x8004800B

happens when you try to select any other format from the start

apparantly this happened with xpress 4 a while back of which they had to release another version to fix the error.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-06-06 02:49:34 ( ID:.srhuepxtwr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

ok for some reason even after i put my pass in for editing my above post wouldnt let me get in to edit.

found out thats its the retail version thats a bit naffed up as the trail verison doesnt have any issues as im finding out right now.

so they need to sort it out.

Greg  2009-06-07 16:24:36 ( ID:nxujvvwj3x. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Here is a little Information.

I have had a issue with this application, though it installed alright on "Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit", I kept on getting "cannot find class" errors and was not able to start a new project.

The problem was resulted as some path issue.

If you have this issue on your OS, try installing it to location (C:\Pegasys Inc\"Application_Name"\) using Custom install.

Should work first time!

GOOD LUCK...
Hope it works for you.

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-06-08 03:59:49 ( ID:.srhuepxtwr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

yeah no matter how many times i adjusted the location for the install to be, it would go to the normal place.... which is rather anoying considerin they give you the user the option ...maybe thats anothert bug we have found.

so ig uess either users will need to work with the trail verison of go back to the previous working verison.

shame.

makes you wonder why they dont test these thigns before they go on release, becuase it simply makes them look like fools.

tkrave  2009-06-08 18:32:39 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Update works fine for me. What OS are you using? Is it 64-bit?

You should submit a support email so they know about your problem.

yeah xp pro x64

tkrave  2009-06-09 01:26:27 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I don't think they do extensive testing on 64-bit systems.

Greg  2009-06-09 08:51:25 ( ID:nxujvvwj3x. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Errors may occur on 64 bit OS's if you have installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)\".

I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit and it works perfectly when I installed it directly on "C:\" E.g: C:\Pegasys Inc\

MathewLisett  Home )  2009-06-13 12:55:52 ( ID:.srhuepxtwr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

ok, the version works it was my hdd that was dying that made my system start to fall apart.

Al  2009-06-13 17:42:15 ( ID:mg3vewoqo5r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Any of you folks running it with Vista SP2? Would install but not work Vista 32 or 64 bit with SP2. Vista 32 bit SP1 worked fine.

Question - TE40 - Converting NTSC 4:3 to PAL 16:9 No.58895
Nimbus3  2009-06-04 12:54:29 ( ID:htqiz7jybm. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just the simple quastion: The eseast way to convert a movie from NTSC 4:3 format to PAL 16:9. I'm new to this an need some hints.

tkrave  2009-06-06 00:07:26 ( ID:lgrl8ryjzyl )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When you output the file, set it to PAL and the aspect ratio to 16:9. It's that easy. You'll have black bars on the sides of your video though.

Now, things will get a little more complicated if your NTSC 4:3 movie has letterboxing encoded into the movie. If it does, then you'll have to crop those out with the crop filter.
